6^th Shot

The next morning Kalpana woke up with a heavy headache. She got off from the bed and went to the washroom. After freshening up, once Kalpana came out from the washroom her phone rang. Without looking at the screen, she picked up the phone,

Kalpana: Hello!

Raghav: Good Morning!

Kalpana: Good Morning! But who is calling?

Raghav: Kalpana, it's me. Ragahv.

Kalpana: Raghav? You could come here rather than calling me.

Ragahv: Kalpana, I am at office now.

Kalpana: Office? At this early hour?

Raghav: It is 10 AM.

Kalpana looked at the wall clock and saw it was 10 AM.

Raghav: how is your headache?

Kalpana: Tolerable

Raghav: Drink the lemon water, I put it on the side table. You will feel better.

Kalpana: I will drink later.

Ragahv felt her tone different.

Raghav: Is everything all right Kalpana?

When he didn't hear anything from Kalpana, he asked,

Ragahv: Kalpana, are you there?

Kalpana: hmm

Ragahv: Now tell me what happened?

Kalpana: Why didn't you tell me that you have to go to office today?

Raghav: I went to your room to tell you. But seeing you sleeping peacefully, I didn't want to bother you.

Kalpana: But you said, you took off for few days for me.

Ragahv: I took off for two weeks and two weeks already passed yesterday.

Kalpana: really? I been here for two weeks?

Ragahv: Yes.

Kalpana: But I didn't get to see all the beautiful places.

Ragahv: I will take you there over the weekend.

Kalpana: But I cant stay here that long. I have to go back to India. Dadi is alone over there.

"I wish, you would think about me as much as you think about others," Ragahv mumbled to himself.

Kalpana: Raghav, did you say anything.

Raghav: No.

Kalpana found his tone different.

Before Kalpana could say anything, Ragahv said,

Ragahv: Kalpana, I will see you in the evening.

Saying so he cut the call.

Slapping her head, Kalpana mumbled to herself, "What was that necessary to bring that topic of leaving?" She recalled dadi's words, he has all the right on you more than anyone else.

Every passing hour seemed like a year. She tried to watch TV, read books but she didn't find any interest. She decided to talk to dadi. After three rings, Kalpana cut the call thinking dadi was sleeping. She spent another hour in the backyard. She was so board. Looking at her wrist watch Kalpana mumbled to herself, "It is only 12 PM. Seven more hours." Something clicked into her mind. Without wasting a second, she went to her room. She wore a blue jeans and white shirt, that Ragahv bought for her from the mall.

In the office

Last three hours, Ragahv had been trying to concentrate on his work, but he couldn't. Kalpana's morning words were ringing into his ears. Does she really mean it? He thought. His chain of thought broke when his secretary entered into his room,

The secretary: Sir, someone came to meet you.

Raghav: Please tell Sam to take care of the person.

Secretary: but she wants to meet only you.

Raghav: Please, I am little bus...

Raghav couldn't finish his sentence when he heard the person waiting outside of his cabin saying, "I think your boss doesn't want to meet me. No problem, I am leaving now." Ragahv immediately got off from the chair and came out from his cabin. The person's back was facing him. Seeing the person, leaving, "Kalpana," Ragahv called. Kalpana smiled and turned to face him. Ragahv was staring at Kalpana. First time he saw her in formal wear. She wore white shirt with blue jeans and tied her hair in a pony tail. She was looking so beautiful. His chain of thought broke when Kalpana called him, "Ragahv."

Raghav told his secretary,

Ragahv: Why didn't you tell me that my wife came?

Kalpana: I told her to hide my identity. Actually I wanted to give you a surprise.

Ragahv: Come inside

Saying so he took Kalpana to his cabin.

Raghav made Kalpana sit on the couch and he sat on his knees in front of her. Ragahv was so relaxed seeing Kalpana here. He took her hands in his and said looking at her hands.

Ragahv: Thank you.

Kalpana: For what Ragahv?

Ragahv raised his head and said looking into her eyes with a smile,

Ragahv: For coming here.

Taking a deep breath, he continued,

Raghav: I was thinking of going back home.

