Seems to me she focused her attention on Yudhi and left Bheem looking for ways to spend aggression and Parth searching for a parental figure

No wonder Y developed an addiction after all the smothering!

And Bheem developed a fixation on food

And Parth spent his life searching for strong women till he ran into a MALE role model.

Karnalis, Vasusena may have been the lucky brother!😆

EDIT - Feel bad for Kunti too. Shunted off by Shurasena first, did not receive the protection she deserved from Kuntibhoj, an unwed teen mother, then married to a man who turned out to be impotent, finally leaving her without a solid position in the household

I agree about Kunti... all these put together it made her into someone who had time only to think of survival of herself and those she loved..

^^^^ Anu, if we look at every character individually, to some extent they seem justified for doing what ever they did(some incidents have no excuse, perid). But when every person in a family (the kuru family) thinks of their personal advantage before their collective good, then things go out of hand.

I think someone mentioned here that Vyaasa packed of Satya, A&A to the forest bcoz he didn't want them to see their family's destruction. I would think inspite of the odds, u strive to make ur family better, that should have been the motive of everyone rather than saying, its destined so lets just sit back and watch the tamasha.

Yes, I too think Karna was the lucky brother.

I meant his whole life he seems to be looking for father figures and when he looked at the ladies he went for those somewhat strong in the spine.

Went through Bheeshma, Drona and finally settled on Krishna. These people weren't just family or teacher as they were to his brothers, he really appeared to want an umbilical cord connection

All 4 wives were strong willed. Could have been his 'type' in women or he could have been looking for an authoritative figure there too

I have read an article that after Pandu's death, Arjun was always looking for a father figure and he may have found one in Bhishma - but guess he had to be politically correct most of the time

I think this is more of a justification. As normally a woman can not bear 101 kids, so distribute them to 11 wives. Or else why would Dury just dislike Yuyutsu for being a half brother to him, there were others as well.

BTW did all these 11 blindfold themselves?

Sansi.. Shakuni was not in HP always.. and he did not have any vengeance in mind, for his sisters did have a happy married life..

No only the principle wife of Dhrid/ mother of Dury blindfolded herself..

what do you mean by justification? and when was Yuyutsu disliked by Duryodhan?

the 101/11 is an assumption but 11 Gandharis is mentioned in the epic...
