Prem came to kalpana's cabin during lunch hour...

Pr: " hey KJ... u r still working? It's lunch time..., he said sitting on the chair in front of her desk.

K: " u go ahead... it will take time...this work needed to be done now..., she said looking up from her laptop.

Pr: " it's ok... i will wait... u know how much i hate eating alone... by the way, today's ryan's first day at college right?

K: " yup... and he took his super bike..., she said making face.

Pr: " oh come on yaar KJ... Let the boy enjoy... girls love hot boys in bikes than those in cars..., he said laughing.

K: " looks like someone's speaking from their experience..., she said teasingly.

Pr: " obvious... i had the bad boy who rides bikes image during my college days... girls surrounded me like bees around honey...even now im a ladies man..., he said cheekily.

K: " gosh... get our urself macho man.

Pr: " u r just jealous... anyways, tomorrow mr mehra is throwing a party... he invited all the leading business people...and we r invited as well...we should totally go bcs it will help us broaden our business here in mumbai...

Kalpi paused typing...

K: " all the businessmen?, she asked..

Prem noticed the change of mood and knew the exact reason for the change...

Pr: " its ok.. we dont have to go if u dont want..., he said carefully.

K: " nah... its ok.. we should go... we r new in business here... we need to get acquaintances here..., she said smiling sadly.

Pr: " u sure?

K: " 100 percent..

Pr: " bring ryan as well... he needs exposure to business world...

K: " ryan? I dont know if he want to come..., she said.

Pr: " what? Shut up... i will bring him... he can't avoid all the time...(kalpi looked at prem).. i meant the business...

K: " i know what u meant prem..., knowing to well her friend's intention.

Raghav was in his room lying on his bed staring at the ceiling... All he was thinking about was his love, Kalpana... Kalpana, his soul and not even a second he forgot about her... His train of thoughts were broken when the door of his room was opened. He sat up and saw it was pakhi.

R: " How many times do I have to tell u not to enter my room pakhi?, he asked blankly.

Although he was married to her, not even once he wanted her in his room... The room that contains the memories he made with his love kalpana... It will always be his and kalpi's room... Their room...

Pakhi looked around the room... Every inch of the room contained photos and memories of kalpana, the woman who holds the heart of her husband... Hate engulfed her face but she masked it with fake smile.

Pa: " I heard mr mehra is hosting a party tonight... so, I came here to ask what time we r leaving?

R: " WE? Since when I bring u to parties? Sammy and I are going alone...

Pa: " But, i...

R: " Pakhi, please... U know I married u because of my kids... There are no other reasons.. and I made it clear for 17 years... so, yeah, just leave..., he said irritated.

Pakhi left the room and closed the door behind.

Pa(in mind): " It has been 17 years and u still cant forget her... even when she is away she has ur heart in her palm..., she seethed in anger.

Ry: " Gosh I give up!!!, he said throwing the tie on the floor.

Kalpana and prem looked at each other and chuckled.

Ry: " Do u guys find my suffering amusing?

Pr: " No buddy... its funny even after years of training u cant tie ur tie properly..., he said barely able to keep his laughter.

Ryan pouted helplessly and looked at his mother.

K: " Stop teasing my baby prem... let me help u darling..., she said going to help ryan.

Kalpana tie it around his neck and started adjusting.

K: " U know. Ur father doesn't know how to tie his tie as well... he was terrible in doing that... he was..., she stopped realizing what she was saying and looked at her son's face.

Ryan's face looked blank but kalpana can easily see the fury behind his eyes.

K: " Ryan, i..., she was cut short by ryan.

Ry: " I will wait in the car..., saying so he left the place.

Kalpana closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose.

Pr: " Don't worry KJ... He will be alright..., he said placing an assuring hand on her shoulder.

K: " I don't know prem... Ryan's hatred towards his father bothers me a lot...

Pr: " Ryan loves u so much... That's why he hates his father...

K: " But I don't want Ryan to hate him... ", she mumbled.

Pr: " I know..., he said giving a sad smile.

S: " Raghav, u look like a love-struck teenager searching for his crush..., sammy said will twirling his wine glass in his hand.

Raghav looked at him with narrowed eyes.

S: " Maya would have teased u to the end of the world if she was here...

R: " Yeah... She loved to make me embarrassed especially in front of kalpi..., he said giving a sad smile.

S: " Yeah... she did love to do that..., he said smiling sadly.

The mood changed gloomy after talking about maya... They miss her badly.

Sammy decided to change the atmosphere.

S: " Hey lover boy... look who's here..., he said grinning.

Raghav was knocked out of air when he turned around to see where Sammy was pointing.

12 years... 12 years didn't change anything... Her expressive doe eyes, the dimple that formed on her right cheek when she smiled and everything... She doesn't look like she aged a single day although it has been 12 years... To be honest, she had only become more elegant wearing that sari with hair made into a bun. His heart still skipped a beat just like the first time he saw her...She was talking to mr mehra along with prem khanna, her business partner.

