Roongta barged into Arjun's room in all his fury blurting his accusations without thinking even for once that he had just interrupted a media interview with two reporters present in the room. Funnily he was heard accusing Arjun for not telling him the truth earlier and thank the Lord the media didnt reach this truth before him lol
It was surprising and absolutely lovely to see a shrewd conniving man like Roongta not being in control. He has always been so calculative and cold, being at the top of his game with an arrogant smile.
Arjun was right in remaining calm excusing the reporters and getting back to Roongta for humiliating him in such a manner.
Arjun's past had me heave a sigh of relief, criminal records ran like an alarming word in my mind, what offences had he been charged against ? Thieving, 17 year old boy who would help a gang.
One can say being an orphan at the age of 17, Arjun could have been influenced or been in wrong company. And rightly so he has served his punishment.
The emphasis lies on climbing walls and getting into the house, this says much about his current profession mountaineering, Arjun seems to have been guided on the right path by his Guruji, for whom he holds utmost respect.
Arjun was shaken initially but mostly annoyed, I liked his stance through out, he kept himself higher and didn't let himself be judged like that for his past.
In his defence Roongta said he didnt care what Arjun was, but the fact that he lied.
At this Arjun called out Roongta for being a hypocrite as he himself was fooling people regarding the actual mission.
It is clear that Roongta is the one at the most loss in the whole scenario.
In Arjun's defense: I think Arjun didn't want to make himself vulnerable by mentioning his past to his sponsor. It is understandable, if he has been hiding his past all these years how does it matter now ? Why would Everest be any different to him, would he be silly enough to mention his past to each of his sponsor? The underlying point is that he wants to build a new identity and move away from his past misdeeds and he has every right to do so.
One thing is clear after the face off between the two. Arjun and Roongta both have an equal standing. Both need each other, but arent willing to be used either.
At the end Roongta had to bend and walk out of the room, only to later call Arjun endlessly requesting to him revert back to his calls.
It will be interesting to see the how the equations change between the two, for I feel Roongta isn't the one to take this lying down, he will get back to Arjun for this.
Lastly About Arjun being able to hide his past all this while, Idk but in India particularly people as such i.e. mountaineers arent given much exposure, neither are their personal lives a matter of much interest to the public. His word is taken as the truth, why would the media dig up his past or check who his parents were, while the news bite is always about which mountain he summits.
