As Fame Gurukul winds down this week, Do share your thoughts on it.

In the past three + months I drew the following conclusions:
1. It did not keep up to the marketing ad's of being a straightforward show.
2. A lot of background work was done to give this a degree of nastiness -- team mates were asked to run other participants down often...
3. We have a lot of talent in the far corners of India that need to be tapped -- Arijit being a classic example.
4. Competition brings out the worst in people.
5. Now its all about presentation, and your hair -- the number of salon trips these people have made !!!
6. India is truly secular ... May it remain so forever..

PD Here are my thoughts on FG
1.Peoples in India really like Reality shows Concept
2.Shows like FG is changing the trend of Music industry and now non filmi ( no remix ) songs /albums will have good future
3.FG again showed atitude is very important if you want to be successfull
4.Whatever may be the motive behind these shows but such shows really help in finding talent all over india and it gives very good platform to aspiring singers

It is a nice topic and I liked your assessment.

1) Confidence and well grooming can make wonders-eg Qazi
2) competition also brings out the best in people-eg Ruprekha's sacrifice.
3) The rules like top student being emmune for the week, proved costly to other students-eg(Arpita-Mona, patriotic songs round)
4)Twists gave Rex 2 chances.
5) Not only singing but honesty , team spirit and public speaking skills were important eg-Arpita lost on that
6)Lots of revenue to sony and partners, good entertainment to public

Nice topic..:-)

Personally, i thoroughly enjoyed FG but i think sony described it all wrong. it wasnt a musical reality show by any stretch of imagination. more than either music or reality, it was bout SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST.
