This is with reference to the news items in the media regarding the show going off air. It is a sorry state of affairs on the show at the moment with the writers completely disrespecting audience sentiment and trying to shove unpalatable and abhorrent twists down their throats. It appears that they have no understanding of the profile of their audience or the sensibilities that they are catering to. The show has lost its sheen thanks to all of this!
However, the show does have a certain brand and a recall value and the leads are much loved. It is unfortunate that their chemistry has not been properly showcased or exploited by the makers. The entire cast is in fact very talented and any TRPs the show is getting is only due to their performances.
If the channel is indeed considering taking the show off air, this is an appeal to you to consider reinventing the show instead of axing it altogether.
Huge investments have been made and a certain brand image has been created. Flushing all of it down the drain in haste may not make much business sense since further capital investments will again have to be made to create a new show.
So, if an attempt can be made to capitalize on the brand value and the captive audience by reinventing the show in a manner that will effectively exploit the chemistry of the leads, it would be a wonderful idea!
Since one of the maha epis has indicated that the palace has been converted into a hotel, it might make sense to take that idea forward.
The story can be shifted to a contemporary rather than a period setting. I don't think there are any shows that are staged against a hotel backdrop and this would definitely be a novel experience for your audience. The prince can possibly consider the idea of converting the palace into a hotel and the female lead can enter either as the daughter of an investor or as a management trainee!
Such a premise would also offer plenty of scope for subplots as well. And the footage of the original show can also be incorporated in flashbacks etc in creative way to create a sense of continuity to the whole thing!
Please do consider the possibility of doing something on these lines. There is an audience out there looking for fresh and innovative content and they will surely lap the show up if presented right!
