This epilogue was something I so wanted to write...hope you'll like...
THE EPILOGUE
Kalpi was standing near the French window smiling looking at the vast Arabian sea above which rose the Sun...the sun of her happiness...her success...her peace...her hopes... THEIR LOVE...
"Good Morning Sweetheart." Raghav said hugging her from back.
"Good Morning Raghav." Kalpi said plastering a wide smile on her face but was still looking outside the window while she felt something cold around her neck...She touched and found it to be the diamond necklace Raghav had promised her to buy the other day...Kalpi has never been a girl who loves jewelleries but this particular one had instigated the feelings every normal woman has upon seeing the jewellery shop...
That particular neckpiece looked so endearing when she saw it in the showroom one day... she so damn wanted to buy it but then...she was in great hurry...Raghav promised her to buy it...she had almost forgotten about it but Raghav remembered it. She was so happy.
"Happy third marriage anniversary and wish you a very very very happy birthday my princess." Raghav said bring Kalpi from the memory lane she was travelling in.
"Thank you so much Raghav." Kalpi waid happily hugging Raghav tightly.
"Ahhh" Kalpi felt a lil pain in her baby bump..."What happened Kalpi." Raghav panicked on the sudden moan...
"It's alright Raghav...baby just kicked...wishing it's parents and especially Mumma. Right baby?" Kalpi said with a wide smile that spread across her face when she received another kick signalling that she is right...both of them were laughing.
Raghav also joined Kalpi on the window..."Raghav you know how I met Pakhi...in the hospital...she came to have injections...you know how much she is scared of injections.Then the doctor called me...I somehow distracted her so that doctor may put the injection. We became friends then and there was no turning back...she has been a very dear friend of mine all these years." Kalpi said who was engrossed in her chain of thoughts.
"Kalpi...you remember how you were...you were such a man-hater...I saw you second time on your and Pakhi's Birthday party...you were looking so breath-taking..." Raghav said playing with Kalpi's fingers as she was looking outside remembering those days.
"And when did you saw me first?" Kalpi asked looking at Raghav.
"In the rain when you were lost dancing and playing in the rain with those kids. Your eyes were what I could only see...your eyes where so enchanting. But then Sammy called me and you were gone leaving behind your dear pendent. You don't know how much I cursed Sammy that day...you know...I wasn't able to do anything that day. I was so lost in your thoughts." Raghav said remembering that fateful day.
"Yeah I remember...I went to take my pendent back as one of the child told me that you took it...the watchman told me that I can't go inside...he thought me as one of those random fangirls... he even intercom you to ask if you really had my pendent or not and what what did you do...you blurted out that you don't...I was so pissed off on you." Kalpi said slightly smacking Raghav on his arms.
"I was sleeping...but when I realised my mistake you were gone...I checked in CCTV camera also but to no avail...your face wasn't visible..." Raghav said taking a deep sigh.
"And then my hatred for you was again instigated by this act of yours." Kalpi remembered how much she cursed Raghav that day.
"And then...your and Pakhi's birthday party." Raghav said with a wide smile on his face.
"All thanks to Pakhi...Pakhi has been one or the other way our link. Isn't she?" Kalpi said looking at the sun that was almost up in the sky but it was still soothing.
"You remember...how rudely you behaved with me and Sammy in that party?" Raghav said smiling.
"Yeah." Kalpi said lil embarrassed thinking of that day.
"And because of that, Sammy challenged me to befriend you." Raghav said will lil pain when his mind went in that part of the memory...that was not very bitter memory but then it had pained Kalpi.
"You were such a...I mean...just for a bet you companied me to the museum...you became my driver." Kalpi said remembering their walk to the museum...the day he came to pick her up for Pakhi's reunion party but eventually she ended in the rain...
"Yeah...and remember you told me that you you're a great fan of my Dad but you hate me...you thought that I got everything decorated in golden plate...you were true also to some extent...it was then I fell for you so badly..." Raghav said holding Kalpi's hand.
"And after that you were caught with pneumonia and were admitted in the hospital...and had to take care of you...with due course of time I realised that you are actually not that bad also." Kalpi said remembering when he came to meet the kids on her request.
"And after some days I was discharged. For the first time I felt bad upon leaving the hospital." Raghav said smiling.
"Yeah and you forgot to take your medical report which I came to give you but then got the biggest shock of my life. You were talking with Sammy about the bet you had." Kalpi said with a lil pain in her tone.
"I wish you had stopped for some more time to here our complete conversation." Raghav said looking outside the window staring at particularly nothing.
"I'm sorry." Kalpi muttered looking towards Raghav.
"It's fine sweetheart." Raghav said holding Kalpi's hand assuring her that he is not hurt anymore.
"And then again you met with an accident and I had to become your care taker. Huh." Kalpi let out a sigh over it.
"Yeah...you were such a strict care taker." Raghav said giving out an expression of disbelief.
"And remember you thought that Arjun and me were...you were so possessive. Even now you can't see me talking friendly with any of the male doctors. You have such an adorable expression when you're jealous." Kalpi said pulling out Raghav's cheeks.
"Yeah I am...and after spotting you and Arjun together I lost my control and shouted at you and you...you left the job...I was so scared...I thought that I lost you." Raghav said feeling the very pain he felt that day.
