I usually just air my views on an episode on other threads (mostly the JEs), but since this turned out to be so long, I figured it may be better if I made it a separate post!
I wasn't a regular viewer of this show pre-leap (though I'd watched enough episodes to know the different characters and dynamics, the basic storyline etc. and the curiosity to see what the grown up Ranvi and Veera would be like is what drove me to start watching it post-leap. OK, that and the grown-up Ranvi-Gunjan and Veera-Baldev pairing, 'cos even pre-leap it was kinda obvious that they were going to be paired off in some way! :D), and so I wasn't quite sure if I was going to be overly affected by the whole Ratan finally accepting Veera thing.
I figured I'd be all, 'OK, that happened and it was nice'.
But aww. This episode made me cry.
I found that Ranvi-Veera-Ratan group hug at the end especially endearing. Also, how effective were those flashbacks! I think all the actors did a fabulous job with it, particularly Di. (Though Ratan immediately plying Veera with food and lassi and singing her to sleep ,while gratifying from neglected Veera's point of view, did seem slightly OTT. Shouldn't these things happen gradually?)
I like Ranveera, and I like Shivin and Digangana as Ranveera. I quite enjoy their bonding off-screen, and I think that it's this bonding that goes a long way in making their on-screen bonding work as well.
(Honestly, the hugs etc. seem natural to me, 'cos off-screen, while they treat each other as friends cum namesake brother and sister, the fact is that they are mooh-bole bhai-behen/friends and can't act like real-life brother and sister, because they aren't! I don't have a saga bhai, but I do have a sister, and sibling relationships are unique 'cos you actually grow up together.
And on-screen too, it's easy for me to see the hugs etc. as being natural 'cos though it may not be how real brothers and sisters behave (which as many people have said is probably better portrayed by Gundev, and I agree with them, 'cos in the show, their relationship has always been that of a typical brother and sister), the fact is that Ranvi has never really just been Veera's brother...he's been a father, mother and elder brother all rolled in one, and so I can't NOT overlook the 'anokhi maa' thing when I see them on-screen.)
Anyhoo. Just my POV.
😃
I wonder what made the CVs make this happen at this point in the story though. Is something going to happen in the future that's going to require Ratan and Ranvi to be there for Veera or think of Veera's well-being in some way?
Oh, and I did feel a teensy-weensy bit sorry for Gunjan there at the end...can't be easy being the new member in the house and being so thoroughly forgotten by the whole family, including your husband!
Looks like the next track for Gunjan is going to be her dealing with the fact that Veera does play a huge role in Ranvi's life. Hmm. This could be interesting to watch if done well (ha, what if our earlier predictions come true and she ends up playing a role in getting Veera and Baldev together for her own benefit?), but not quite sure how I feel about it at the moment.
I'm also really curious to see where Baldev and Veera are headed. For all you know, it may be Gundev vs. Ranveera, in that, we may see Gunjan fighting with her feelings regarding the importance of Veera in Ranvi's life, and Baldev will have to face up to the importance of Ranvi in Veera's life, considering that she's going to choose Ranvi over Baldev when it comes to the Sarpanch elections.
Interesting times ahead, I think.
