As we tailed her as she got in and out of shops and signed autographs, we were surprised by her shopping skills as well - they were so good, that even a city jeweller was surprised at her bargaining powers. She was wearing knee high boots and a pair jeans teamed with a sleeveless T-shirt. Boots in scorching heat of Jaipur? Anyway, Kavita was shopping at a jewellery shop in Bapu Bazaar, and she tried on a few pieces of earrings and selected a pair of silver hoops - and like a smart shopper, asked for a discount. And when the shopkeeper refused saying, 'Madam nahi ho payega', Kavita laughed and said, "Kya tum mujhe jante nahi ho? Chalo jaldi se discount kar do."
Without uttering a word, shopkeeper wrapped the earrings, quoted a discounted rate and gave her the earrings. She bought a few other things too, and carrying heavy shopping bags, she stepped out of yet another shop. Though she was not wearing her trademark Khaki uniform, many people still recognized her and rushed to take her autograph. On the way back to the main market, she spotted a traffic cop, and quickly went to have a chat with him. Guess, she was asking for some tips from a real cop!