"And you rushed to Pakhi for help." Kalpi said.
"And you became angry on her as well." Raghav said blankly.
"Yeah..." Kalpi said lil embarrassed over how much she had hurt Pakhi.
"Pakhi was seriously very hurt." Raghav said.
"And I remember all the things you have done to get my forgiveness and love...you even followed me to Pune and took everyone on your side...that day when you fought for that girl...I fell for you seriously but then...Aai's wish came in between and I had to ask for 10 years. I'm really sorry for that." Kalpi said feeling sorry for all those years.
"It's ok sweetheart. Even I loved you even more for that." Raghav said to calm down Kalpi.
"I missed you so much all those years." Kalpi said hugging Raghav.
"I missed you too. You remember when I was in US Sammy showed me a photograph in which you were dressed almost like a bride and Prem was the groom...he told me that you're married...I was so broken but then we realised that it was done to bring us close." Raghav said while Kalpi was still in his arms.
"Yeah...and then our grand marriage." Kalpi said holding Raghav.
"Yeah...ok now enough of our talking...have your breakfast...it's not good for you and the baby to stay hungry for so long.
"Raghav...remember the day I told you about baby." Kalpi said sitting on the dining table.
*FLASHBACK*
It was Raghav's birthday..."Kalpi...where is my birthday present?" Raghav said in a demanding tone.
"I'll give you afterwards." Kalpi said blushing.
A big party was thrown...after all it was Raghav Singhania's birthday.
"Raghav...Sammy is going to become Uncle." Kalpi said in Raghav's ears.
But Raghav was stupid enough to not understand what Kalpi wanted to tell.
"I didn't understand Kalpi." Raghav said.
"You stupid..." Kalpi said irritated..."Raghav...you're going to become Dad...I'm pregnant." Kalpi said.
"What! Seriously! I'm so happy! This is the best gift of my life. Thank you so much sweetheart." Raghav said lifting Kalpi and spinning her around.
"Ok now I have to take leave from my work and I'll be your care taker." Raghav said excitedly.
*FLASHBACK ENDS*
And both burst out into laughter on remembering every odd thing Raghav had done to please Kalpi...
"Ahhh." Kalpi shouted. She felt acute pain.
Raghav panicked...he rushed to Kalpi's side.
"Raghav...ahhh...it's paining a lot." Kalpi said tightly holding Raghav's hand.
"Ok...we'll go to the hospital." Raghav said taking Kalpi in his hands and rushing to the hospital.
AT HOSPITAL...
"Doctor please check if everything is fine." Raghav said putting Kalpi on the stretcher. By then everyone including Vitthal , Pakya, Sammy and Pakhi have arrived.
"Ok." Said the doctor.
"Pakhi...she'll be fine na?" Raghav said still panicking.
"Yeah Raghav." Pakhi said to assure Raghav.
After sometime the doctor came out in hurry..."Doctor what happened? Both Kalpi and Baby are fine na?" Raghav asked who was in great tension.
"Mr. Singhania...we need to deliver the baby now...I know the date that was given is still two weeks after but there is some complications...we need to do the surgery. But in case if we have to chose one from mother and baby...whom you want?" Doctor asked.
"Save both mother and baby , Doctor." Vitthal said.
"But in case if we can only save one then?" Doctor asked.
"Save my wife Doctor." Raghav muttered staring on the floor.
"Ok..just fill the form." Saying so the Doctor went away.
After some hours of intense tension in between every one standing outside the operation threatre praying for Kalpi and the unborn one...the doctor came outside.
"Congratulations Mr. Singhania...you have become proud father of a beautiful baby boy"."Doctor said with a smile.
"How's Kalpi Doctor?" Raghav asked with lil fear.
"She is also fine...you need to take great care of her. You can meet her once we shift her in the ward." Saying so the Doctor went away.
Raghav fell on the ground...tears of happiness were flowing from his eyes. Vitthal and everyone else went to congratulate him.
After some time Kalpi was shifted in the ward all went to congratulate her and bless the baby...
Raghav was standing afar...when everyone went from there he sat near Kalpi and was playing with her fingers and didn't glanced at her.
"What happened Raghav." That was the nail in the coffin...Raghav got up and tightly embraced Kalpi not allowing even the air to pass...
"I Love You." Raghav muttered softly near her ears.
"I Love You Too Raghav." Kalpi said smiling and hugging him back.
There broke the hug when the saw the baby was staring at them as if he was awestruck to see his parents love.
"Kalpi..." Raghav said looking at the baby.
"Hmmm." Kalpi was also looking at the baby.
"You remember how much you hated Men and see were surrounded by men all through your life." Raghav said chuckling a bit over it.
"Yes...and I think that hatred is now removed my my heart and soul." Kalpi said still looking at the baby.
"Raghav...what will be the name of our baby?" Kalpi asked.
"Abeer...one who will spread colours and happiness in everyone's life even more." Raghav said taking the baby from the cradle and placing it in Kalpi's arms.
"Abeer...that's beautiful name." Kalpi said kissing Abeer on his forehead. Raghav stood near her...that was 'The Perfect Family' anyone would wish for.
