Chapter 20

"...Yes Kalpana, I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. I Love You More Than My Life. I know you love me too, I have seen love in your eyes for me but I just wanted to hear it from you." Raghav bent down on one knee and asked with all the love he has for her, "Kalpana, will you marry me? Will you be a part of my life? Will you become my wife not just for this birth but for all the births?"

All this time Kalpana was just staring at him. Her heart refused to believe what he had just told her. The man who she loved the most in her life was asking her to be a part of his life. She was fighting to control her tears. Seeing her with watery eyes, Raghav stood up and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, she closed her eyes as a tear escaped from her eyes as she didn't want to cry at this time. Without wasting any time Kalpi hugged him tightly. Though she didn't say those three golden words but her hug said it all. Raghav hugged her back. Soon she got solace in his arm, the arms she found as the world's safest place. They didn't know how long they were like this.

When they broke the hug, Raghav lifted her up and whirled her around slowly then brought her down and said lovingly, "Kalpana, I can't express how happy I am today. It seems like I am the happiest person in the world." "Whatever happened with me in my past was because HE wanted that," Raghav said pointing his finger to the sky. He added, "Because HE had you for me." He became so emotional and hugged her tightly again.

Raghav led Kalpana to a single table decorated with food, wine, scented candles, red roses. Seeing this Kalpi looked at Raghav and a smile appeared on her face making him smile happily. "Do you like it?" Raghav asked her with curiosity and waiting for her answer. "Yes it is really beautiful," Kalpana said looking around at the decorations.

After dinner they came home. They directly entered into Aarav's room and Raghav took Aarav in his arm ad said with joy, "Aarav, your mama will never leave you nor your papa." Then he kissed Aarav on his forehead and gave Aarav to Kalpi. The three of them took lots of pictures together with different poses. In some pictures Aarav was in Kalpi's arm and Raghav was hugging both of them from behind, in some pictures both of them were kissing Aarav.

At night both of them couldn't sleep as they were thinking about their confession to each other, dinner, and then the pictures they took with Aarav...No one knew when they drifted off to sleep.

The next morning Kalpi came into Raghav's room while he was still sleeping. She then moved the curtains at the corner so that sun rays could come inside the room. The suns reflection onto Raghav's eyes caused him to open his eyes and they fell on Kalpi. He was staring at her as her damp hair fell on one shoulder. He checked her out completely from head to toe. Though in formal, yet she was looking extremely pretty, the simplicity and innocence which she carries in her heart always enlightens her face with a glow. Seeing him staring at her Kalpana felt shy and said shyly, "O, actually, I came to wake you up as it is 8:30 already." She added, "I thought you are late for the office." "Please have your coffee," Kalpana said showing the cup she put on the side table. "You freshen up and I am going to set the table for your breakfast." All this time he was just staring at her. When Kalpana was about to leave Raghav held her hand and pulled her toward him which caused her to fall on his hard chest. Now Kalpana was lying on top of Raghav and Raghav was holding her by her waist. Pulling Kalpana hard caused Raghav's face to be covered with her wet hair which caused him to close his eyes. Raghav slowly opened his eyes and removed her hair from his face slowly and then looked into her eyes. He then touched her cheek with his finger and moved slowly. Being in the awkward position she tried to protest to free herself but his grip was too tight so that she couldn't move. "Please Raghav ji, leave me, koi aa jayaga." Kalpana said while protesting. "Umm... hhh..." Raghav denied. Kalpana was pleading to leave her. "Ok, but only under one condition." Raghav said with demand. "You have to promise me that har subah uthney ke bat aur rat me soney sey paheley tum apna is soney ka chehra mujhey dekhao gi." Hearing him Kalpana smiled and nodded her head and ran from there. Raghav put both hands behind his head and smiled biting his lower lip after she left.

Singhania constructions

Raghav called his lawyer and told him to talk to Ria's lawyer that if they demand anything else then he is ready to grant it but make sure to divorce as soon as possible. Hearing Raghav's conversation over the phone, Sammy said, "So confession ho gaya, happy now?" "Yah, bohot." Raghav said, "Bas, once I get divorced, I will marry Kalpana as soon as possible." "I just can't wait to see her as my dulhan Sammy." "I don't know why Ria is taking so long as I already made myself clear that I don't want her in my life." Raghav said with frustration.

