Kalpi was seriously troubled by her feelings for Vihaan. She was getting more and more attached to him each day. He seemed to be everything that she wanted in her guy and her attraction to him was growing. But it was only her sensible brain which stopped her from doing something stupid. Her brain kept on warning her that he was totally out of her league and anything with him would only lead to more heartbreak for her. She steeled her heart and thought to herself that once she left abroad for her studies, she would be able to forget him. But the thought of leaving him caused a pang in her heart, which she hastily suppressed. Her heart still sang at the thought of seeing him again during the Puja.

Vihaan was also surprised about how much Kalpana affected him and how much he continued to think about her. He had not attended the Puja celebrations in Jaipur since becoming a movie star. He loved his extended family, but he knew that his presence would actually take away the spotlight from the Puja to him. But this time he could not stop himself from going there, as he wanted to see Kalpana and bring back Kalpana and Naani back to Mumbai. He was always used to being away from Naani, as his Naani spent lots of time away from Mumbai, but this time he hated being alone in the huge house. He missed having Kalpana and Naani around and he was dying to bring them back with him.

Due to his hectic shooting schedule, he had chartered a plane to take him to Jaipur late in the night. Kalpana was awake waiting for him and had left her balcony doors open, so that she would hear his car. When she heard his car, she ran to the balcony, to catch a glimpse of him, but could not see him. She wanted to go down to receive him, but suddenly she felt embarrassed and worried about what Vihaan would think of her waiting for him. She made a decision not to go down.

Vihaan himself was looking at her balcony when he neared the Haveli, but did not see her, then laughed at himself for expecting her to be waiting for him.

The Pujas were spread over 2 days, one day the Puja happened with close family and friends and the next day Puja was one which was open to all.

Kalpi did not sleep at all the whole night, as she was nervous about her dance performance. She had performed dances on stage many times, but performing in front of Vihaan had butterflies dancing in her stomach.

She was down dressed in a beautiful pink coloured Sari, with her freshly washed hair hanging open over her back, ready for the early morning Puja. Most of the female family members were there for the early Puja, but most of the males were still sleeping. She looked around for Vihaan, but did not see him. She realized he must have still been sleeping after his late night arrival.

She went and took the blessings of Naani.

Naani said, "You look lovely, dear. I can't wait to see you dance today."

Kalpi said, "Naani, I am nervous, I hope I don't let you down."

Naani patted her cheeks and said, "No I am sure you will make me proud."

After the morning Puja, Kalpi went into her room to dress for her dance performance. Kalpi was not very fond of make-up, and the only time she wore a lot of make-up was during her dance performances and even then she felt uncomfortable.

She wore a deep red Ghagra Choli. She had worn big kundan ear-rings, a Maang-tika and a kundan necklace. She lined her eyes with Kajal, but did not realize how big and beautiful they looked with their beautiful shape and long lashes. Deep maroon coloured lipstick enhanced her lips and a slight pink coloured blush adorned her cheekbones making her already gorgeous face glow. Her long hair was tied into a plait which hung low on her back. Though she did not realize it, she looked lovelier than ever.

Vihaan was standing with his cousin Neel and his friends. Neel who was studying in London School of Business had come down for this Puja with 4 of his English friends, Mike, Harry, Will and Gaurav. They had just landed yesterday night and were going to be attending the Puja and leaving for an India tour from there.

There were a lot of girls standing next to them giggling and basically ogling at Vihaan, trying to build up courage to approach him. Vihaan who was looking handsome in his dark blue coloured silk kurta was totally oblivious to them. His eyes were searching for Kalpana the whole time, even when he was conversing with his cousin and his friends.

Mike said, "Hey Neel, the girls here are absolutely gorgeous. I have never seen so many beauties together in one place," and the other guys agreed.

"All you guys, you have to behave yourself, most of them are my relatives or family friends", Neel laughingly told them.

Suddenly Vihaan lost the whole trail of the conversation as he saw Kalpi descending the steps in all her finery. He was stunned by her beauty. His profession had always led him to be surrounded by gorgeous woman, but this one girl literally left him gasping for breath. He beauty coupled with her innocence raised her looks to another dimension. He kept staring at her while she walked down the steps with her eyes cast down, like a shy bride.

"Don't break my heart by telling me that this gorgeous creature is also your relative. She is lovely beyond belief", Mike said staring at Kalpi. Suddenly all eyes turned towards Kalpi to see who Mike was talking about.

Neel said, "No she is not my relative, I don't know who she is, but she sure is lovely."

Suddenly Vihaan realized that Neel and his friends were talking about Kalpi and staring at her lustfully. He felt his temper rising to a point of no control.

"She is out of bounds too. She is my secretary and I don't want any of you messing around with her", Vihaan said angrily.

"She is your secretary, not your girlfriend. Hey it is the 21^st century and I am sure secretaries are not personal slaves and are allowed to have personal lives", Mike said teasingly.

