5^th Shot

Laying on her bed, Kalpana recalled her moments with Ragahv. She blushed when she remembered her holi nights with him. Her cheek became red remembering how close they came. She closed her eyes as she still could feel his lips on her cheeks and her neck and the feeling was so good. All of a sudden her eyes opened quickly thinking, now I will be with him alone. Her heart started beating fast. "Oh God, please save me. How I will be able to hide my feelings," Kalpana mumbled to herself. Kalpana had feelings for Raghav since childhood but she was still unaware of the fact that it was not like but love.

The next morning Kalpana went to Dadi's room. Kalpana hugged dadi and said sadly,

Kalpana: Dadi, why can't you come with me to USA?

Dadi: Beta, you already know that I can't leave this Mansion like this. By the way you are married now. You have to spend more time with your husband. You can't drag me everywhere you go. I want you come to India when Ragahv will come and go back to USA with him.

Kalpana: Now I got it. You really wanted to get rid of me sending me away from you so that I can't bother you right?

Hearing her dadi smiled and said,

Dadi: You are right. Now I want you to bother your husband.

Kalpana: Achcha. Then don't cry for me and tell me that you are missing me.

Kalpana looked at dadi whose eyes were already filled with water. After she lost her parents this was the first time Kalpana was going away from dadi.

KAlpana: dadi, what is this for?

Dadi: I know I will miss you but you have to understand beta. I won't be able to stay with you all the time as I got old and I have to leave you all one day soon. Now Raghav is your everything. You are very lucky to have Ragahv in your life as a life partner. I know how much he cares for you. He will try his best to keep you happy.

Kalpana: ok dadi I will go but please never ever say that you will leave us soon.

Dadi placed a soft kiss on Kalpana's forehead and said,

Dadi: ok baba, I will not. But promise me you will give me good news soon.

Kalpana looked at dadi confused.

Dadi: I meant to say pregnant wala good news.

Hearing dadi, Kalpana blushed and left from there.

On the other hand Ragahv was so excited. He had been living alone since now. Now his childhood princess, actually his real life princess was coming to live with him. The feelings was so good. He made lot of changes in his house. He painted and refurnished his whole house. With the thought of Kalpana was going to share his wardrobe so he extended the Almirah along with his bed.

Before Kalpana left for USA, her friends came to the Mansion to meet her. Purvi gifted her a saree and told her to wear it in any special occasion. Without looking at the saree she put that in the luggage. Before they left her friends wished her luck. After they left she did some shopping for herself and Ragahv.

At night dadi helped Kalpana to pack her luggage as her flight was tomorrow morning. Kalpana went to sleep when her phone buzzed with a message. A smile appeared seeing the message from Ragahv as this was the first time he messaged her after he left for USA.

Ragahv: So, how is the preparation?

Kalpana: Good

Ragahv: Hmm, ok, see you then.

Dadi came to the airport. She tried very hard to control her tears as she didn't want to make Kalpana upset. On the other hand though Kalpana was excited as she was going to USA to Ragahv but at the same time she was sad as she was leaving dadi here in India alone.

After 24 hours of journey finally Kalpana reached in New York. One of her luggages was missing. After complaining missing report, she came out of the airport. She saw Raghav was waiting for her with her favorite flower holding in his hand outside. Seeing Kalpana, Ragahv walked toward her with a smile. Raghav said handing over the bouquet,

Ragahv: Welcome to USA.

Kalpana: Thank you.

Ragahv guided her to his BMW X6 Jeep. Then he drove off his car to his house to Long Island. While driving, Ragahv noticed that Kalpana was sitting quietly. Her only focus was outside. Ragahv broke the silent saying,

Ragahv: So how was your journey?

Kalpana: good.

Ragahv: Kalpana, you didn't do any shopping as I can see you have only one luggage?

Kalpana: Oh, actually, I forgot to tell you that one of my luggages is missing.

Ragahv: Don't worry you will get it.

While talking to each other finally ragna reached their home.

