I think ratan deserved not having a girl child, the sheer stubbornness of her behaviour and her almost inhuman treatment of veera, for whatever twisted reasons, is fast robbing me of having any compassion for ratan's predicament and pain.
It was not veera but her own over the top actions that cost her, her husband and unborn child. She ran sampooran away with her hatred and now she is doing the same to ranvi through her stubborn rejection of an innocent child.
Sometimes I wish that she had not brought veera, (again for her own selfish reasons) from that orphanage where she left her as as baby for 2 days. If ranvi is getting tired of her insane hatred then he is totally entitled to it, just by feeding or clothing veera, she does not get the right to emotionally abuse her. she keeps accusing and blaming a child of 5, whenever something goes amiss in her own life.
Her behaviour is disgusting to say the least and all her pains are due to her own stubbornness whether it is the departure of sampooran or ranvi running away from home.

I absolutely disagree with you. I'm not saying that her treatment of Veera is right but you have to see it from her point of view. Think of it this way. How many Star Plus bahus have you seen forced into marriage, fulfilling wifely duties, but are still unable to provide love like a wife does. Yet, the mere suggestion that the woman should consummate the marriage anyways would really flip people out and you'll hear posts about women's rights and everything. What about Ratan's Rights? She was FORCED into motherhood for Veera. If we are a progressive society a woman has options if she wants to be a mother (raising it, adoption, abortion etc.) Except this time Ratan had to keep Veera for the sake of her son. And even if she tried to mother Veera, Ranvi would just hover over and expect everything to go his way. He expects to have it both ways. He wants Ratan to love Veera like a mother but when it comes to mothering Ranvi will only do it his own way. How many times had Ranvi told Ratan that Veera is small and doesn't know anything when she tries to discipline? AND remember that Ranvi would have mothered ANY baby that came into his life, not just Veera. If yoy dime believe me see the Amritsar track. Ratan and Veera aren't the problem. It is Ranvi that is the issue.

Sorry dear if you think anyone can prove that she is a feminist by rejecting veera while pining for Vera's faithless father then you got it all wrong.

That woman is ready to accept veera if her two timing husband comes back but has no qualms rejecting a five year old who is not at fault for anything going wrong in her life.

Another thing, if according to you the problem lies with Ranveer than he is trained by her and is a product of her upbringing. Hence, according to your theory about ranveer, if she had failed to discipline her own son how can anyone believe that she can help veera any better.

Further more she ran everyone away from her life due to her own unbending stubbornness. To tell you the truth, despite her driving a truck, a tractor and what not, the woman is still a weakling. By the way half the woman living in rural punjab, work in the fields, alongside men. Actually in every second village you see examples of many single women parenting their kids and working in the fields, for their livelihoods. She is a weak woman because she does not know how to forgive people and move on in her life in the real sense of the word. So, she may be a feminist or whatever but she lacks a basic human virtue I.e. the heart of a mother. she behaves like a thwarted wife all the time but never like a mother. she may be a provider but she is no caretaker otherwise she would not call a little girl the sole reason of her destruction.

Modernity is a state of mind and liberalism is an attitude and this woman is far away from both. She is also a typical starplus bahu trying to prove like pratigya and akshara and Sandhya that she is the best of all, and how she has borne all ills and given shelter to the illegitimate child of her late husband. But the fact of the matter is that it is her son's affiliation to the little baby that forced her to allow veera in her house, and not some intrinsic feeling of goodness.

She is a typical housewife who is still keeping true to petty feelings instead of rising above them to experience true liberalism.

Completely agree with you.

I am growing tired of her character becoming mean-hearted and small-minded. Also, I can see her missing her husband and all but there has to have been some evolution over the years of living without him. Her character is portrayed as a recent-heartbreak. Human mind and heart is resilient that way. Time makes us make compromises because there are no other options.

Is her character so immature that she is going to focus all her guilt on a five year old child who is such a sweetheart!? Very uncharacteristic! But I suppose possible ...