Vihaan felt his whole face turn red in anger and everyone suddenly was engrossed in their war of words to realize that Kalpi had come and joined them, when they heard a soft, "Hello Vihaan, how are you?" from her rose-bud mouth.

All eyes turned to her and Kalpi suddenly felt shy and foolish. Vihaan looked furious. She realized that she should not have come to meet Vihaan, when he was with the guys.

Vihaan said, "I am fine, Kalpi". Though he had been looking forward to meeting her for a week now, he hated the fact that she was here and every guy was looking at her. He could see the guys giving her perfectly shaped body a once over. Mike was staring at her breasts and her waist, which was peeping from under her dupatta. All he wanted to do at the moment was send her back to her room covered in a dark veil.

"Hi, I am Mike", Mike said extending his hands to Kalpana and Kalpana was forced to take it and introduce herself. "Hello Mike, I am Kalpana".

Soon each one of them introduced themselves to Kalpana and every time someone would take her hands in their hands Vihaan would feel a hot wave of anger shoot through him.

"Kalpana, are you for real or are you an angel who just descended from the heavens and will be going back soon, because you are really beautiful", Mike said teasingly.

Kalpi's famous blush made an appearance at that inopportune moment, making her look more adorable and innocent.

Mike said, "A girl who blushes at a compliment. I thought they were an extinct species."

Vihaan could not take it anymore and told Kalpi, "Naani was looking for you. I think she is waiting for you in her room"

Kalpi took their leave and walked away and suddenly Vihaan saw that one of her Payals had fallen down.

Vihaan picked it up and called out to her. Kalpi stopped at looked back to see Vihaan holding her Payal in his hand.

She walked back toward him and took it from his hand and then unconsciously bent down to tie it on her ankles.

Without realizing that her dupatta had moved and her whole back which was covered only with thin doris stood exposed to prying eyes, she struggled with her Payal.

Vihaan angrily told her, "Don't you have any brains? Everyone here is staring at you. Stand straight, I will put on you Payal for you."

Kalpana suddenly felt shy and said, "No, it is okay, I will go into my room and wear it".

"Shut up and stand straight now", Vihaan commanded and Kalpi obeyed.

Vihaan lifted up her skirt slightly and soon as he touched her ankle, Kalpi felt a shiver run through her and she clutched at Vihaan's shoulder.

Vihaan felt a hot surge of lust shoot through him and felt his hands grow clumsy, but somehow he managed to fix the clasp.

As soon as it was fixed, Kalpi ran away from there not able to face Vihaan.

Vihaan was seriously displeased with the way the day was progressing. He had not been able to spend a single minute alone with Kalpana and she seemed to be the cynosure of all male eyes in the room. The last straw was his being surrounded by a bevy of flirtatious girls all vying for his attention.

There were a lot of acts being performed on the stage, which did not hold his attention at all. He kept looking out for Kalpana and could not find her.

Suddenly there was an announcement and he found Kalpana on stage. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. But once she began dancing he found himself mesmerized.

She was dancing on "Maaiyaa Yashoda yeh tera kanhaiyaa".

She danced beautifully. Each moment of hers was graceful and sensous. She moved as if she was one with the music. He had seen many beautiful dancers, but never one so uninhibited and natural. Her beautiful limbs swayed to the music with gay abandon, leaving Vihaan captivated. Her steps were sinuous and enthralling and every sway of her shapely hips made Vihaan grow weak on his knees. The cherry on the top was the beautiful expressions being depicted on her lovely face by her gorgeous dark eyes.

When her dance came to an end there was a silence in the hall and suddenly it was filled with deafening roar of claps and shouts of "Encore".

She shyly acknowledged the applause and left the stage and Vihaan suddenly realized that he continued to stare at the stage even when she was not there.

He wanted to tell her how much he had loved her dance, but he found her to be surrounded by a whole bunch of people and suddenly she disappeared from there.

Kalpi had gone upstairs to change. She looked into the mirror and saw her flushed face and smiled. She loved dancing and it always made her smile. She wondered if Vihaan had liked her dance, somewhere in her heart she had danced for him. Then she laughed at her stupidity. Vihaan was a movie star and had danced with most superb professionally trained dancers. She was an amateur and was certainly not the most impressive of dancers.

She removed all the jewellery and wore simple studs in her ears and opened her plait and brushed her hair loose. She wore an electric blue silk saree which actually enhanced her dusky skin. She washed off the heavy make-up and made up her face subtly. She felt more like herself and she turned to remove the tinkling Payal from her ankles, but suddenly she stopped and blushed as she remembered Vihaan's touch on her bare ankles. She decided to leave her Payal on.

The next time Vihaan saw her, he was stuck once again with her simple beauty which required absolutely no adornments. He wanted to talk to her alone, but someone or other would always corner him and keep him away.

