She didn't supported the actions of her sons, but, did she stopped it? she did NOT!!! so "noble" of her indeed. at the DS, she did interfered, she did came in the sabha, but when? only when the asses breyed, jackaled howled and other omens of distructions were heard she came into the sabha and forced dury to return everything to yudi.

I agree that her timing of arrival at the Dyut Sabha is questionable...
And she did scold Duryodhan...it's not easy to take care of hundred sons... 😆

As for her blindfolding, well, it was both a noble n a foolish deed...just like Bhishma's vow.
It was noble bcoz it was selfless...but foolish bcoz she didnt realize the consequences...
Devdutta Pattanaik gave a very interesting explanation...
He said, it was Gandhari's way of revenge for getting her married to a blind man... 😕

Amrita. She is very clear that she wants war. She doesn't say OK go for peace process but let's invite DDSK to a duel. She wanted war. No doubt.

My reading of her blaming Yudhi- Y started all of it! He says he wanted to win HP in the DS! She was blaming him for all the greed not just for the war.

Either that, or she had cognitive dissonance😆, since Y was against KK and she wanted it.

Btw, I agree that Gandhari was a foolish girl who made an impulsive decision to adopt the same handicap instead of being her husband's eyes and ears. If she hadn't done that, instead of silently opposing, she may have been able to actively do something with her children.

She is nowhere close to Panchali, even to merit comparison.

In that way...u are actually supporting the 'Draupadi was the root cause of Kurukshetra War' theory... 😭
Yes, she wanted war...bcoz that's how things were then.
The Kauravas would never face battle by themselves...they would drag Bhishma n the whole of Hastinapur...
Karna n as a result Anga...Shakuni n as a result the army of Gandhar...n thus kings due to their allegiance got added into their side.
So even if she wanted, there would have been no one on one duel...Thus war was the obvious outcome.
And yes she wanted war...but I dont think she wanted the whole of Aryavarta to die.

Wat u are suggesting might be true...but it's going to need a lot more reading for me to get convinced of it.
😆

Amrita
I won't say she is the root cause of the war. Because people who say THAT usually mean she wanted it for revenge. I would fight tooth and nail anyone who suggested that she wanted the war for petty personal vendetta or that she didn't understand the consequences.

I do mean she wanted the war and knew the consequences but also knew that sometimes peace is a sin.

revenge or justice, in both way the war was needed. as for panchali being bloodthirsty? it was actualy shakuni's dices, bhishma's pratigya, gandhari's blinfold, dhrit's blindness, dury's ambition and many other things that were the reasons behind the war, why blame draupadi only???

I wouldnt call it revenge...I would rather call it justice.
And yes, I agree with the last part...
In Vana Parva, she clearly explains to Yudisthir when to go for peace n when to go for war.
The Ps, despite all their flaws, had atleast agreed in co-existence... even after so many conspiracies.
But after Dyut Sabha, peace was no longer a solution...So she wanted war...Not just for her own interest, but for all the people she cared about...That isnt very selfish.

Many rivers actually die out in the due course of time. The causes are plate tectonic movement, a sudden huge land movement (like great earthquake), meandering of the rivers etc.

As on date the scientists have found a huge river under the land in the regions where the river Saraswati was present thousands of years ago. Unfortunately this is too much below the earth surface to use this water in an efficient way
