Kalpi bit her bottom lip out of nervousness, the silent was killing her. She watch gauri from the back and observe her outfit. She couldn't help but to envy her a little, sighing she looks back down to her feet. When they stop she gave gauri a question look. Gauri just looks at her "you see this door" she says making kalpi nod, "this will be where you stay", confuse kalpi frown "but mam, this is a dry storage room"
"I know, since you broke my 1.5 k vase, you will pay it off by your hard work. If you don't pay it than I will send you to jail" she says making her gulp. "Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes mam" she says to horrify to say anything, she watch as gauri walk away before entering the dry storage room. While looking she realize how small the room was, and there's no bed. "I will have to buy a water bed" she says before putting her stuff down, and walk out the door. This place is so big, I will have to draw a map, she thought, while exploring she saw someone. "YOU!" she scream pointing to the girl. When the girl saw kalpi she ran, making kalpi chase after her "COME HERE!" she says
"I'm sorry but I'm busy right now, talk to you later", kalpi chase after her until they reach the laundry room, when they were in she close the door and the girl started rambling "please don't hurt me, I'm sorry" she says putting her hands together in an apologetic way, kalpi came closer to her before reaching out for something "here you drop this, when you broke the glass"
The girl taken by surprise look at what kalpi was talking about, only to see her bangles. "Why are you giving this to me" she says, confusing kalpi "because it's yours"
"But I put the blame on you" she says guilty
Kalpi smile "don't worry about it, I've been through worse" she says thinking about her dad almost feeding her to the snakes for almost burning the village. Just the thought of it made her shiver, Baba can be very scary at times, she thought. "But still, I shouldn't have blame it on you" she says
"Look, its fine. i would have done the same after seeing gauri", when she said this the girl gasp making kalpi confuse " you can't say her name kalpi, you either say madam or Mr.singhania"
Kalpi brushed her comment aside, before introducing herself, once she did that, the girl smile and said her name, which was rachna. They spend the remaining hour getting to know one another, before they heard the bell. "We better go its dinner time for the family" she says hurriedly
Kalpi not knowing where she was going tries to keep up with her new friend. While running she bumped into something or someone. Looking down she asks if the little girl was ok, Aadita looks to see her and was surprise " you're the lady from yesterday" she says confusing kalpi, she tried to remember who the little girl was but she just couldn't. " who are you?"
Aadita frown when she said this " you gave me a stuff doll and said I should smile more"
Hearing this kalpi thought about it " I didn't give you a doll kid, If I did I would remember" she says, making Aadita frown. " but you did, you were riding a bike and had balloons in your hand" she exclaim, but ones again kalpi denies it. When kalpi heard her name being called, she excuse herself and follow her friend. The little girl feeling confuse walk away silently.
As the day progress guari made kalpi know everything she needs to know. By the time kalpi reached her room, she was exhausted, she put her blanket on the floor and gets ready for bed, just when shes about to lay down her phone rang. She frowns when she saw who it was, "Hello doctor" she says in annoyance
The doctor frown "Kalpana you've been ignoring my calls for a while now" he says making her nervously laugh "I was saving an elephant from being eaten by a tiger" she claims, "So for the past few years you've been doing the same thing"
"No, the other time I was running from the elephant that I saved"
"And why is that, if you saved it"
"Because he thought I was his wife" she says
The doctor sighs "kalpana enough with the stories, you need to take your health seriously" , kalpi tries to argue back by telling him she does, but he wouldn't listen "it could get serious, if you don't take your med"
"I do doctor"
"Really, when was the last time you came to the pharmacy"
"Umm, two days ago" she says, the doctor shook his head and told her that the pharmacy called him saying she hasn't been there for six month. Hearing this made her gulp. "But doctor I've been getting better, I haven't been sleep walking in a while" she says
"Really, you sure you didn't do something and forget the next day", when he said this kalpi remembered the little girls word. She gasp, I think I did meet her on the way home, she thought, the doctor hearing this asks her whats wrong, " doctor-ji , I think I was sleep riding on my bike, and I met a little girl who says I gave her a doll."
"Sleep riding... was your eyes open" he asks
"I think so" she says
"See this was what I was talking about, you need to take your meds kalpana"
"Your right doctor, I will"
"Good, I will send a pill to the pharmacy and you better pick it up tomorrow" he says
"I will" she says before hanging up, while sleeping she couldn't help but blame her baba for this. If he didn't leave her in a hut for two days, she wouldn't have zone out of reality every time she sleeps and sometimes in a bad situation. Just thinking about it made her frown, she knew it was her punishment for ruining her first marriage when she was twelve, and because of that her father locked her up not knowing that his enemies were watching. So when her dad was gone, they came the next day to burn the hut, by that time she was already scared and was feeling suffocated. She didn't know what was happening outside, when they pour the oil and light the match. It wasn't until she smelt smoke that she started panicking and going crazy. She remembered shouting for help, but no one was around, soon the smoke took over the hut, and she started coughing.
"Help" she says, but no one heard her, while searching she saw a snake trying to escape as well, she watch as the snake entered a small whole and left. Soon she followed, almost to the exit but she was too weak to pull herself forward. Before she fell unconscious she thought she saw a young boy, pulling her out of the whole "Bhai" she says before going to sleep.
While trying to sleep kalpi realize something, she remembered thanking her brother and he told her he didn't save her and that someone did, she had asked who but her father told them that the boy was bitten by a snake, and they never saw him again. Her father also told them that the poison was very deadly, so the boy probably didn't make it. When kalpi heard this, she was devastated and cried for a weak. Poor boy, she thought, because of her he never got to live his life to the fullest.
The next day, while kalpi was heading out. She saw Aadita going inside the car once again frowning, she wondered what could have made her like that. Once she left, Raghav came out talking on the phone. When he saw kalpi with her umbrella opened and staring into space, he snuck behind her and leaned forward "BOO!" he says, making her drop her umbrella and slip on the rain, if it wasn't for raghav hand wrapping around her stomach area and pulling her towards his chest, she would have fallen face flat on the floor.
Surprise, she turn to face him forgetting their position, "Are you mad, Bhai?" "I could have been hurt" she says, but she was cut of by raghav" Its Raghav" he says confusing her, "Mai apan" bh', kalpana nah kara rah hm, I'm your boss" he says staring back at her, neither one of them would back down from the staring contest. Kalpi felt weird, but warm, feeling raghav arms around her, while raghav felt nothing. Both of them were unaware of gauri watching them until she said something, making them both back away from one another.
Gauri walk towards them saying "shouldn't you be going to work, raghav", he turn to his mom and said good bye before leaving in his car. As soon as he left gauri turns toward kalpi with displease "what are you still doing here, don't you have somewhere to be" she says, kalpi quickly grab her umbrella before wishing her a good bye, than she quickly left leaving gauri alone. While she was leaving gauri continues to watch her "I will be keeping a closer watch on you, kalpi, I won't let you hurt my son" she says