One afternoon Kalpana didn't have college so she thought of taking Aarav to the nearest park as both mom and son could spend some time over there. Kalpana was playing with Aarav. After some time she heard a voice saying, "Hi Kalpana." Hearing her name being called Kalpana looked back and saw Ria. Seeing her, Kalpana said, "Hi Ria ji." "How are you?" "I am fine Kalpana." Ria said with a smile, "Glad to see you after a long time." She added, "Actually I was passing through here, when I saw you then came here." Then Ria's eyes fell on Aarav who was sitting on the stroller. "Oh, so, is this the child that Raghav adopted?" saying so Ria took Aarav in her arms and kissed on his forehead. Hearing the word adopt' Kalpana felt bad. Seeing Aarav, Ria got emotional and said, "I wish I wouldn't abort my child, I wish I would be a perfect wife," "Then I would be with Raghav now. I know whatever I did with Raghav it's not even forgivable. When I realized, it was too late Kalpana." Saying so a tear felt from her eyes. Wiping her tear Ria said, "By the way Aarav looks like Raghav and no one can tell that Aarav was adopted." "Kalpana, I have to leave now as I am getting late." She said bye and started walking toward the car. Kalpana was searching for the ball they were playing with. Finally seeing the ball four five feet away she walked toward the ball. In the meantime a little boy was running around and by mistake he pushed the stroller and caused it to move toward the busy road. Seeing the stroller moving toward the road Kalpana screamed by Aarav's name and started running. Ria was about to get into the car but stopped hearing Kalpana's scream. "Oh my God." Saying so Ria ran to save Aarav from falling on the road and finally saved him. She got some scratches on her leg while saving Aarav.

Kalpana insisted Ria to come home as Ria was bleeding on her leg. Kalpana put some ointment on the affected area and bandaged her leg. Before Ria left Kalpana thanked Ria for saving Aarav again.

Kalpana thought, Ria ji has changed a lot. The pain I have seen in her eyes, that is clearly visible that she is regretting for whatever she did with Raghav ji. Then she remembered Ria's word adopt' and said with pain, "I can't keep Aarav's real identity as a secret." "I will tell Raghav ji that Aarav is Raghav ji's own son." She added with watery eyes, "I am ready for all kind of consequences." "If he hates me, let him hate me."

At night when Raghav came home Kalpana told everything that happened with Aarav and how Ria saved him. Hearing her Raghav thanked God and said, "If Ria wouldn't save him I don't know what would happen with Aarav." Seeing him tensed, Kalpi didn't want to bring up the topic of Aarav's real identity. She then decided to talk to him later sometime with any good time.

The same night Aarav had high fever and Kalpana was trying very hard to bring the temperature down. She then woke Raghav up. Seeing Kalpana very tensed, Raghav asked worried, "Kalpana is everything all right?" "Raghav ji, please call doctor. Aarav has high fever."

Doctor checked Aarav and found him with high temperature and gave him medicine and said, "Hope, he will be fine and try to bring the temperature down." Hearing doctor, Kalpana said with tensed, "Doctor would you recommend taking Aarav to the hospital so that he would be under your observation." Seeing Kalpana tensed doctor said, "Don't worry, he will be fine, you don't need to take him to the hospital." "No doctor, you don't understand, if his temperature goes up again and we are unable to bring it down then he might have a seizure attack again as he had once when he was four months old and he is in risk until six years." Kalpana said in one go. "Doctor please I don't want to take any risk." Raghav couldn't understand what Kalpana had just told doctor about Aarav. He thought, how come Kalpana knew what happened with Aarav when he was four months old as I can remember Kalpana saw Aarav first time in my house when he was six plus. Then he just let go of it thinking maybe she might just be tensed and just said it as he saw Kalpana to read books about baby's health sometimes and knew about seizure. Aarav was taken to the hospital and after two days he got discharged.

Nowadays Raghav became very busy as he couldn't get time to spend time with Kalpana and Aarav. Raghav couldn't even get a chance to eat his lunch. In all these days Kalpana would try to get him to eat his breakfast. Seeing him rushed she would feed him sometimes. Raghav missed spending time with his family. He felt bad that he couldn't be with them. He also knew that Kalpana would understand.

On the other hand, Kalpana also missed being with Raghav. Kalpana knew that the next day was Raghav's birthday and she planned something special for him.

The next morning Kalpana told Raghav to come home early. Kalpana decorated the backyard for his birthday. She put lighting on the trees, she hung streamers, and she lighted candles on every corner, and did many more.

Kalpana got ready as she wore a black saree with purple border and matching accessories. She put light makeup and was waiting for Raghav.

Raghav rushed with his work to go home as Kalpana asked him.

On the way home he was stuck at a crowded where there was an accident. He got out of his car and went toward the accident area to find out when the area will be cleared. Raghav looked over the crowed and saw two damaged cars one in front of the other. He saw a lady in the car in the front with her head resting on the steering wheel. Then he saw someone opening that car door and bringing the unconscious lady out. He recognized the lady to be Ria. Seeing Ria in that condition Raghav widened his eyes and moved toward the car. Seeing Raghav a man asked, "Do you know her?" Raghav nodded and said, "Yes, let me handle this."

Raghav took Ria to the hospital. The doctors did her treatment. Raghav was there until she regained conscious.

