I've already released all my frustration on FB so I won't say much here. But Jules, very well written post. Specially the part that it was Damyanti who carried Gayatri in her womb for 9 months and today she was ready to marry her daughter off to a man whose age is not only similar to the age of Govind Seth but also who stammers, got a dowry of whopping 11 lacs and also wanted his bride to be very perfect and a Virgin.

I agree with the point Girls used to get marry with older man if any bad omen was attached with her. But I really didn't understand logic behind Gayatri's wedding ? Gayatri belongs to affluent family where they can have young boy for Gayatri because any one agrees to marry with Gayatri after having huge dowry then why they are going with 56 yrs old damodar. Agar Gayatri gareeb hoti it would look logical but after getting birth in rich family she is treating like trash by her family.

#LMAO When he said he wanted a virgin wife, I could not stop laughing. The way he was behaving, anyone with an ounce of common sense would have refused him point blank for their daughter's hand! But I guess Govind Seth was under his wife's oath but still that does not excuse his behavior. He is one of the best characters in the show and yet the day of his butchering has began.

I hope this teaches Gayatri a lesson never to open up to her mother as she does not understand anything.

Gayatri's mother cares for her but then she is a typical mother of 1940s.
She cares for Gayu that she cant see her bhabhis taunting her or society mocking her.
But the question comes what kind of love is this when u cant see that u urself pushing ur daughter in hell.
This was bitter truth of our society back then & her mother is behaving typical way.

But CVs disappointing me more on GovindSeth's front, and that is bcoz his character was shown very progressive till now. But since this is a show, i guess they have to do such things to move story forward.
