What is MAKU😕

Maku is a slang referring to CPI(M) supporters during our college days. The M stand for Marxist - Marx became Maku in college.

I kissed the miss, but missed the kiss - didn't win the prize.

the most daring?

when we were in the 4th yr, there was a police firing on a crowd of students at Durgapur Cinema: 2 students got killed. The police were all over the city picking up anyone and everyone who looked like a REC student.

in the melee, we had to get back to the college campus, inform the college admin (who were in general very sympathetic about our activities), inform the local political leaders to get their support, get to the hospital to register claim for the bodies, arrange treatement for some students injured in the fracas and ensure that some exams for some external students scheduled for the next day went ahead smoothly.

there were 5/6 of us (then the "union braves"!!) and how we did all that is, today, beyond me. could all this be called daring? possibly yes. for as we then knew, shoot-at-sight orders had been enforced around our college campus, later to be proved a rumour.

thts called daring.

Yep. That was daring. I am aware of the state of affairs during those times, and that too in a small town like Durgapur - it needed lots of guts.
