Ranvi - A Mahaan Hero or a frail character?

Ranvi, the big brother and the anokhi ma of Veera has undergone a personality change. He no longer seems to be what he was once and no longer stands for what he believed in. A sudden complete 360 degree turn or is it?

Ranvi as a child was obsessed with the idea of having a sister and when Veera entered the picture he devoted himself to her. She became the centre of his universe and suddenly everything was centred around her. He even ignored his mother. His obsession with his sister was such that he completely stopped living for himself but her. And back then, all of us were in awe of the little boy who defied the course of nature and being a child himself became a mother to his little blessing. Ranvi and Veera became Ranveera, the most splendid sibling duo of Preetampura.

Now as per the new spoiler posted by Mohini, he's all set to distance himself from Veera for his wife's unjustifiable insecurity. Funny or crude, it makes me sigh and wonder about a new side of Ranvi, certainly not as glorified as the Ranvi of Ranveera, coming to fore, forcing me to think if Ranveera was a farce or a shallow bond from the beginning?

As a kid, Ranvi was fascinated with the idea of having a sister and so when he had one he was completely absorbed into the baby. Like a child who's fascinated with a toy and then becomes too obsessive about it. He ignored his mother and was glorified for giving up on his childhood and becoming an adult overnight for the sake of his sister. As he grew into a man, his other needs came to fore and now he found himself in love with the Gunjan. The idea of sharing his life with the girl he sought was so potent that none of the insults she threw on him mattered and he was ready for any kind of rubbish from her. Gradually she became his object of fascination and before he knew he was obsessed with his wife. All that he stood for and fought for even with his own mother in his childhood probably no longer matters any more. It's a paradigm shift. And what a shift... if his sister's love made him a mature and responsible individual, his wife's love is turning him to puny with not an iota of self-worth visible in his actions.

Today it makes me wonder if this character was plainly glorified for his obsession or was his love for his sister really true? If the spoiler is true, then certainly the whole concept of the show has toppled and Ranvi's character is shred to pieces making him look so shallow and creepy in a true sense.

We all have ample posts on Gunjan's unjustifiable behaviour but I guess the onus falls on Ranvi too. His indulgence is adding fuel to the fire and encouraging her antics. I don't say that Ranvi shouldn't pay attention to his wife... he should and I guess he's doing a fair job at it... but where is that Ranvi who would stand like a rock if someone dared to offend his sister? This inability to call a spade a spade is soon going to bring his peril and he'll have no one to blame but himself.

My request to CVs to please make a note of what are you turning Ranvi into. He wasn't suppose to be this weak. If the spoiler is true, then it certainly is disappointing.

Ranvi has been reduced to a caricature of his former self! All he ever does is say "ji ji" to the women around him!! He only ever shows attitude to Baldev! He has NO attitude when it comes to dealing with the females in his life! His lack of balance and his insensitivity towards Gunjan at times has CAUSED the chaos to increase. Gunjan is insecure to start with. She is addicted to approval and addicted to his love. He FAILED to identify all this and continued to treat his sister like a child! That just brought matters to a terrible conclusion in the past few days!!

Now going to the MA part of the equation... Yes Ranvi was obsessive. He was crazy for his baby sister and didn't even care about his mother. He practically shut her out for Veera! Now he is going to do the same to Veera for Gunjan! He has found his NEW obsession. Ranvi can be very inflexible when he wants to be. He was willing to lose the family home over Veera's education. He didn't want to listen to reason. If Baldev had not told Veera the truth and she didn't come home, they would be in a terrible state today.

So Ranvi is NOT mahan at all. If he was, he would not be capable of this obsessive type behaviour. But what disappoints me a lot is that he no longer has ANY self respect! Right from the time the Gunjan fiasco started, he was acting like a door mat. The only time he told off Gunjan was when she called Ratan and Veera plotters who ruined her NRI dream. That was the ONLY time he acted like a man in front of her!

When he took the blame for the vanity van and didn't even tell his OWN mother the truth? I lost respect for him. He didn't care that his mother was in agony thinking her son had behaved in a compromising way! They started to say "like father like son"! Ratan was ashamed! Even THEN Ranvi stayed quite!

So why are we expecting him to now suddenly realise that he needs to BALANCE his relationships? He has NO balance and never has! He just goes to extremes at all times! So now he will go to the other extreme and cut Veera out. Once again he has proven what a useless person he is to have in your life, if YOU are not his current obsession. He has NO idea about how to be there for people and fulfil ALL his duties in the correct way!

He is a total FAIL now!! The cv's have killed the RANVEERA bond now. They have also made the RANVEERA relationship seem fickle. So in that POV, this track is a disaster!!

if his sister's love made him a mature and responsible individual, his wife's love is turning him to puny with not an iota of self-worth visible in his actions.

Perfect lines ... Veera is a blessing for him, her Company nd love made him a better person. Her made him mature that he forgave his father's betrayal. Veera is his strength.
Whereas the feelings he has for his wife (unfortunately he misunderstood them as Love) reduced him to a shallow and petty person. True love never changes you for bad, it takes you further in life for betterment.

As much as I loved chota Ranvi , I hate this grown up Version.

This Ranvi only pops up when Baldev comes anyway near to Veera. He thinks Baldev is a harm to her but he fails to see the real problem in Veera's life is none other then Gunjan.
I can officially say that ONLY Baldev loves Veera unconditionally .
Now Veera should move on from this Veerji obsession.

Even Ratan disgusted me yesterday like no other. She was fine with Veera's interference when she convinced R to participate in election, she was absolutely fine with Veera to put an efforts to re-unite RG, she was glad to see how Veera forced Ranvi to go for recording... At that time Veera and her Interferences didn't matter.
But now that all has been done and her son ishaving normal life... She says to maintain distance and learn the fact that afyrr marriage only Wife matters... Sisters should learn their limits.

This show indicates the reasons why now a days parents want their sons to live separate with thrir partner's.
Because more than DIL , its the boys who don't know how to balance between their relations.

Even I feel bad for Bhavesh! He did an EXCELLENT job making Ranvi into an epic character! He was everyone's favourite. Including mine. I loved the kid so much. I loved all the kids, but Bhavesh was spectacular! He LIVED the emotions of Ranvi!!

But now they have turned that same character he worked so hard to portray into a spineless joke! I can't believe this is the SAME guy! If he is watching the show, I am sure he is very disappointed as well!!

I think we have to be realistic. If you want Ranvi to stay as he was when he was little, than he should not have grown up. Lil' RV didn't know the world, all he knew was he wanted a sister and wanted to keep her happy.
He has since grown up and it's only natural that he has some changed traits in him. However, he still thinks of Veera before anyone else and still goes on and on about her.
Coming to Gunjun, she has many flaws but you can't blame her for wanting some attention from her husband. She is his wife afterall. i don't think her outburst was unreasonable. As a wife myself, i would not be very happy if my husband was like RV. i expect me to be of some importance in his life. I am also a sister, and as a sister i want my brother to put his wife before me.
Peronally (note:PERSONALLY) i think RV should not have gotten married. he needs to balance all the women in his life- no one person should be more important than the other, and if you want to say that there should one that is more important- than it should be the wife.
A husband and wife start alife together and they face all troubles together- there needs to be that peace of mind knowing that you are your husbands priority and vice versa.
So, i agree that Gunjun has flaws, i agree that RV is not longer like the lil RV but i think it is all natural for one to grow up and change and for one to expect importance from her husband.

Ranvi's character is shredded apart completely. They didn't know how to redeem Gunjan probably and so they pushed him in the ditch too.