Ragna stood in front of the house. Kalpana noticed that the swimming pool in front of the house increased the beauty of the house. "Wow!" the only word came out from her mouth amused. Hope she will also like inside of the house as she has to stay here, Ragahv thought. After showing the front yard and back yard Ragahv entered into the house with Kalpana. Once Kalpana entered into the house her eyes fell on a wall where there was written Welcome to Home'. Within a second, she felt herself showered by rose petals. Kalpana was so surprised and happy at the same time as she never thought that her welcome will be that special.

Ragahv: Welcome home Kalpana

Kalpana: Thank you.

"Come let me show you the house," Saying so Ragahv showed the house. It was a duplex. On the first floor there was a big living room with attached dining, kitchen, gym room, pool room, office room. On the second floor there were five bed rooms. Two guest rooms, two kid's rooms and one big Master bed room with a big Balcony. Kalpana liked the interior of the house. On top of that Ragahv furnished the house to make it unique.

Kalpana: Ragahv, I really liked the house.

Ragahv: Thank you.

Kalpana was surprised thinking how beautifully Ragahv maintained the house. No one could say that no woman lived here in this house.

Then Ragahv took Kalpana to the Master bed room. "This is our bed room," Saying so he walked toward the Almirah and showing the empty space beside his clothes in the Almirah, Ragahv said, "KAlpana, you put your clothes over here. I am going downstair to arrange something for the lunch, in the mean time you freshen up." Ragahv turned to move when Kalpana said, "Ragahv, where is my room." First Ragahv was confused for a moment then realized what she meant. "Shit how I forgot," he mumbled to himself.

KAlpana: did you say anything?

Ragahv: Noh

Seeing him looking at her, KAlpana asked, "Ragahv, my room."

Ragahv: Oh, yah sure. You stay in this room. I will shift to the next room with my belongings.

Kalpana: No Ragahv. You stay here. I am going to the next room as all your belongings are already here and only for few days I don't want you to shift.

"For few days?" Ragahv asked confused.

Kalpana: yes in few days I am going back to India na.

"Lo, she just came and now she is talking about to leave," Ragahv mumbled to himself.

Kalpana went to the next room though Ragahv insisted her a lot. After freshening up when Kalpana opened her luggage she noticed that the missing luggage had all her sarees and designer dresses. Hope I will get my luggage back soon, Kalpana thought. After putting her clothes in the almirah, Kalpana came downstair. She saw Ragahv was warming foods. "Let me help you," hearing Kalpana Ragahv turned and said,

Ragahv: No, you sit on the chair. Today you are my guest and I am your host.

Kalpana sat on a chair and watched Ragahv how he was organizing the table. In few minutes she noticed that Ragahv filled the whole table with different dishes, fruits, deserts.

Kalpana: Ragahv you made all the dishes?

Ragahv: Yes. For you.

Kalpana: Oh My God Raghav! How you did all these?

Ragahv: First taste them and then tell me how it was.

After tasting all the delicious foods, Kalpana said, "I really can't believe it Ragahv."

Ragahv: How was it?

Kalpana: all the dishes are so delicious.

Ragahv: Thank you. Glad you liked them.

Kalpana: you didn't need to do all these for me Ragahv.

Why not Kalpana. You are very special. Someone very special in my life, he said in his mind. His trance broke when Kalpana said, "Ragahv I want to talk to dadi. She said she will stay awake until I call her." Ragavh dialed dadis number,

Dadi: Hello Ragahv. Did Kalpana reach on time?

Ragahv: Yes dadi.

Dadi: Let me talk to her

Kalpana: Dadi how are you?

Dadi: I am good beta. Now tell me everything in details.

Kalpana was confused and asked,

Kalpana: What do you want to know?

DAdi: Tell me everything, how Ragahv treated you, blah blah ...

Kalpana looked at Ragahv who was already looking at her trying to hear their conversation.

Kalpana: Good dadi.

Dadi: Only good.

Kalpana: no very good.

Dadi: Now tell me in details.

Kalpana: Vo dadi..actually vo

Dadi: Is Ragahv there?

Kalpana: ha

Dadi: Ok then go to a different room then talk to me.

