II AGREE THE SICIETY WAS LIKE THIS ONLY AT THAT TIME...
It was very common in those days. A girl was like an object, meant to serve a man and his family. The best thing she would do in her life is to bore a child for the man she has married. According to those days beliefs, Gayatri was in better position because the man's first wife was dead. In those days such old man would keep at least two to three wives and yet visit brothels every other day. If the man is looking for other women in his life then its the wife's fault for she failed to woo her husband.Since its after all a daily soap, it was stretched a bit more. There had been situations where poor fathers had to feed the son - in -law because the father could not find a suitable match for his daughter and as marriage was the ultimate truth in a woman's life ( or even man's life in those days) the father would look for a vagabond and get his daughter married off.But Govind Seth was shown as a progressive man and would not allow anything less for his only daughter. Then suddenly this old man scene was brought in. Frankly, it lacked connectivity. It clearly aimed to show some high voltage drama to fetch some good TRPs.
right u r...but its only that no matter what SOCIETY WINS OVER FAMILY most of the times... N as I live in rural area... I still see this kinda things happening around me...Good post Mou..In that era,it was quite common to get the daughter married to even an old man..it can be seen in lit. too..but here they have shown them progressive and Gayatri ahead of her times that's why we are feeling bad..and sometimes you are helpless no matter what your thinking is and how much you love someone..his brothers are also feeling bad and that time its really a big issue to get daughter married ASAP but diff.here is that mother is in favor and mostly mother's are against it..but i see it as twist in tale and we know its not going to happen..though really feeling bad for our poor soul Gayu.ya DD was superb and Darshanji and Moon ma'am too..👏DD is indeed expression queen and she made me cry yest.ya that's our soceity was at that time.
Ya dear, can understand and we are in 2015 but things hasn't change that much..still this things happens..Originally posted by: moumita.madhuk
