"Will you just kept staring your food or you'll say something??", Kalpana asked Paakhi. From last twenty minutes the two were sitting in the restaurant and after ordering the food none of them said anything and tired of the suspense Kalpana finally said," Why exactly did you want to meet me so urgently??".
Paakhi looked up at Kalpana and said," Umm.. How was your first day??". Kalpana creased her forehead in confusion," You were worried about my first day??". "Worried?", Paakhi said. "Yes, in the morning when you called", Kalpana explained. "Oh that.. Umm.. Actually..", and Paakhi went on to tell Kalpana about Raghav and her conversation. "And what exactly made you think that I'll be facing any problem. Come on Paakhi how long have you known me, your Raghav bhaiyya was just worried about keeping hid new assistant a secret, that's it and besides now on that won't be necessary, I'm going to talk to Samar then no one will have any issues".
Paakhi nodded before she said," But di, if ever there's any problem you'll tell me, Ok??", Kalpana smiled at Paakhi and said," Yes, I will. Lets quickly finish our lunch I've to go". "Me too", Paakhi replied a hint of sadness in her voice. Keeping the spoon aside, Kalpi placed her hand on Paakhi's.
In all of the day's happenings she almost forgot it was Raksha bandhan and just like last two years this year too Paakhi has to spend it alone. "He won't like his sister sad because of him", Kalpana said with a smile, the smile which she had now mastered as a masquerade to hide the sorrow that laid deep within.
Finishing their lunch they left. While watching her best friend walk away Paakhi thought," God knows how you do it, saying those reassuring words to me when you're in no different condition".
Quickly walking through the sliding entrance Kalpana went in the washroom to wash her face and along with it the vulnerable side of her which she hid from the world.

"Ok so I'll sent these to Dad to get them signed", Raghav replied in affirmative and Sammy got up to leave. While he walked through the passage he was surprised to see the person walking towards him," Kalpana ??".
Kalpana saw Sammy coming out while she stood near the reception asking Avantika about the meeting. She immediately walked to him.
"What are you doing here?", Sammy asked in a surprised tone and Kalpana calmly replied," I work here now", looking at her cabin door she said," Can I talk to you for a minute, if you're not busy of course". Sammy said yes and the two went in Kalpana's cabin.
As they walked back Sammy first thought they were going to Raghav's office but passing by that cabin they entered the one besides it with the name

'"You work for Raghav bhai? Ohh.. You are the new assistant!!", Sammy said and looking back at him Kalpana just nodded. She asked Sammy to have a seat and then told the reason for which they were there talking.
"I just wanted to ask you to not interfere in Raghav sir's work", Kalpana said straightforward," Look you're brother said that he can't say no to you and if you know that I work here then you won't let me work as hard as his previous assistants did. I don't want any special treatment just because I'm Paakhi's friend. If he wants to give me a lot of work I'll do it happily but if because of you I'll get a different behavior then I'll have to search for a new job. Paakhi told me that you're aware of my financial situation right now so I just want to request you to let Raghav sir be, fine?", with this Kalpana finished talking.
Letting her words process in his head after a brief pause Sammy agreed. Kalpana thanked him and after that Sammy left to continue with his work while Kalpana continued with hers.

The remaining day wasn't much eventful. After their conversation Sammy informed Raghav that he'll not be meddling in his office business as a result of which Raghav now had no reason to worry.
It was 8 pm now, the time he left office. He went to the basement car parking. Keeping his laptop bag on the backseat he walked to the front seat. He took a reverse turn and drove towards the exit. Just when he approached it he saw Kalpana sitting near her car tyre perhaps trying to change it. He looked around, there weren't any other cars and so after pulling the hand brake he got down to help her.
"Come on..", Kalpana said to herself while trying to remove the bolt applying all her strength but alas she was unsuccessful. "What are you doing here?", the voice startled her making her jump a bit before she stood to look at the person behind her. " Oh, you", exhaling the breath she held out of fright she said," You scared me". "What are you doing here at this time?", Raghav asked again. "Flat tyre", she replied pointing at it.
"So you should've called for a cab", he said to which she replied," My phone switched off because of low battery and the auto and taxis have strike".
Understanding that there was no other option Raghav said," Come I'll drop you at your place".. "No need", Kalpana said almost immediately. "So what you're gonna stay down here trying to change that tyre?", he asked," No I'll go to the bus stop", she answered.
"It also is far. I'll drop you there, come sit", this time he ordered and Kalpana had no option than to agree. Picking up her stuff she went to sit in his car. After she put on her seatbelt Raghav drove away to their destination.
With her sitting beside him Raghav's mind kept nagging him to ask that one question that kept him disturbed all day long. He tried his best but eventually gave up and asked Kalpana," Why did you talk to my brother?". Kalpana who was looking out of the window till now looked at him and hummed in confusion," Mhmm??".
The roads were empty so Raghav just looked at her straight and elaborated," You knew it was my problem and that I even if I wanted to can't fire you then why did you help me, that too after arguing to the point where I lost". Looking straight Kalpana replied," Because you were fair with me".
She paused and continued," You could've rejected me in the interview itself and with the authority you have no one would've questioned you but you still gave me chance and only after you had no option left you asked me to leave, that too in a straightforward way instead of attempting any incorrect method. So if you could be nice to me then why couldn't I".
"Thanks", Raghav said with a straight face. "Thanks bhi aise bolte hai jaise meherbaani kar rahe ho (He thanks as if he's doing a favor by saying so)", Kalpana thought. Dropping her at the bus stop Raghav drove away with all his misunderstanding about her cleared and also Sammy problem solved.