"Okay," Saying so Kalpana left from there leaving Ragahv confused.

KAlpana went to her room. After fixing herself on the bed,

Kalpana: Dadi, you won't believe, what he did for me.

Then she started telling dadi how Ragavh welcomed her, he made all the delicious foods only for her...

Dadi was just listening to her without uttering a word. After hearing her,

Dadi: Hmm I never thought this khadoos would be that romantic.

Hearing dadi, Kalpana said upset, "Dadi, don't call him khadoos."

Dadi: Achcha. If you are forgotten then let me remind you. When you would be upset on him it was you who would call him as khadoos. And now all of a sudden your khadoos badal gaya.

Hearing her Kalpana smiled shyly.

Kalpana: Okay dadi, you go to sleep. Let me go downstair. Ragahv is waiting for me.

Dadi: ok, good night.

Seeing Kalpana coming toward him, Ragahv asked,

Ragahv: Kalpana, what was that necessary that you had to go away from me to talk to her?

Kalpana: Nothing.

Ragahv: sure?

Kalpana: sure.

I know dadi very well. She must be putting something in Kalpana's mind, Ragahv thought. He noticed that Kalpana felt sleepy.

Ragahv: Kalpana, you go. Take some rest. In the mean time I will finish some office work.

Kalpana went to her room.

It was 9 pm. Ragahv went to see if Kalpana woke up. Once he entered into her room his eyes fell on Kalpana as she was sleeping hugging herself due to the cold. "Oh shit, I forgot to give her the blanket," mumbling to himself he went to his room and grabbed the blanket from his bed and came back to her room. He covered her with the blanket and before he came out of her room he closed all the windows of her room. He stopped at the door. He turned his head and seeing Kalpana sleeping peacefully he felt relaxed and came out of the room.

The next morning when Kalpana woke up, she saw that Ragahv was reading newspaper sitting on the couch. "Good Morning," Hearing Kalpana Ragahv moved his eyes from the newspaper.

Ragavh: Good Morning. How was your sleep?

Kalpana: Good. I was so tired that's why couldn't realize how time passed.

Ragahv: No problem. You go, freshen up. We will do breakfast together.

Kalpana: Hmm.

While doing breakfast, Kalpana said,

Kalpana: Raghav, you are not late for the work?

Raghav: I am not going to office. I took off for few days. I want to show you the beautiful city.

On the first day they did lot of shopping. They went to the mall to buy some western dresses for Kalpana.

Then Ragna visited all the beautiful spots in New York city. Kalpana was so happy. First of all she was visiting all the beautiful spots and she was with Ragahv. As time passed Kalpana started liking his company, her shyness was decreasing toward Ragahv. On the other hand Raghav tried his best to make her happy.

Last few days ragna ate outside that's why Kalpana thought to cook at home today. After freshening up when Raghav came down stair to tell Kalpana to get ready as he had planned to take Kalpana to visit another spot. He saw Kalpana in the kitchen making lunch for both of them.

Ragahv: Kalpana, why are you doing this? We can eat outside.

Kalpana: I am bored eating outside.

Ragahv: Ok then let me make food.

Saying so Ragahv took the knife from her and started chopping vegetables. Taking back the knife Kalpana said,

Kalpana: No, I will make food today. You do your job and let me do mine.

Ragahv: Kalpana, you cant do it alone. Let me help you.

Kalpana: No, I can do it.

Ragahv: Are you sure?

Kalpana: yes

Though Raghav didn't like her to work in the kitchen but at the same time he was happy thinking Kalpana slowly took this house as her own. While Raghav was talking one of his office stuffs, all of a sudden he noticed that Kalpana was trying to reach the flower jar from the cabinet. He cut the call and

Ragahv: Kalpana wait. Let me help you.

Kalpana: No, I can do it.

Ragahv: It is too high for you. Let me get it for you

Kalpana: Why do you always come to help me? Do you really think that I cant do anyth...?

Kalpana couldn't complete her sentence as she found herself covered with the flour.

