As for Baldev, I believe his love for Veera was real and you don't just fall out of love with someone. Baldev will always have a soft corner for Veera but he is just tired of being taken advantage of. Besides Veera, the sarpanch elections have been huge for Baldev and he isn't about to let anyone come in the way of his dreams especially Veera who tried to humiliate him in front of the pind.