Before Kalpana could say anything Raghav pulled her into a hug. While caressing her back,

Ragahv: I don't know why but I couldn't concentrate on anything since I cut your call.

Hearing him, Kalpana understood. She felt bad realizing that it was all her fault. Kalpana hugged him back. In each other's arms Ragna always felt peace and happiness reliving all the pain, sorrows. Ragna were in each other's arms for a while. They broke the hug hearing a knock on the door. Once Raghav opened the door, the secretary entered into the cabin with bunch of Magazines.

Secretary: Sir, media published yesterday's party pictures in these Magazines.

Placing them on the table, she left from there. holding Kalpana's hand,

Ragahv: Kalpana, lets go.

Kalpana: Where?

Ragahv: first we will do lunch and then we will go for a long drive.

Kalpana: But Ragahv, you have to work right?

Ragahv: don't worry about work. I don't feel like working now. I want to spend some time with you.

Saying so he was about to leave with Kalpana, his phone buzzed. He picked up the phone and told Kalpana to wait for him for two minutes. While Ragahv was on the phone, all of a sudden Kalpana's eyes fell on those Magazines. She noticed that her and Raghav's pictures on the cover page. All of them were taken when they were dancing on the dance floor. Her eyes widened seeing how close they came when they were dancing. Before Ragahv's eyes fell on those magazines she grabbed them and put them in her bag.

Ragna had their lunch in one of the Manhattan's famous Restaurants. After that they drove off to Pennsylvania. Ragna made the journey so exciting. On the way, whenever Kalpana found any exciting place they came out of the car and took pictures. They took selfies too.

After three hours of journey ragna reached the Amish county. Kalpana was so excited to be here and meeting some of the people here and knowing about their life style. Raghav knew that Kalpana will like this place. She took some picture with the Amish people. Seeing few children were playing in the mud, reminded Kalpana of her childhood. What type of naughty child she was when she was their age. With the help of Mali kaka, she made a hole in the backyard of the Singhania Mansion and would gather mud and jump in it. This is how she would ruin all her dresses and insist to buy more. She couldn't stop herself and started playing with them. For a moment she forgot that she was not a child. Ragahv was enjoying watching her. He missed his, this friend a lot. His friend was lost somewhere for a long time.

Kalpana was lost enjoying with the kids that she didn't realize when her dress got dirty and she didn't have any other dresses to wear. After half an hour Kalpana freshened up and wore one of Amish peoples dress. Ragna spent few hours with the Amish people.

In the afternoon, they left from there. After driving half an hour, Kalpana noticed that there was a green field. She felt like laying down on the grass for a while. Kalpana told Ragahv to stop the car. Once Ragahv stopped the car Kalpana ran toward the field. Ragahv parked his car and followed behind Kalpana.

Kalpana: It is so beautiful. Isn't it?

Ragahv: Hmm

Without wasting a second she laid down on the grass.

Kalpana: Raghav, lay down here. You will feel so much peace.

Ragahv laid down beside her making few inches gap. Once their hands touched, ragna looked at each other. They smiled and slowly interlocked their hands. That was a beautiful moment for Ragna. They were laying under the sky interlocking their hands. They wished time would freeze.

Kalpana: Thank you

Ragahv: for what?

Kalpana: For bringing me here. For a moment I went back to my childhood. I miss my childhood a lot.

Ragahv: Me too.

Looking at her,

Raghav: Kalpana, all of a sudden why did you change so much? Sometimes I doubt that is this the same Kalpana I met before I came to USA?

Raghav noticed that Kalpana's eyes were moist. Ragahv got worried. He touched her cheek and said concerned,

Ragahv: Kalpana, what happen?

Kalpana didn't say anything.

Ragahv: Please tell me. Are you hurt because of me?

Kalpana nodded in yes and came close to him holding his shirt. She hid her face in his chest. He felt her sobbing. Ragahv wrapped his arms around her and pulled her more toward him filling the gap. While caressing her back, Ragahv said,

Ragahv: I know why you are hurt. I scolded you during the holi. I noticed your changing behavior toward me after that incident. You started making difference from me.