Raghav: yah, I can see how much you can

First Ragahv tried very hard to control his laugh but at last he burst into a loud laughter. On the other hand Kalpana was fuming in anger thinking Ragahv was making fun of her. Holding a mirror in front of her,

Ragahv: Look Kalpana, you are looking like a snow woman.

Pushing Ragahv aside Kalpana walked toward her washroom. While walking,

Ragahv: Kalpana, do you really think that you can wash yourself?

Kalpana turned and gave him an angry look and then walked toward her room. While washing herself, Kalpana mumbled to herself angrily, "How dare he laugh at me? You have to pay for it Mr. Singhania."

After freshening up Kalpana searched for Ragahv. When she didn't find him, she went outside of the house and saw him talking to someone on the phone facing his back to her. She noticed that he was standing near by the swimming pool. Something came up into her mind. She slowly walked toward him and stood behind him. "Ragahv," hearing Kalpana, Ragahav turned and within a second he found himself in the pool. Wiping his face he said

Ragahv: Kalpana, this is not right. I already took shower.

While laughing, Kalpana replied,

Kalpana: Then do it again na Mr. Singhania.

Saying so Kalpana started walking toward the door. All of a sudden she heard, "Ouch!" Hearing Raghv, Kalpana walked toward the pool.

Kalpana: Raghav are you ok?

When Kalpana leaned forward toward the pool, Ragahv pulled her into the water by her hand. Now both are in the pool.

Kalpana: Raghav, this is not fair ok. I already took shower.

Raghav: Then do it again na.

Hearing him Kalpana took some water and splashed them to his face. Raghav also did the same to Kalpana. All of a sudden rain started. They looked up into the sky and were enjoying the rain drops falling on them. They enjoyed swimming together as much as they enjoyed the rain.

In the rainy day Kalpana thought to make some pakora. Ragahv was in his room. Feeling some smell Raghav came to the kitchen. He saw Kalpana was frying Pakora with a smile on her face. He noticed that her face was covered with some strands. He walked toward her. Feeling someone's presence Kalpana looked up. Raghav raised his hand and pushed a strand of hair off her forehead slowly. While doing this, their eyes met for few seconds.

Raghav: Vo actually I came here ...

Raghav forgot why he came here.

Kalpana: Raghav eat Pakora. I made it for you.

Raghav: Yah.

Saying so Ragahv took the most warmest one causing him to burn his finger. "Ouch," Hearing him, Kalpana said tensed, "Raghav be careful." She put his burn finger into her mouth. Raghav was just staring at her. Seeing him staring at her, Kalpana slowly brought his finger out from her mouth. She left from there shyly leaving Ragahv smiled alone.

Laying on her bed Kalpana recalled her moment with Raghav earlier in the kitchen. When she was lost in her thought, her phone rang. She picked up the phone,

Dadi: Why did you take too long to pick up my call?

Kalpana: Vo. Actually I was thinking...

Dadi: Thinking about me?

Hearing her Kalpana smiled

Dadi: Don't tell me that you are thinking about him when you both are alone under the same roof.

Kalpana smiled again.

Dadi: Now a days Ragahv forgot me. He doesn't talk to me that much.

Kalpana: Dadi wait, let me make you talk to him.

Dadi: Where is he now?

Kalpana: he is in his room.

Dadi: And you?

Kalpana: I am in my room.

Dadi: Kalpana, you both don't sleep in the same room?

When dadi didn't hear anything from Kalpana, dadi continued,

Dadi: Look Kalpana. You both are not friends anymore. You became husband and wife. You have to move on with this new relationship? Raghav has all the rights on you as much as you do. I know Raghav very well. He is totally different. He will not come close to you as long as you will not allow him. I still can remember your dada ji never spent a night without me. Just think, how a husband feels when he has a young and beautiful wife in front of him and he can't do anything.

Kalpana was just listening to dadi without uttering a word. She remembered how Raghav was happy thinking she will share his bedroom at the first day when she came here.

Dadi: Break the wall. Beta, you have to take this step as soon as possible.

That night Kalpana couldn't sleep. Dadi's each and every words were ringing into her ears. Somehow dadi was right, she felt.