On the other hand Kalpana was waiting for Raghav. Is he still busy? Has he remembered that I told him to come early? She thought.

After some time Ria regained conscious. Seeing Raghav beside her she was surprised and asked, "Raghav you?" "Are you feeling okay?" Raghav said, "Actually I was passing through where you had an accident and I brought you here." "Thank you Raghav for bringing me here." In the meantime the doctor came and checked Ria and found her okay to go home. Raghav decided to drop Ria home as she was very weak. In the car it was totally silent as Raghav was focused on the road and Ria kept on glimpsing at Raghav.

They both reached Ria's house. Raghav helped Ria in. He helped her into the couch and was about to leave but stopped when Ria held his hand. "Thanks again Raghav," Ria said, "Raghav, I know you still have some feelings for me otherwise you wouldn't have helped me." "I know that whatever I did was unforgivable and hurt you a lot but you still saved me." Raghav turned around and said, "Look, if there was even an unknown person out there I would have still saved them. And anyway, I heard that you have saved my son and if anything would have happened to him I don't know how I could live, so I returned the favor." He then left from there. For all this time Ria's dad was watching from behind.

Raghav entered into the house and was searching for Kalpana. After looking all around the house he decided to look in the backyard and his eyes widened In Awe seeing the decorated backyard with lights, candles, streamers, and a table decorated with his favorite wine, candles, and a chocolate cake. Seeing the cake he remembered what he forgot. Raghav turned hearing Kalpana saying, "Happy birthday Raghav ji," "You did this Kalpana?" Raghav said amazed. "How did you know it was my birthday today?" Kalpana said smiling, "Baas ayseyie," "Sorry to make you wait Kalpana. Come on, let's cut the cake." He led Kalpi to the table. He blew the candles out while Kalpi sang "happy birthday" to him. He cut the cake and Kalpi took a piece of cake and fed it to Raghav. Raghav did the same to Kalpi. After tasting the cake Raghav said, "Mmm... Yummy..." "You liked it?" Kalpana said, "I made it for you." "Really? You did?" Raghav said surprised, "Thank you so much Kalpana."

After eating cake, Raghav put out his hand and said, "I can't resist asking this beautiful lady out for a dance." Kalpana extended her hand and put it on his and he put it on his shoulder and put his around her waist. They interlocked there free hands and started dancing to slow music. While dancing Raghav asked Kalpi, "Kalpana, do you know how to dance?" "No" Kalpana said. Raghav said, "Then why did you agree?" Kalpana said with a smile, "Because I knew, you wouldn't let me fall." They danced for a while.

After dance something came out in Raghav's mind and smirked. He then asked Kalpana with demand, "Where is my gift Kalpana?" "Hai na." Kalpana said showing a wrapped box. "I made a beautiful sweater for you." "No." Raghav said and added, "I want something special and unique for a gift from my special lady." Saying so he bit his lower lip and started walking toward Kalpana slowly. He came near her. His eyes never leaving hers. Feeling his closeness she looked at him and said nervously, "What are you doing Raghav ji?" And she took a step back while he took a step forward. He held her by her waist and brought her toward him. She clutched his shirt. They came so close that they could feel each other's breath. He leaned a bit and said, "This was the gift I wanted." And captured her lips. Unknowingly her hands went to his neck slowly and pulled him closer to her and started responding with equal passion. Through this kiss they poured their love onto each other.

After a while both of them were lying on the grass, watching stars interlocking their hands. Raghav said, "This was the best birthday I had ever had Kalpana." He added, "Having you with me it seems like I am the happiest person in the world." And he rested his head on Kalpana's stomach and put her hand on his chest and drifted on to sleep.

After two weeks Raghav invited people for the Holi. Both Raghav and Kalpana arranged everything outside of the mansion. People were enjoying and having fun smearing color on everyone's face. Kalpana was avoiding people so she wouldn't get colored as she wanted the first color on her by Raghav. Kalpana went to Raghav's study room and saw him on the phone. Raghav was wearing a white kurta and pajama. Kalpana tip-toed to him so that he could not understand her presence as his back was facing her. She went near him and smeared color on his cheek. Feeling someone's hand on his cheek he looked back and saw Kalpana with a beautiful white dress. Raghav then cut the call saying, "will call you later." Kalpana ran from there and Raghav chased her. Raghav found her after many attempts as Kalpana was hidden behind the curtain but her feet were visible. He now tip-toed to the curtains and yanked them away revealing Kalpana. He was about to hold her shoulder but she ran. Somehow he managed to hold her but accidentally held her back causing the zipper to open that made Kalpana stop. "Sorry Kalpana," He was about to zip up her dress but stopped as his eyes fell on those marks that were due to the villagers throwing the rocks at her. His finger traced the marks and said, "What is this mark for Kalpana?"(...to be continued)