Taking a deep breath he continued,

Ragahv: Trust me, I was hurt as much as you were hurt. I am sorry.

Placing a soft kiss on her head,

Ragahv: Please don't cry.

Kalpana: not only that

Making her lay on his arm, he lifted his head to listen to her complains. Looking into his eyes straight she said,

Kalpana: Before we got married, when you came to India, you went back to USA without meeting me. Do you know how much I was hurt?

Hearing her dadi's words started ringing into his ears, your and Kalpana's parents fixed Kalpana's and Prem's marriage. Ragahv still could feel how much he was hurt with that news. Though he dint know the reason at that time. He looked into her moist eyes with mixture of emotions, love, care, concern. Kalpana inhaled deeply as she tried to get her emotions in control. Ragahv leaned and placed soft kiss on her right eyes and then left eyes. Ragahv then slowly proceed toward her beautiful lips. He captured her beautiful lips with his hard one's claiming Kalpana only as his and never let her go at any cost. He didn't break the kiss until he poured all his love toward her through this kiss. It was a deep passionate kiss. Though Kalpana didn't response to his kiss but she could feel so relaxed. After breaking the kiss ragna laid side by side facing each other. Looking into each other Ragna fell asleep with a smile on their faces.

7^th Shot

The next morning Kalpana opened her eyes slowly as the sun rays hit her eyes. She found herself laying half on raghav and her head on his chest. She looked below to her waist and saw his both hands were holding her by her waist tightly. She raised her head and smiled looking at his face. Kalpana was just staring at him sleeping peacefully. Feeling someone's lips on his forehead in his sleep, Ragahv opened his eyes. He seemed like he was dreaming. Kalpana was laying on him holding his neck. They were staring at each other. They were so lost in each other that they couldn't realize where they were. Their trance broke when Kalpana's phone buzzed. They looked around and then looked at each other. Kalpana blushed and got off from Ragahv. Ragahv bit his lower lip as Kalpana was walking toward the road with the phone in her hand. Raghav walked toward his car. He took out a water bottle from the car and poured little bit into his mouth. While pouring water his eyes were stuck on Kalpana who was busy talking to Gauri on the phone. All of a sudden his eyes fell on a speed car coming from the opposite direction. Seemed like the driver was having problem to control the brake. Noticing the car approaching toward Kalpana, "Kalpana move from there," Ragahv screamed but Kalpana didn't hear. Before Kalpana could react, she found herself laying on the field. Something clicked into her mind. "Ragahv," the only word came out from her mouth. She got off immediately and her eyes fell on the person laying lifeless on the road with pool of blood.

Since 10 minutes Kalpana had been waiting for a car to come and take Ragahv to the hospital. Since it was a highway and every half an hour one car passed. Kalpana couldn't see Ragahv in that state. Though she didn't have drivers license of USA but at that moment she couldn't think anything else besides Ragahv. She did some google search and found out a nearest hospital. She input the address in the GPS and drove off to the hospital. She didn't care about the rules and regulations while driving. Her all focus was to reach the hospital as soon as possible. Her whole body was shaking. Somehow she managed herself and reached the hospital in 20 minutes.

Ragahv was taken to the ICU while Kalpana kept praying to God outside of the ICU, "You took my parents but I dint say anything. But this time I will not stay quiet. You eyed on the most precious thing in my life. If anything happens with him then I will kill myself. I can't live without him. Please God take me and save his life. Kalpana was very restless. She kept looking at the closed door of the ICU. One hour later once the door was opened Kalpana's heart started beating fast. She couldn't pacify her heart until she could hear Ragahv was fine. Kalpana was waiting for the doctor to say something. Doctor could feel how Kalpana went through. Placing an assurance hand on her shoulder, the doctor said with a smile, "He is fine now. He got injured a little bit in his head and his right shoulder and right arms." Kalpana was just staring at the doctor. She still couldn't believe her ears what doctor just said. Her trance broke when the doctor said,

Doctor: Mrs. Singhania, he is fine now. He is taken to the cabin and meet him there.

Kalpana nodded with a joyful tear. When Kalpana went to do some hospital formalities, Ragahv was taken to a cabin.

