Conversation near the lake Gayatri made it clear that he needs to make a decision.

During BRM and Ranaji 's conversation RGD expressions were good, when he said I cannot break Gayatri's heart she was fine and immediately when he said I cannot ignore Sulakshna's right her expression was "there he goes again". Then she clearly said she is not interested in the power so he can go ahead with the coronation, but she also made it clear that the decision of the husband he needs to make.

And the next day he went ahead with coronation, which indirectly he has chosen the wife as well(it is inclusive). I think that is what bothered Gayatri. Added to that all the taunts by Wilkinson and he was not even able to defend her(and that would continue)a. So, her monologue was I have to take the decision of the husband as well; you got your old love so I am will have to leave.

I think Ranaji should have bought some time for the coronation decision, stating Sulakshna's delicate mental state.

Hi angst, his dilemma, some monologues..Anything CV's...just give Sid some dialogues...He didn't say much in last night's episode. He cannot be a mute spectator in this fiasco..

I told you Sim, separation has to come for the story to move forward! 😃

Sid looks very good in Nehru jackets...no polo necks for another day..waoohhh... 🥳

G- I'm willing to bet on no physical separation.😆

There'll be a crack in their relationship for sure, as RNJ won't be reciprocating the trust Gayu has on him.
Poor RAGa their honeymoon phase will be over even before beginning.😆 Back to soa business for FL to play detective and dig out all the skeletons in Raaz mahal.

Sending her to maika will be costly, they've to have all those actors back on,plus the set.

I'm looking forward to a cold war in private.

Nobody questions her right to do that...any self respecting woman would..!

Sorry but what he said was true...how does he, as a King, ignore a prior claim...I don't think G misunderstood him on that...it may not have made her happy...but she did not misunderstand him...

She genuinely wanted to help him out of the dilemma he was caught in...so she told him that she did not care about the crown..it was not posturing...not done with the expectation that the husband would overrule the King...

She genuinely meant that he should go ahead with the coronation...but the husband in him should find ways to make the right choice and implement the same...

And the next day he went ahead with coronation, which indirectly he has chosen the wife as well(it is inclusive). I think that is what bothered Gayatri. No..I don't think it was ...RNJ, in the past, had given her the status of a Queen...but denied her the status of a wife...G is well aware that he makes that distinction...which is why she made the offer in the first place..RNJ would have defended her if RM had not reminded him that it was not the right time...he is a King who is holding court...he needs to exercise restraint...he has always stood up for G's honor..even when he was not in love with her...!

I think Ranaji should have bought some time for the coronation decision, stating Sulakshna's delicate mental state.

He was seeking time citing his own mental state..he was being very honest...but when G asked him to go ahead, right in front of BRM, he was left without any excuse..! Besides, the British official was also involved...he needed to keep the interests of the State above his own..!

I think Ranaji in the cornoation scene was quite restrained, he kept a serious face (sad) (the same during the wedding days), only looked at Gayatri few times and his only pronounced reaction was after Wilkinson's insult to Gayatri, other than this the romantic in me thought he should have been more moved by her tears 😆 So no I see that he managed well, he was in control

Yes Gayatri should have been stronger since she was the one who asked him to go ahead with the coronation, her tears were obvious, she should have showed discomfort, turned her face from them but not cry in a mortified way, I know she shed tears mainly when she saw Sula holding his arm and when he was gicing the speech about Sula, how she knows english yet didn't forget traditions... Anyways Gayatri is very emotional, it kills her to see Sula near, it makes her insecure!

I think sometimes ideas look good in the head and when they actually take shape physically their ugly side hits you on the face. RGD giving up the crown in haste is like that. she never thought thr' the implications. I would like to think, RNj was more aware and that's why he was reluctant to go ahead with it.
I think he got used to her tears😡 Govind Seth should ask for refund.😆
IMO, RGD shot herself in the foot and made a fool of her husband by letting him crown a random woman and she'll make him a bigger fool when she makes the decision for the husband too.

My dream of Wilkie meeting the Durga karag got shattered y'day. RaGa let his dirty allegations go without a protest when they met him again.

Latekate, yes. It was very evident, wasn't it? It definitely was a there he goes again' expression.

Yet, she went ahead and took the decision for him and asked him to crown Sulakshana. But, having been through a coronation ceremony herself, didn't she realise that it included a public acknowledgement of the fact that the Queen is the wife of the King? She places him in a very untenable position. Was she hoping that he would refuse to crown her? Or was she just impulsive and neglected to think things through?

While writing this, a thought came to mind.

When Ranaji crowned Gayatri as the Queen, he acknowledged her publicly as his wife, but in his heart he didn't acknowledge her as his wife. Sulakshana still ruled his heart.

Mere weeks later, he crowns Sulakshana as the Queen, publicly acknowledging her as his wife, a status that no one could deny her. But, this time around, Gayatri rules his heart.

@brown said the same thing this morning...that is the irony...and quite a beautiful one...

I am giving G the benefit of the doubt...I am hoping she didn't think it was the obsession of a husband..but rather the dilemma of a King...and as a Queen, she was choosing to step down to facilitate the decision that he was being forced to make...

Like you said, she just went through a coronation...so she must understand what it means...I think at that point, she just wanted to make things easy for him...but when the events unfolded in front of her, she was unable to digest them nor the anguish it brought her..!

These are small things that go to building the character...don't know why the creatives don't get them...Simran and I were having a private chat on the topic too...his pulling Sulakshana by the arm, his sitting on her bed...if you are taking a character down a certain path, try and avoid body language that may seem inconsistent or contradictory...

Don't know if the problem is with the script writers or the director?!

I agree with that completely. Both those actions struck a discordant note, especially when he was about to announce to her that Gayatri was his wife.

Re Latekate's post -- Gayatri's expression struck me too as a 'there he goes again' expression. Perhaps, it was not meant to. But it did.
