Part 14

Baldev, Balwant, and Bansuri were greeted by Ranvi and Gunjan, and once they all happily sat down, Baldev looked at Veera and grinned. Veera joined her hands, in apology, reminding Baldev about the challenge.

Baldev got annoyed.

Ranvi: "Tayaji, woh zaroori baat kaunsi hai jo aapko humse kehni thi?"

("Uncle, what was the important thing you wanted to talk to me about?")

Balwant smiled.

Balwant: "Woh Ranvi, hum yahan..."

("The thing is Ranvi, we are here for...")

Balwant couldn't complete his sentence since Baldev interrupted him.

Baldev stood up and went towards Ranvi. Ranvi looked confused by Baldev's behavior. And so did everyone else. Only Veera knew what Baldev was upto and couldn't help but be amused.

Baldev: "Ek minute papaji. Ranvi, mainu tujhse bahut zaroori baat karni thi."

("One minute father. Ranvi, I have something important to tell you.")

Baldev glanced at Veera once more who was waiting for him to apologize to Ranvi. And then with a lot of effort, Baldev joined his hands together to apologize to Ranvi.

Baldev: "Mainu maaf karde Ranvi. Hospital mein maine tera collar pakda tha aur tujhse ladai ki."

("Forgive me Ranvi. I had argued with you in the hospital, and pulled your collar.")

Ranvi was taken aback, and surprised by Baldev's unexpected apology.

Ranvi: "Baldev, tu yeh ki kar raha hai? Maine tenu uss din hi maaf kardiya tha. Tenu mujhse maafi maangne ki koi zaroorat nahin."

("Baldev, what are you doing? I had forgiven you that day itself. You don't need to apologize.")

Ranvi patted Baldev on the back, as a friendly gesture.

Baldev smiled.

Baldev: "Changa! Toh phir gale mil jeejagi."

("Great! So on that note, lets hug brother in law.")

Ranvi smiled and hugged Baldev. Baldev was also happy. Chaiji, Ratan, Veera, Balwant, Gunjan, and Bansuri were also happy to see this.

Ranvi realized then that Balwant hadn't told him the reason for them being at their house.

Ranvi: "Tayaji, voh zaroori baat?"

("Uncle, the important conversation?")

Balwant (smiled): "Haan Ranvi, hum yahan Veera ka haath Baldev ke liye maangne aaye hai. Tenu toh pata hai ki Veera aur Baldev ek doosre se bahut pyaar karte hai."

("Yes Ranvi, we are here to ask for Veera's hand in marriage for Baldev. As you all know, Veera and Baldev love each other very much.")

Ranvi couldn't help but become stiff on hearing this. Although a lot had happened, and Baldev had truly proven his love for Veera, and Ranvi could see that Baldev genuinely loved Veera, he was still the overprotective brother, unsure if he was making the right decision.

Veera noticed this insecurity in Ranvi's expression and went and put her hand on his shoulder.

Veera: "Veerji, mainu pata hai ki aap kya soch rahe honge. Yahin na ki aap sahi kar rahe hai ya nahin. Veerji... aapki Veerakhri ab badi ho chuki hai. Baldev mainu bahut khush rakhega."

("Brother, I know what you must be thinking. That whether you are doing the right thing or not. Brother...your Veera is all grown up now. Baldev will keep me very happy.")

Now Baldev also realized that this was the time for him to assure Ranvi that he would take care of Veera.

Baldev: "Haan Ranvi. Main Veera se bahut pyaar karta hoon. Main Veera nu hamesha khush rakhunga, yeh Baldev Singh ka vaada hai."

("Yes Ranvi. I love Veera very much. I will always keep Veera happy. This is Baldev Singh's promise.")

Ranvi smiled. There was silence in the living room for quite some time. Finally Ranvi spoke.

Ranvi: "Tayaji, humein yeh rishta manzoor hai."

("Uncle, we accept this marriage alliance.")

Veera, Baldev and everyone else smiled, happy that Ranvi had said yes to Veera and Baldev's wedding. Baldev couldn't help but jump for joy, and he went and hugged Ranvi.

Baldev: "Ranvi, iss khushi ke baat par ek aur jhappi."

("Ranvi, on this good news, lets hug again.")

Ranvi smiled and hugged Baldev back. In his excitement, Baldev almost went and hugged Veera as well. Veera's eyes widened and she held out her hand to stop him.

Veera (in a whisper): "Tu paagal ho gaya hai ki? Mainu sabke saamne jhappiya dene ja raha hai."

("Have you gone mad? You are planning to hug me in front of everyone.")

Baldev realized what he was about to do, but he didn't back down.

Baldev: "Toh? Ab toh tu Baldev Singh ki honewali biwi hai. Ab toh main tenu jhappiyan de sakta hoon. Haina Ranvi?"

("So what? You are now going to be Baldev Singh's wife soon. Now, I can hug you as much as I want. Right Ranvi?")

Veera couldn't help but blush. Ranvi smiled and gave his approval.

Baldev gave a quick hug to Veera, since everyone was watching.

Gunjan was seeing all this, and was very happy for her veerji, as well as for Ranvi and Veera. She was yet to confess to Ranvi that she has fallen in love with him. But she now she had decided that tomorrow, she will definitely finally tell Ranvi that she loves him. And looking at Veera and Baldev, she knew that they would help her.

That's when Ranvi's eyes met Gunjan's and he smiled at her. Gunjan smiled back.

Gunjan (thinking to herself): "Ranvi, main kal tenu meri dil ki baat keh doongi."

("Ranvi, tomorrow I will finally confess my love for you.")

Ranvi (thinking to himself): "Kal raat main Gunjan nu keh doonga ki mainu usse pyaar hai. Aur maine usse purani baaton ke liye maaf kar diya."

("Tomorrow, I will tell Gunjan that I love her. And that I have forgiven her for her past mistakes.")

Precap for Conclusion/Part 15: Gunjan will ask Baldev and Veera to help her in confessing her love for Ranvi, but some things are going to go wrong.
