Flashback:
''Kyun aap humpe vishwas nahi kar rahe hai,Ranaji? Aapko aisa kisne kaha ki hum charit..'' She couldn't utter those cheap words.
''Humne khud apni aakhon se dekha hai,Gayatri.. Aap itni niche kaise gir gayi? Aap toh aisi nahi thhi.. Kyun kiya yeh sab aapne? Kyun???'' his voice echoed in the hall.
''Hum kehrahe haina ki humne aisa kuch bhi nahi kiya. Yeh sab jhoot hai.. Yeh sab aapke Kuwar Chachaji aur unke bete ne kiya hai humein aapke nazro mein nicha dikhane keliye.. Doshi aapke apne hi hai..'' Gayatri cried and tried to prove herself innocent.
Thud.. She felt her rosy pink cheeks becoming hot as she felt that Ranaji has slapped her very hardly. She couldnt fathom as to what did he do to her.. She was his best friend,then,how could he do this injustice to her.
''Zaban sambhalke baat kijiye,Gayatri.. Aap humare Kunwar Chachaji aur humare bhai ke khilaf kuch nahi kahengi. Aapko itna shraey dete dete aap humare sar par baith chuki hai.. Abhi ke abhi yahaan se chale aur dobara aapki shakal humein mat dikhaiye.. Chale jaiye... Aaj se aapki aur humari dosti khatam...'' Ranaji asks her to leave.
She couldnt believe her ears. It was impossible.How can Ranaji neglect the truth? She keeps her palm over her cheeks but it was numb. Her nose and the corner of the lips were bleeding. She felt terrible.
Unable to bear the insult,she ran towards her small room and closed the door. She took out all her daily wear clothes and put them inside a suitcase. She didnt take anything that was provided from Ranaji or any other person belonging to the palace. All she took was a photo frame which had the picture of her and Ranaji. She took that frame in her hand and cried for long hours. She kept the frame in her bag and came out of her room.
She walked past those big halls,rooms and the drawing room where everyone was standing. Ranaji stood with his back facing everyone. He was sad but anger took over his brain and heart. He couldn't register the fact that he slapped his best friend who was his shadow for years,but,this one misunderstanding created a big crack in their friendship.
Gayatri went towards Ranaji with baby steps and with tears in his eyes. She wanted to see him for the very last time,but,she didnt have the courage to do that.
She softly uttered, ''Ranaji'', and went away running through the big hall and leaving the palace forever.
Flashback ends.
Present:
''Hey Bhagwaan,yeh humse kya hogaya? Jinhone humein pyaar kiya,humne unko hi apne zindagi se be-dakhal kardia.. Humein unhe dhundna hoga..'' Ranaji uttered with a sad smile.
He calls his trusted servant,Arunoday and asks him to find the whereabouts of Gayatri. Arunoday was a little skeptical but he agreed to do it. Ranaji smiled faintly and asked to be quick.
Ranaji was thinking about those happy days he spent with Gayatri. Gayatri was the daughter of the state's biggest money lender Govind Seth. They instantly became very good friends. Gayatri started liking him a lot,infact,she loved him,but,due to the differences of their background,she kept her love for Ranaji at bay and promised to fulfil their friendship with him till her death,because she didnt want to lose a very good friend like Ranaji.But,a misunderstanding took place and he asked her to leave.
After she went away,Swarnlekha,his sister-in-law told him that Gayatri always loved him truly and with pure heart. She never had any ill intentions in her mind for anyone,yet,she became the victim of lies and Ranaji's anger. Ranaji was shocked and requested Swarnlekha to tell him everything. After hearing the bitter truth,he slumped down on his chair with shock and couldnt believe her words. Swarnlekha understood his pain as she called him Bhaisaa. She is his sister first. She asked him to bring Gayatri back.
''Hum aapko wapas lekar hi aayenge Gayatri.. Yeh aapke Ranaji ka wada hai.''