Ragahv was sitting on the bed. His head and shoulder were bandaged. Nurse gave him a pain killer as his whole body was paining due to the accident. After 15 minutes, Kalpana entered into the cabin. Sensing someone's presence, Ragahv looked at the door. Their eyes met. Their heart skipped seeing each other in that state. They were staring at each other with mixture of emotions. Kalpana walked slowly toward him. She sat on the bed facing him. She looked at his injured head and then her eyes fell on his injured shoulder. Kalpana leaned toward him and kissed his forehead covered with bandage and said, "is It hurting a lot?" then kissed his shoulder, "Is it hurting a lot?" Raghav noticed her face pale and drained. Her eyes were red due to continuous crying. Ragahv lifted her face to look into his eyes.

Ragahv: Kalpana I am fine. Look at you. What have you done?

Kalpana: stop worrying about me ok. What did you do? Why did you save me putting your life in danger ha. Kuch ho jata to.

Saying so Kalpana burst into tears into his arms. While caressing her back,

Ragahv: It would be even more painful for me if you would be in my place.

Kalpana: why do you so much care for me?

Ragahv smiled and asked her the same question,

Ragahv: Why do you care for me?

Breaking the hug, Kalpana looked into his eyes.

Ragahv: You brought me here without caring about yourself.

Kalpana: if anything would happen with you then I would kil...

Ragahv placed his index on her lips to stop her saying further.

Ragahv: don't you dare sayin...

Kalpana placed her palm on his mouth to stop him saying further.

Kalpana: shhh...now lay down. Doctor said you need lot of rest.

She helped him made him lay on the bed. Ragahv felt good as Kalpana was caressing his hair. After 15 minutes she noticed that Raghav fell asleep. She laid beside him and fell asleep.

Two days later Ragahv got discharged. Kalpana took very good care of Ragahv at home. She would make soup and other foods that doctor recommended for him. She would feed him as his right hand was in a cast with his shoulder. Not only that she would give him enough time so that he wouldn't feel bored staying at home. They would go for a walk, watch movie. She wouldn't go to her room until Ragahv would feel asleep.

One morning seeing Ragahv was working on his laptop, kalpana got angry and snatching the laptop from him she said,

Kalpana: Raghav, what are you doing?

Ragahv: I am working

Kalpana: didn't I inform you that no work until you are fit.

Ragahv: Kalpana, please try to understand. There are lot of pending works.

Kalpana: I don't care.

In the meantime one of his office staffs Ravi came to their house.

Ravi: how are you sir?

Kalpana: how your boss can be fine if he takes this much load.

Ravi looked at Kalpana confused

Kalpana: Cant you take care of Ragahv's work for few days until he is well.

Ravi smiled and said,

Ravi: sir, bhabi ji is right. Don't worry about work. Just concentrate on your health.

Handed over all the files to Ravi, Kalpana said,

Kalpana: take everything to the office. No more work at home.

Ravi: jee

Saying so he left from there. After Ravi left,

Ragahv: Kalpana, don't act like a biwi.

Kalpana: O, hello! I aaam your biwi. We married in front of lot of people. Showing the Mangalsutra, "this is one of the proves of our marriage." Showing sindoor, "yeh tumhara nam ka sindoor hain." placing her both hands on her waist, "Aur kuch?"

Ragahv: Thanks god, Kalpana at least realized that we are more than friendship.

Kalpana noticed that Raghav was smiling, Kalpana asked,

Kalpana: Why are you smiling?

Ragahv shook his head and said, "Nothing."

Kalpana: I am sure you are hiding something.

Something came immediately into his mind. He wanted to tease her.

Ragahv: no I was just thinking about what you just said earlier.

Kalpana looked at him confused

Ragahv: you said we are husband and wife but do we really act like a couple?

Kalpana still didn't get him. Showing the place next to him,

Ragahv: sit over here. I will explain to you properly.

Kalpana sat next to him as he said and was waiting for him to explain. Now Ragna were sitting face to face.

