Beautiful post Jules!!
Damayanti must be one of the worst mother we must have come across who is ready to sacrifice her daughter becoz she confessed that she is in love!! I am glad Govindji hasn't given into his wife's wishes n supported his baby girl today!
The last line of the episode made up for the whole Epi! Gayatri is gonna be one kickass queen in future!! Just love the positive attitude gayatri has towards her life even after being called abhagan all her life by her family n society!!

Thanks Meenz!

I do not understand Damayanti! When Gayatri was drunk, she wanted to protect her from her father's wrath. She even took her in her arms with such warmth. She wanted to know what her daughter was hiding from her and when her daughter told her what she was hiding as she could not lie to her mother, she has decided that Gayatri has committed the world's worst sin and deserves the death penalty, kyu? Was she not a daughter once?

Gayatri has to be Dhami's best character thus far. The character oozes confidence and positivity no matter what the evil world wants to throw at her.

First of all, you should do episode analysis more often. All I can do is second each words of your post. (😆 I am in the process of starting this trend after a retirement of 1 year...rustiness is there in the beginning but as long as the show improves, am sure my rustiness will take a back seat😆 but thank you for the compliment)😳

Yes I was kinda disappointed in Govind Seth yesterday but today he again won me over. At least the guy spoke and threw all those hypocrites out of his house. I liked the dialogues that were given to him. Gayatri's life would have indeed got ruined had this so called alliance got fixed today. If he can give 11 lacs and jewelleries to that buddha to marry his daughter off to him, he can very well provide for her for the rest of her life with that same 11 lacs and those jewellery. (I feel when the alliance first came, he felt obliged to agree because of the alcohol fiasco and his wife's kasam. But when Gayatri fell to his feet and begged him to save her from this rotten buddha, he could not hold back and had to stand his ground. The smallest anger he had against her vanished in thin air seeing her vulnerable begging him for 1% of mercy. She agreed she committed a sin by dreaming but she like she said to him, should her punishment be that big?- I felt for Govind today, as his wife will put him in a grave situation soon and force him to strangle his jaan with his own hand. I love how Govind said till he is alive his daughter will be looked after and that he will not allow a tear to come in her eyes. That was such a sweet thing to say, even Gayatri's eyes sort of lit up then.)

It is said a mother is a best friend of her daughter and she knows her daughter inside out. However here the case is different. Govind Seth truly knows his daughter well like he claims unlike Damyanti who ended up calling her daughter a "burden" and she has been kept calling her "unlucky" from the start of the show. Such a big disappointed she is. She has a typical regressive mindset that we often see even in today's time. She even makes me feel those annoying bhabhis are better cos we know they hate Gayatri. But her mother who claims to love her and understand her failed to protect her honor when the ladkewale all were cursing and taunting Gayatri and even Govind Seth. Where did the izzat go when the hypocrites were raising their fingers at her own husband? (A father and daughter have a special bond. Girls are always daddy's girl, I speak from experience. I share a very friendly bond with my mother but I have always been a daddy's girl. I feel its the same case here with Gayatri. She has always felt more comfortable with her father as she knows her father is a man of rational thinking. Indeed Damyanti is evil and there is no point comparing her to her daughter in laws, as the latter have always had a hatred towards Gayatri and they are not even her blood so you can sort of overlook that. But she is a mother? What on earth is she thinking? How can you call your daughter a burden? Is she expecting Gayatri to kill herself? Is that why she keeps instigating her? I am amazed that Govind has not put her in her place yet if women truly had to be submissive during that era. Precisely, forget Gayatri...her husband was insulted left right and centre in his own home, tab izzat kaha gayi? Oh yeah, she fainted!😆

The only reason I loved this episode was cos to the last scene. Gayatri's positive outlook towards life is inspiring. I was missing this Gayatri frankly speaking when they made her go in that fangirl mode. She is smart, intelligent, righteous and courageous as well and knows to stand for herself when required. She was cursed, taunted and they all literally made her feel unwanted even still she showed the spirit and said if she a burden on them, she would rather stand on her own feet and be independent than being someone's wife for namesake and to show the society that she has a husband's name attached to hers. I love the response of Gayatri post all the insult. She did not let it affect her, instead she elected to take it on in a positive light. This shocked her mother too, as she thought by insulting her and calling her a burden she would back off and accept that buddha as her jeevan saathi. Kudos to Gayatri, a true inspiration.

I know for a fact though that Gayatri might be forced in this marriage but still that won't make me admire Gayatri any less today. She was the star of today's episode and the message that the cvs gave today in the episode was crystal clear for today's generation. In 1945 it was impossible for a girl to go out and work and earn for herself so I'm sure Gayatri won't get the opportunity to be independent but in 2015 it is not. So if there is any girl out there enduring all the nonsense then she should know to take a stand for herself and not be a doormat.Gayatri has tried her best to stand her ground but she must not forget that in 1940s female had to oblige because if they didnt, they didnt have anywhere else to turn. So yes, I too will not stop my admiration of her no matter what the consequences will be after the insult fiasco. I guess even today, women are not necessarily given the education to enable them to understand their rights and stand on their feet, rather upsetting really...but i hope this show works as an eye opener for a lot of people.

So far the show has been fantastic. I'm loving this pace of the show. It's perfect. Just hoping the cvs don't ruin any character and the consistency in them all. Cos I'm certainly dreading what 360 degree change Gayatri's character will take post marriage? I would want her to be a strong level headed girl that she was shown in today's episode. She won my heart. And to be honest so far Gayatri has been DD's best character for me. Fingers crossed she stays like this forever. I think the makers have elected to make Gayatri's character one of a kind. So far she has surprised us. I am sure post marriage, she will be a delight to see. Her heart will break big time but she will pick up the pieces and move on, and hopefully not chase RanaJi. I want to see her indulging in saving the palace from Bankruptcy etc and let Rana himself come to her etc. Indeed this has been DD's best character till date.

PS:- Loved Gandhiji's quotation. Jules, you have a style of your own in writing. So please do make more post. Would totally love to read your analysis. They are simply mind blowing. 😳Thanks Sanju!😛

Thanks!😳

Gayatri is not one to leave things to destiny as according to destiny she is an unlucky female. So Gayatri knows all these destiny nonsense will not help her cause hence why she does all that she can personally to ensure her freedom. I love the reason why she wrote the letter to RanaJi expressing her sentiments all the more now.

Gayatri knew she had to go to her father, if she wanted to be saved. And he did not disappoint her or the audience. It was lovely indeed..

Her character is developing in a good way 👏

Brilliantly written, I told you yesterday that this was all being shown to put light on how regressive times were so misogynistic and some of these disturbing practices still continue today. I admire Gayatri's decision to become independent. Every girl today has that chance and it is far more accessible through education being more readily available today. So gals dont wait for an undeserving husband's name just go out and become independent. Great job once again Jules! 👏
