Very unfair to exclude Aakash!

Did not like this step-motherly treatment to aakash!! suddenly everybody became so unprofessional! as if Aakaaash's work has no meaning , and he is here for some kind of fun or adventure! Felt very bad and it was Unfair in the way he was snubbed , because there is not enough oxygen cylinder!

What was colonel thinking? if he is the team leader , he has to take responsibility of all the 3 candidates( here it is Arjun, Anjali and AAKASH As well) and treat them equally in giving opportunity , and make sure that the CANDIDATES summit first as a priority, then others...

Why can't chand be excluded in that case?? First , he is not a candidate, but his aide- why was he chosen over the Candidates, who are here to climb??

Aakash had a contract and he is paid for this job... He may not be apassionate climber, but he is very much part of the team, and most importantly, HE IS cOLONEL's STUDENT also... How can Col forget and completely deny that!!

More appauling was , when he justified Anjali by saying she is his candidate... Does that mean , he is responsible to only Anjali and not anyone else?? What kind of partiality is that?

Just, because Col. had to accommodate himself and his Fav Anjali, and make sure only SHE summita successfully and fulfills her dreams, cos she reminds him of his dead wife, is the worse judgement one can expect from a teacher like Colonel! simply funny and lame.

If anjali is Colonel's candidate, Then Akash and arjun too are his candidates, because he trained them under him... he cannot and should Not have excluded any three of them!

I agree with that...

if anjali is col's candidate, arjun and aakash also most certainly are!

after all all 3 were trained by him at NIM

so what partiality is this? anjali is col's candidate and arjun is roongta's

so what about aakash? does he count for nothing?

col shows favoritism to anjali no doubt...bcz she is like his wife tara...and so he wants to help her summit...he undertook this mission bcoz of her...and he chose to continue summit after rescue mission ended only bcoz of anjali...not for arjun or aakash

it is another matter that aakash is so good that he is ready to forgo this chance to stand on the world's highest peak for his team...but i disapprove of this choice...

seriously wanted aakash to summit...

You have a point for sure but even Colonel has a point here. Chand is not a candidate but we should remember he is only next to Colonel in this Everest expedition. Everest is like his second home. Since Colonel is not doing very well its important to have another leader if anything goes wrong. I find nothing unprofessional here. Nothing is above safety and human life.

As for Akash, Everest was his job and not his passion. Besides, he still is a first timer. He has ample of time in life to do it again. ANjali could not have been excluded after the stint she did last time. ALso, he doesn't know that Jagat is finally changing and will let his daughter do it again. So, Anjali despite of being a first timer had an upper hand in this story,

It's truly dissapointing at this stage...where they r too close to d peak...& why Aakaash needs to understand always...everyone is there for their own reasons...I doubt how much roongta is gonna to pay him now as he hasn't still cleared d hospital bill..!!

IMO Aakash's exclusion by Colonel is totally justified

1.First of all, Chand was employed by Abhiyankar not just as a mere aide, but because he was one of the 'best guides' out there for the mission. When we go to some foreign place, we often hire guides to help us out, then this is Mount Everest, surely you will require the best guide's service in such alien conditions and high altitudes?

2.Initially, when Roongta had appealed to Colonel to come in on the mission in which his both 'NIM candidates' were participating, he had declined the offer in its face, but only and only because Anjali's story had convinced her, he decided to join in as leader.

3.Thirdly, Abhiyankar indeed did leave Anjali out of the rescue mission because it wasn't Mission Everest anymore but surely he must have also got inspired from Anjali's herculean effort to climb alone and reach them, seeing the passion that she had and finding the weather conditions clear on reaching Nasir, he would have been convinced thoroughly that this girl deserves to get what she wants for once. Call it 'favoritism' if you would, but it is perfectly understandable.

4.As someone already pointed out, Abhiyankar and the rest of the team were obviously unaware with Jagat's change of stance regarding Anjali so there's no way Colonel could have had a change of mind in view of Anjali's original mission.

5.I don't think Aakash's exclusion was 'unprofessional', Colonel clearly contacted Roongta over the decison and if Roongta doesn't have a problem, then why would Abhiyankar feel he is creating some disturbance in his work? Roongta only wanted a picture of CC's flag atop the summit, which Chand could have easily clicked as well.

6.Lastly, Abhiyankar is clearly injured and having internal bleeding, in case at some point he gets in some critical condition and is unable to carry on, who do you think will serve as the second best leader? Aakash or Chand?
