Three days!
Three days ago her Raja Baja had made a spectacle of her. He had read out the letter she had written for him. Written for her Raja Baja!
A letter that encompassed her feelings for her best friend and her soulmate. She had bared her soul telling him how he completed her world and she couldn't imagine a world without him.
Last three days had been a blur and honestly she didn't know if that was the truth or her worst fears had convinced her of it..
As she walked to the class the sniggers of her classmates and the caustic comments from Dovey confirmed that all that had been a reality.
Three days!
Three days ago he had finally got his revenge ! A revenge that he had waited for 12 long years.
Everytime he closed his eyes he could see her tear stained broken face. Damn! Why didn't he feel happy about it? He wanted this. He wanted her to face humiliation but why did it hurt when he saw tears in her eyes?
He walked in the class and found her seated already. She was seated in the corner of the class - pretending to be immersed in her book. He could read her better than anyone. She was feigning interest.
Hi Dovey darling'- He intentionally raised his decibels announcing his visit
He saw her still for a fraction but she regained her composure.
Lovey! How are you darling?'- Bindu rushed happily and embraced him in a hug. He wanted to push her away but he wouldn't.
He sat right behind her. How dare she remain immune to his presence? He wanted a reaction.
Arre. Aaj kisi ko koi letter mili ke nahn. Sab mere hi liye thi kya?', he announced as the class giggled.
A fresh pool of tears threatened her eyes but no, she wouldn't cry. She was here to fulfill her grandmother's dream. She was not a quitter.
But these treacherous tears never listened to her. Two pearls fell down on her book and she quickly wiped them away, hoping he wouldn't see!
He saw the tears fall down and her valiant attempt to hide them.
Fight with me, Dammit! Fight Rani', he pleaded her in his thoughts. He wanted her to fight. He wanted her to scream at him.
He wanted her to slap him and tell him that he was a scoundrel for having played with her feelings. He wanted her to justify herself. He wanted her to react, just react!
As the class bell rang she rushed out of the class and vanished from the corridor. He rushed to the library. He went to the cafeteria.
He found her in the Principal's corridor walking with her eyes staring the floor.
Again? Really you went in again to complain about me?'- he asked her as he blocked her way.
She stayed quiet.
So, what did you tell him? Raja faked his love for me and I fell in love and then he humiliated me in front of everyone. Sir, I want you to punish him', he mimicked her.
She didn't look up, almost as if she had blocked the outside world. Frustrated, he held her by her shoulders and shook her,"I'm talking to you dammit. Kuch bolo, lado humse"
He yelled at her. All his yelling failed to get a reaction from her.
He then saw the peon walk towards them with a paper in his hand,'Yeh lo. Principal sir ne apka migration certificate sign kar diya"
She took the certificate from peon's hand and for the first time in three days looked at him in his eyes," Hum yeh college chod rahein hain. Aaj humara aakri din tha"
She walked away from him once again.
For once he was speechless. She was leaving the college. Her Chipkali ! Her Rani was leaving him again.
And he was the one to be blamed!