The next morning, Kalpana made coffee for Raghav and walked toward his room. She stopped at the door. After the first day this was the second time she was hesitating to enter into his room. When she remembered dadis words, she gathered courage and entered into his room. Her eyes fell on Raghav's sleeping face. A smile appeared on her face as she found him so innocent in his sleep. She sat on the couch and was waiting for him to wake up. After 15 minutes once Raghav opened his eyes his eyes fell on Kalpana. He was staring at her which became his habit now after he returned from India. She was looking so beautiful. Her damp hairs fell on one shoulder while the other had the stole. When he heard Kalpana saying, "Raghav your coffee," then he realized that he was not dreaming. Kalpana was there in his room for real. Before he got caught staring at Kalpana, he got off from the bed and came to the couch. He sat beside her when Kalpana was mixing his coffee with milk. While taking the cup from Kalpana's hand, their hands touched. "Oh, I am sorry," saying so Raghav moved his hand. Dadi was right. I have to take the step, Kalpana thought.

In the evening ragna went to the Brooklyn Bridge. They felt so good walking side by side in the mild windy under the bridge. They had less conversation; they were just watching them from the corner of their eyes. All of a sudden their hands touched causing them to look into each other's eyes. Both smiled and moved their hands. After few minutes, Kalpana touched his fingers with her on purposely. Raghav stood there. He felt her interlocked her hands with him. He smiled. Ragna then walked toward the car interlocking their hands.

Few days later when Raghav's friends got to know about Kalpana, they organized a party in any five star hotel specially for Ragna. Raghav was as excited as he was going to introduce Kalpana as his wife to the world today. His college friends, Business Associates, clients, office stuffs, his teachers, media people everyone will be there to welcome this newly wedded couple. Party was in the evening. Ragahv told Kalpana to get ready by sharp 6:30. When Kalpana went to get ready she didn't realize that her luggage was still missing with all the designer sarees and dresses. She thought to try something else she had now. She opened her almirah and her eyes fell on the packet her friends Purvi gifted her. She opened the packet and saw a beautiful saree but she didn't like the blouse. It was too open. She had no other option but wearing this. Looking at her in the mirror, she noticed her figure clearly visible through this saree. She started cursing Purvi to gift her, this type of saree. I know Purvi did it on purpose, Kalpana thought.

On the other hand Ragahv was waiting for Kalpana to come down in the living room. He looked at the wall clock. It was 6:30 PM already. He went upstairs and waited for KAlpana in front of her room. After waiting of 30 more minutes, he called her,

Ragahv: Kalpana you got ready? It is already 7:00 PM.

Saying so he was about to knock the door, but the door was opened. In the next moment, Ragahv was in awe. He still couldn't believe what he just saw coming out from the room. Is it really Kalpana? Raghav thought. Raghav stared at her from top to bottom.

Biting his lower lip, Hmm she is not only looking beautiful but damn hot, Raghav's trance broke when Kalpana said, "Challey? Aren't we getting late?" "Yah," saying so raghav came outside and Kalpana behind him.

Once Ragna reached the place, everyone gave them a warm welcome. Raghav introduced Kalpana with everyone. Raghav heard his friends whispering to each other, "She is so gorgeous." Ragahv felt so proud. Few of his female friends took Kalpana with them while his male friends him. While everyone was busy talking to each other, Raghav only watched Kalpana with the corner of his eyes and Kalpana noticed his glances on her. Not only Kalpana but his friends also noticed this. Ragahv turned his head when one of his college friends Abhay said,

Abhay: Achcha to iskey intejar me apna shadi ka umar par kar diya.

Hearing him Ragahv didn't say anything but just smiled. Somehow Abhay was right he felt.

Abhay: I must say, she is not only beautiful but hot.

Raghav: Abhay, don't forget that you are talking about your bhabi.

Abhay: Ok baba, sorry. You continue your staring; I am leaving closing my eyes.

Raghav's US friends were also very friendly. Kalpana was young that's why everyone called her by her name instead of calling her bhabi. When Media people were taking some snap of Ragna, they heard everyone saying, "Looking good together, best jodi, gorgeous couple." Ragna felt good thinking they were now couple.

