i haven't seen the episode yet but read the update. I learnt that all of them sung very well...........and Shamit's or Rex's performance was no less than Mona's.

It will be very wrong if they vote just on the basis of gender. They should vote the one who they think performed the best. Maybe not JANATA but the participants understand this well.

POOR MAN'S HRITHIK:
Qazi Touqeer

When the Fame Gurukul contestants were given a makeover by celeb hairstylist Adhuna Akhtar, he refused to have his unruly mop touched by anyone. "I already have the mane of a rock star," declared participant Qazi Touqeer. He only agreed to have his hair "coloured like Ricky Martin."

The Fame crown may be still away — and yet uncertain. But Srinagar-based Qazi knows that he has had his brush with fame. Viewers of this daily show have been following his cool dude antics on the show combined with his oodles of attitude.

"I know I stand out among the participants," he says. "But what can I do? I was born beautiful. I was born be a performer. I can sing, act and dance," says Qazi who now seeks Mumbai to fulfill his childhood dream.

"Everyone talks about my hairstyle but it's all natural including the curls. I have done nothing to it except coloured it as part of the makeover." He always wanted to be a performer "so I have been blessed with it including the hair."

Off-screen too Qazi loves playing to the gallery. Ask him his age and he says, "Just say I am not even 20, or say 20 plus. When you tell him a bit of arithmetic, he settles for 20. Continuing in the same vein, he exclaims, "I have studied 10 +2. How's that?"

At the moment though, Qazi is totally focused on winning the Fame title and is savouring every moment of the drama.

"Like life, the contest has seen me go up and down like a yo-yo. I have been in the danger zone and on probation but have swung back to be in the reckoning. It's like a cricket match, you win, you lose. It's okay as long as you get remembered."

Interestingly, Qazi always wanted to be an actor. He shocked his traditional family by entering Fame Gurukul and making it to the contest.

"I told them I want to be a singer. They were horrified. Now I want to be both a singer and an actor. Dancing comes easily to me as well. So basically I was born to perform."

This is Qazi's first trip to Mumbai and he loves everything about the city. "I may not go back to Srinagar. Mumbai is beautiful."

"I forgot to say. I owe everything to my mother. She was the one who encouraged me to go forth and chase my dream. Fame Gurkul is my first big step. I love you mom!" he signs off in true rock star style.
