Part 2

Veera: "K..Kya? Tu ki keh raha hai? Tu aur main bilkul alag hai."

("W...What? What are you saying? We are both very different.")

Baldev grinned. He could tell by Veera's flustered look and defensive response, that she was just lying to herself.

Baldev: "Accha? Toh phir tenu koi farkh nahin padega agar main Preet ko pappi doon."

("Really? Then you won't mind if Preet kisses me.")

Baldev was waiting for Veera's response, and sure enough, her eyes widened in anger when he said that.

Baldev pretended to walk away, when Veera grabbed his hand.

Veera: "Ruk Baldev. Haan..main tenu kissi aur ladki ke saath nahin dekh sakti. Tu sirf mere saath reh sakta hai. Bas...ho gaya mainu tenu sab sach bata diya."

("Wait Baldev. Yes...I can't see you with any other girl. You can only be with me. There... I told you everything.")

Baldev smiled, happy to finally hear what he had been waiting for.

Baldev slowly walked towards Veera, and whispered in her ear.

Baldev: "Mainu pata tha ki tu mujhse pyaar karti hai. Bas tenu time laga apne dil ki baat ko jaanne."

("I knew it that you loved me. It just took you some time to realize it.")

Veera blushed. But then Veera got serious.

Veera: "Lekin Baldev..ab kya? Veerji aur beeji hamare rishte se kabhi khush nahin honge."

("But Baldev..now what? Brother and mother won't accept our relationship.")

Baldev did not look worried. He smiled at Veera, completely calm.

Baldev: "Tu chinta mat kar. Ab jo tu mere saath hai, ab koi hamare beech nahin aa sakta."

("You don't worry. Now that I have you, no one can come between us.")

Veera smiled and hugged Baldev. At first, Baldev was taken by surprise, but then he happily hugged Veera back.

Amrit: "Tum dono itni der kyun laga rahe ho?"

("Why are you two taking so long?")

That's when Amrit walked in and saw Veera and Baldev hug. She felt awkward having walked in at the wrong moment.

Amrit: "S.Sorry! Mujhe pata nahin tha. Never mind. Main baad mein aaongi."

("Sorry! I didn't know. Never mind. I will come back later.")

Veera and Baldev broke away from their hug.

Veera: "Nahin Amrit ruk. Main aur Baldev abhi vapis a rahe hai."

("No Amrit, wait. Baldev and I will be right there.")

Veera smiled at Baldev, and together, they walked back in to resume playing spin the bottle with their friends, but this time, they walked hand in hand, happy and confident that they had each other, and no one could separate them.

Later that evening...

Baldev and Veera had decided to call their families and give them the news.

Balwant, Bansuri, along with Ranvi, Gunjan, Ratan, and Chaiji were in Ranvi's house, eagerly waiting to know why Baldev and Veera had wanted to speak to them.

Balwant: "Baldev, Veera, hum sab ko yahan kyun bulaya gaya hai? Aisi kya baat thi ki dum dono hum sab ke saamne karna chahte the?"

("Baldev, Veera, why have we been called here? What was it that you have to talk about with us?")

Baldev and Veera glanced at each other, with Veera nodding her head for Baldev to speak.

Baldev: "Papaji, beeji, Ratan chachiji, Ranvi, aur chaiji, main aur Veera...ek doosre se pyaar karte hai aur shaadi karna chahte hai."

("Father, mother, Ratan aunty, Ranvi, and chaiji, Veera and I...love each other and want to get married.")

Baldev said this confidently, looking straight at Ranvi and Balwant.

Everyone was stunned by Baldev's declaration.

Ranvi: "K..Kya? Veera..kya yeh sach hai?"

("W..What? Veera... is this true?")

Bansuri looked like she was about to faint from shock.

Veera: "Haan veerji, main bhi Baldev se shaadi karna chahti hoon."

("Yes brother, I too want to marry Baldev.")

Everyone looked at Baldev and Veera in silence.
