Questions galore: (hopefully, someone can shed some light 😊)

1. Doesn't G know that the King is a widower?

(A queen may or may not appear in or hob-nob with the public but people ought to know if the King is married/single/widowed/divorced, etc.)

2. Is his being a widower a confirmed fact, i.e., body of queen recovered from the accident, and all funeral arrangements completed?
