What does Chaiji mean? Grandma? Is she Veera's grandma? Bua?

initially i thought its a modified version of 'tayi ji' but its not...

i think chaiji means chachi ji i am not sure though and veera and ranvi call her moti chaiji means grandmother i guess

I thnk Chaijji is used to refer an elderly female member of family...
So it can be Grandma too...

Bt here Chaiji is nt blood related to RanVeera but they consider her as chaiji..

Chaiji has been a mystery to me since the start of the show, all I know is that she is not blood related to either Ratan or Sampooran but they love and respect her like a mother

Beeji and Chaiji both are synonyms of the Hindi word 'Maanji'

Now maanji may or may not be your real grandma or granny (In case of Veera, I dont know whether the lady is real dadi or just a care taker as I don't watch Veera) But they call her chaiji coz of her age and all call her chaiji, Why? Well the answer will come from Yeh rishta kya kahlata hai if you watch it you will find almost everyone call Kaaveri as ' Babhima' be it Natik Akshra or Rajshree...similar is the case of 'Chaiji'...Though in the literal sense of teh word its synonym of Beeji or ' Maaji'

Being Punjabi I call my dadi 'Beeji'' besides I address all the other women of her age as Beeji

Chaiji too is same but comparatively old word tahn Beeji

My dad used to address his dadi as 'chaiiji and I address my dadi as beeji

there was an episode dedicated to chaiji long ago where they showed how she came to Pritampura after her wedding and never bothered studying coz bachpan se hi by God chaiji ko shadi karne ka bada shok tha...anyways so chaiji's husband died early and she never had any kids...she kinda adopted Sampooran and soon became the chaiji of the whole pind...she has no blood relation with any of the pindwasis but has been an important part of Sampooran's family...phew!

BTW iss forum ki chaiji is me😳 a few of the old members know this...