K: " Prem, where's Ryan?, she asked when she couldn't find her son.

Pr: " He left his phone in the car... so, he went to take it...

Kalpi nodded her head and suddenly could feel strong gaze on her. She turned around and her eyes directly landed on those eyes she could never forget... Those eyes still carried love for her just like they did years before... Her trance were broken hearing Ryan's voice.

Ry: " Sorry mom I left my phone in car...

She looked at her son and also the man she loved more than her life... Both wearing black tux... Ryan is carbon copy of his father... Anybody could tell that Ryan is Raghav's son...

Ry: " Mom... r u listening to me?, he asked confused.

K: " Yes munchkin... What were u saying?

Ry: " I was asking where is prem uncle?

K: " Oh? He went to talk with the businessmen...

Ry: " R u ok mom? U look troubled..., he asked concerned.

K: " Im fine baby..., she said caressing his cheek with her hand.

"Dollface...

Kalpi and ryan turned around to find Sammy standing there with a wide grin on his face.

K: " Sam..., she asked surprised.

S: "Dollface..., he hugged her tightly...

Kalpana hugged him back smiling.

S: " Gosh.. I missed u so much..., he said pulling out of the hug.

K: " Me too sam..., she said smiling.

S: " dollface u still look the same... what u have been doing? U didn't seem to gain any age...

Kalpi laughed hearing his words.

K: " Well cant say the same about you when the grey hairs are sneaking out..., she teased.

S: "Still the same old naughty dollface..., he said circling his arm over her shoulder.

K: "Ryan, do u remember uncle Sammy?

Ry: " Of course I do mom... Uncle Sammy, how are you doing?, he said smiling politely while holding his hand for a shake hand.

Sammy surprised him by pulling him into a hug.

S: "Ryan, u have grown up into man... Last time I saw u, u were this little boy who always ask for chocolates from me...

Ryan smiled in return.

S: " Now u just look like Raghav when he was younger... Exactly like ur father..., he said smiling.

The smile on ryan's face faltered hearing that... He clenched his fist on the side... Kalpana looked at her son's face. Sammy sensed the displeasure in ryan's face when hearing raghav's name.

Ry: " Mom, I need to use the restroom... excuse me..., saying so he left them both.

S: " Sorry, I didn't mean to upset him...

K: " It's nothing sam... Just let it go... why are u alone? Where is maya?

S: " I came with raghav...

K: " why maya didn't come?

Before Sammy could answer, prem came there holding a glass of juice for kalpana.

Pr: " KJ... Where's ryan?

K: " he went to the washroom... And prem meet Sammy I mean Samar Raizada my friend. And sam prem...

They shook hands.

Raghav sat at his chair looking at them silently. Sammy came back and sat next to him.

R: "So?

S: "Dollface hasn't changed a bit... so happy to see her again..., he looked at kalpana who was talking to Ryan trying to make him smile.

R: " he looks upset.., he said looking at his son.

S: " I may or may not have mentioned that he looks like you..., he sighed.

R: " He hates that he looks like me...

S: " He is just angry raghav... give him sometime..

Raghav just nodded his head...

The party was going smoothly... Kalpana excused herself to go to the washroom leaving ryan with prem...

She washed her hands and adjusted her sari before coming out. She was still adjusting her pleats while coming out. She came to a stop when a pair of shiny leather shoes came into her view. She looked up slowly. Her breath stopped at that second.

R: "Kalpi...

K: "Raghav...

They stared at each other. He brought his hand to her left cheek.

R: " How are you my love?, he asked caressing her cheek.

Kalpi closed her eyes and leaned into his touch. Suddenly, the reality came to her senses. She took a step back breaking the contact.

K: " Im fine raghav... how r u? how r the kids? Gaurimaa? "

R: " They r fine..., he muttered.

It hurt that he lost the right to touch her.

K: " And u?

R: " Me? i..., he started but stopped.

He wanted to tell her how miserable he is without her... How much it hurts that he couldn't hug her right now... He opened his mouth to talk but stopped when her phone rang.

K: " I will be there in a second ryan..., she said in phone.

K: " I need to go... Bye..., she said to raghav and turned to leave but she was stopped by the grip on her wrist.

She turned to look at raghav who was holding her hand.

R: " Does he hate me that much?, he asked with glistened eyes.

It broke kalpana's heart to shreds looking at his heartbroken face.

K: " He thinks he hates u raghav... but im sure deep down he loves you raghav... u r his father..., her eyes glistened.

R: " Do you hate me kalpi?, he's voice broken.

Kalpi gave him a sad smile.

K: " You and I both know I can never hate you raghav..., she said when a lone tear escaped her eye.

Kalpi released her hand from his and left the place. Raghav just stood there looking at her retreating form.