The party was going on in full pleasure. People were enjoying the party. They arranged some singeres to entertain guests. After the dinner only Ragna were called to the dance floor. Ragna looked at each other and smiled. Taking Kalpana's hand in him, Raghav walked toward the center of the dance floor. Raghav took her one hand and placed it on his shoulder, while his hand went to her waist automatically. It was a slow romantic music. Making little distance both of them started swaying with the music. People were enjoying watching the couple dancing. While dancing, Kalpana said,

Kalpana: I liked this party

Raghav: Aur?

Kalpana: I liked your friends. They are really friendly and nice.

Raghav: Aur?

Kalpana: I liked the food.

Raghav: Aur?

Kalpana: Aur?

Raghav: Hmm. You liked the party, you liked my friends, you liked food.

Raghav: you didn't say a word about me.

Kalpana blushed and looked down shyly.

Raghav: You didn't ask me what I liked the most.

Kalpana was about to say something but stopped when Ragahv said,

Ragahv: you.

Saying so Raghav whirled her once and then brought her closer to him. They were as lost as they couldn't realize about the surroundings. Both of them were staring at each other. They shared an intense eye lock. Media people took snaps of their close shot. Slowly the dance floor filled with other couples.

Before ragna left Ragahv thanked everyone to arrange this party specially for them.

On the way to home in the car, Kalpana felt the journey was so good. She didn't want the journey ends so soon. All of a sudden she felt dizzy. Raghav noticed this and asked,

Ragahv: Kalpana, are you ok?

Kalpana: Hmm

Ragahv: You feel sleepy

Kalpana: Actually, by mistake I took a sip of a drink thinking soft drink.

Raghav: You will be fine after taking a nap.

Kalpana: But I don't want to sleep now. I want to enjoy this night.

While their car was passing the globe, Kalpana told Raghav to stop the car.

Kalpana: Raghav I want to go there.

Once Raghav stopped the car, Kalpana came out of the car and walked toward the globe. She took off her shoes and then started circling around the globe with her arms widened like a kid.

Raghav was watching her enjoying leaning back to the car.

After few minutes when she felt that she was having problem to stand due to her dizziness, she walked toward Raghav. While walking, she was about to fall but Raghav caught her holding her waist. Kalpana looked at Ragahv and smiled.

Kalpana: Thank you. You are always there for me.

Saying so Kalpana hugged him. Raghav felt some strange feelings in her proximity.

Raghav: Kalpana, I think we should leave now.

But Kalpana didn't want to leave now. She wanted to stay here in Raghav's arms.

Kalpana: ek baat bolu? (Can I say something?)

Raghav: Hmm.

Kalpana: I never liked Prem. When our parents fixed our marriage, I was not that matured to understand the actual meaning of marriage. As I grew an unknown fear started growing inside me. One day before I was getting married to Prem, I cried a lot. If he would show up...?

Ragahv could feel her sobbing in his arms.

Kalpana: What if he comes back

Raghav could feel her tighten grip. Raghav knew very well that he was the only one kalpana would feel comfortable with since child hood. Holding her tightly in his arms,

Ragahv: Shh..dont cry, I won't let anyone snatch you from me.

Breaking the hug, Kalpana said innocently,

Kalpana: Sachchi

Raghav wiped her tears and nodded in yes.

Kalpana hugged him. Returning his hug, Ragahv started caressing her back. KAlpana felt relaxed as this was the arms where she always wanted to be. On the other hand Ragahv held her protectively making her realize that she was only his. Ragna were in each other's arms for a long time. They just wanted to be leaving everything behind. Raghav opened his eyes with the sound of honking. He looked down and saw a sleeping beauty sleeping peacefully in his arms. He scooped her in his arms and proceeded to the car.

Ragna reached home. Lifting her in his arms Ragahv walked toward her room. He placed her on the bed and covered her with the blanket. Pushing a strand of hair off her forehead, he placed a soft kiss there. "Good night princess," Raghav whispered and then left from there.