Ragahv: I meant to say, if you think we are husband and wife

He paused for few seconds. He leaned toward her ear and whispered, "Then what we are doing in two separate rooms?" Kalpana understood. Ragahv noticed her cheek reddened. Ragahv bit his lower lip as she ran from there blushing.

As days passed Ragahv was getting cured. One day Ragahv decided to go to office. While passing his room, Kalpana heard him talking to someone on the phone, "Fix the meeting, I will be at office on time."

Kalpana: No you cant

Hearing her, Ragahv looked behind. He walked toward her. Placing his palm on her cheek he said lovingly,

Ragahv: Kalpana, please try to understand. There are some works that no one can do beside me.

Kalpana: seems like you don't want to be cured. Once you are cured I have to go back to indi...

It came out from her mouth though she didn't want to say it. Ragahv took his hand off from her cheek. She could feel how much he was hurt. Before Kalpana could say anything Ragahv left from there. "I am sorry Ragahv, my intension was not to hurt you. Dadi is all alone in India. I am feeling bad for her too," Kalpana mumbled to herself sad.

Kalpana went outside and saw him sitting near the pool. Seeing Kalpana coming toward him, Ragahv got off and left from there.

After half an hour Kalpana noticed that Ragahv was carrying a container of warm water to his room. Kalpana walked toward him and said, "Ragahv, why do you need water?"

Ragahv: I went to take shower but warm water was not coming.

KAlpana: let me carry it as you shouldn't carry anything with your injured hand.

Saying so she forcefully took the container from his hand.

Kalpana: you go to the bathroom. I am coming.

Ragahv nodded and then went to the bathroom.

Once Kalpana entered into the bathroom, her eyes fell on Ragahv who was only with towel wrapping his bottom part. She was staring at him. This was the first time she saw him shirtless. His well-built muscular body, how handsome he was. This was the first time she noticed him. Kalpana's trance broke when Ragahv called her, "Kalpana."

Kalpana placed the container on the floor and turned to leave without giving him a glace, but her foot fell on a soap laying on the floor causing her to slip. But raghav held her by her waist. Ragna were staring at each other. After few seconds, Kalpana was about to leave but Ragahv stopped her by holding her wrist. She heard him saying,

Ragahv: Do you really mean it Kalpana?

She turned back to look at him. He pulled her toward him. Putting his palm on her cheek,

Ragahv: Do you really want to leave me?

They were staring at each other. Few seconds later,

Ragahv: My whole life was spent staying away from my family. It is very difficult to stay away from the family member when you have your own family. I got married to you. You are my family now. Do I still have to stay alone?

Kalpana was just listening to him without uttering a word.

Ragahv: I got used to with you. I got used to with your so much concern, care. If you go back to India I will be all alone. Who will take care of me like this if I get sic...

Kalpana placed her palm on his mouth and said,

Kalpana: I am not going anywhere.

She smiled and turned to leave but Ragahv stopped her again by holding her wrist. Once he pulled her hard toward him, her hand fell on the shower knob causing it to turn on the water. Ragahv looked at her as the water drop fell on her nose then from nose to her lips, from lips to her chin, then from chin to her rising bre**t. Kalpana was totally drenched. Her inner parts were clearly visible through her wet dress. Kalpana noticed his strong gaze on her.

In the next moment she felt his fingers lingered over her soft, satiny skin. Brushing all of her hair to one side, Ragahv kissed her shoulder. Kalpana closed her eyes in pure bliss. She felt his lips traveled up to her neck. He placed soft kiss there. While kissing, "Would you be able to stay away from me?" His lips then traveled up toward her lips. He was about to kiss but kalpana pushed him and turned to leave. Kalpana felt a strong grip on her wrist.

Ragahv: I am not done yet.

"Please let me go," Kalpana said while protesting to release herself from his grip.

Ragahv: Not before what I want.

Saying so he pulled her again causing her to fall on his hard chest. Both of them were staring at each other with mixture of emotions. While caressing her face, "Tell na, would you be able to stay away from me?" Raghav brought Kalpana more toward him by her waist as he deepened the kiss. After few seconds, Kalpana started responding to his kiss with equal passion.
