Chapter 9
Hearing his phone buzz, Ayaan grins as he answers it, saying, "about time..." Only to rudly interrupted, by the person on the other line, snapping, "what are you playing at?... No don't bother answering... Break it off." Annoyed he replies, "make me!" And hangs up.

Sitting at the coffee shop, anxiously waiting for Ayaan, Kalpi wonders at the joke life has played on her... one minute she was happy, in love, looking forward to university life, looking forward to the future... and several days later she is here, sipping coffee, sad, waiting for her unwanted fiance to show up so that they could begin their wedding shopping, dreading her future. "I am getting married in two weeks," she mutters to herself. she looks up towards the sky and whispers pleadingly, "God, a miracle please... pretty please," she ends with a pout.
Ayaan grins at the sight of Kalpi bargaining with God, he says, "Yo Kalps, don't waste your breath. He is on my side here." Sitting next to her, he takes a sip of her coffee, he adds cheekily, "God and I have a direct connection."
Heart racing for being caught, she squeaks, "what do you mean?" Leaning back and smiling, Ayaan says, "From the looks of it, I assume you were asking God to postpone our marriage." Seeing her worried expression, he leans forward, holds her hand as he continues smoothly, "Don't worry. I understand. Who wants to marry a guy she just met. I know you need time to get to know me. To learn to trust me. I am so sorry for rushing you." he ends, his voice filled with compassion, making her feel comfortable.
Impatient to get the day going, Ayaan makes a call, "Ragav, where the hell are you mate?" Clenching his jaw and his fist, Ragav hangs up and says, "Right in front of you." His gaze trained at Kalpi... filled with accusation.
Hearing his voice, Kalpi glances up, she grabs her hand from Ayaan's hold. Ayaan stares at her for a split second, tries to stop himself from grinning and grabs hold of her hand, saying carelessly, "Don't worry, Ragav is no prude. He won't judge you." Turns to Ragav smirking, he adds, "He has lots of girlfriends. Ragav do you remember. Did we name them days of the week or months of the year." Kalpi who was moments ago feeling like a heel, turns and stares at Ragav in shock, her eyes clearly saying, "omg. You have been playing me."
Ragav sits down with a sigh and says calmly, "sorry mate, if memory serves me right. It was you... and it was days of the week. Chuckling, Ayaan lets go of Kalpi's hand and says, "Yea. You are right. Those were the days." Kalpi sits there, staring in disbelief, thinking, "Birds of a feather flock together... was Ragav a player too." Ayaan excuses himself to take a call. Wasting no time, Kalpi turns to Ragav, her gaze fired up with accusations. Ragav quickly shakes his head and says, "No. I am not a player." Feeling calmer, Kalpi puts on a nonchalant look and says, "I didn't say anything." Smiling Ragav says, "No you didn't, but your eyes did."
Ayaan walks up, looking remorseful and says, "Ragav, Kalpi, I have to leave. Slight emergency. Sorry for wasting your time. Look I got to run. Ragav?" "Don't worry I shall drop her home. You go ahead," Ragav says. Relieved, Ayaan replies, "Thanks mate. Bye Kalpi." Walking away, he stops and turns, says, "Rags we have the same taste. Why don't you guys go ahead with the wedding shopping?" Sensing Kalpi is about to refuse, Ayaans says, "Kalpi we don't have days. Let's make the most of the time we have. Ok bye. I gotta run." Leaving Ragav and Kalpi staring after him in disbelief.
Once inside his car, Ayaan makes a call, "Are you okay? What happened?... No I did not tell Ragav... Yea I am on my way."