His eyes continued to follow her and Kalpi continued to throw shy glances towards where he was standing. He was always surrounded by a bevy of gorgeous girls. She felt something akin to jealousy flutter in her heart. "She had no right to feel jealous. Vihaan did not belong to her", she thought, but such feelings could not be suppressed easily.

Kalpi suddenly felt teary and wanted to be alone. She went towards a small terrace on the other end of the Haveli. It was a secluded spot and she felt assured of her solitude.

Vihaan suddenly saw Kalpi moving towards the terrace and Vihaan hastily disengaged himself from his throng of admirers and followed her.

Kalpi looked out from the terrace not seeing anything. Her eyes were blurred with tears and she hated herself for feeling this way. Vihaan was a superstar and not her boyfriend and she had no rights on him. She wiped her eyes and steeled herself.

Vihaan walked into the terrace and locked the door behind him. He walked towards her silently and Kalpi who was lost in her own world did not hear him at all. He came close to her and slowly whispered into her ears, "Hi, Kalpana. Are you waiting for someone?"

Kalpi suddenly got flustered, turned and banged hard into Vihaan's chest and Vihaan's hands immediately went to her bare waist, while her hands clutched his shoulders. Their eyes met each other and both went into trance. They stared at each other, each one giving silent messages to the other, but unspeaking. Both their hearts were beating fast. Kalpi was the first one to come back to her senses and she disentangled herself from his arms and turned her back to Vihaan shyly. Vihaan went towards her and turned her to towards him.

"You are an absolutely fabulous dancer. I really loved seeing you dance, Kalpana", Vihaan said looking at her with admiration.

Kalpana heart leapt with happiness and she shyly said, "Thank you, Vihaan."

"You should dance professionally. Never have I ever been so captivated by a classical dance before" Vihaan continued.

"Vihaan, you are flattering me. I love to dance, but don't really want to do it professionally", Kalpi replied.

"You should dance just for me. I really don't like everyone looking at you when you dance", he thought to himself.

He suddenly got worried whether he had spoken those words loudly and decided to change the topic.

"I hope you are ready. We leave day after tomorrow", Vihaan said.

"I can't wait to go back to Mumbai with you. I am ready," she said happily and hearing that Vihaan felt his spirits lift too.

He wanted to tell her how much he had missed her, and before he could speak out those words, both their phones rang in unison.

Both picked up the phones and received the same message. They were being called down for the Maha-Aarti.

Unwillingly both walked towards the door, Vihaan walked in front and Kalpi followed sedately behind.

After this conversation, both were not able to spend a single moment alone together and both went to bed unhappy.

Kalpi woke up early next morning, but did not want to lie awake in bed as thoughts of Vihaan would continue to ravage her mind.

She had a shower and wearing a pale peach Lucknowi suit went down to feed the birds in the terraced lawn. Her hair was still damp from the shower and she had not bothered to dry it. Her face was devoid of any make-up except a light application of Kohl in her eyes.

She went down and started feeding the birds and suddenly she felt happy again and her feet were dancing as she pranced around the lawns with the birds flocking around her.

Unknown to her Vihaan, whose room's balcony was just above the terraced lawn was watching her frockling on the grass with a smile on his face. She is so lovely and innocent he thought, no wonder she attracts me so much. He wondered whether he should pursue her, because he still felt deeply unsure of his feelings. He did not want to be the cause of any kind of hurt to her and he did not want to lose her friendship.

Suddenly he saw his cousin Neel approaching Kalpana.

"Hello, Kalpana, you are an early bird, all dewy fresh in the morning", Neel said.

"I love mornings, they are the best time of the day and I love coming here and feeding birds in the mornings. I am going to miss this once I go to Mumbai," she said.

"Before I forget, I have to tell you that I loved your dance. It was absolutely breathtaking. You should be a movie star rather than a movie star's secretary" Neel said.

"Thanks, but not in my wildest dreams do I want to be a movie star and I am very happy being Vihaan's secretary", Kalpi said realizing that the only praise that really mattered to her was the one from Vihaan.

Vihaan looking at them together felt suddenly uncomfortable and decided to do down.

In a short time, Mike had joined Neel and Kalpana on the lawn. Kalpi did not really like Mike and his stares made her really uncomfortable and she decided to leave from there.

Before she could make her excuses and leave, Mike suddenly cornered her and said, "Hey Kalpana, I need to show you something"

Saying this he opened Youtube on his Ipad and showed Kalpi the video of her dance which he had uploaded.

Kalpana was not really comfortable with publicity of any kind immediately said, "Please remove the video, I am really not comfortable with this."

"Why sweetheart, you dance beautifully and look absolutely gorgeous. Hey, look at the comments on the video, everyone is very impressed", Mike said.

"Please delete it, I don't want everyone to see it. Please", she continued pleading.

Mike who was really enjoying her flustered behavior just continued, "You know we are looking to tour India and showcase it to our friends. My first video is of a beautiful Indian girl dancing. Is there a better way to promote India?"

Suddenly Vihaan landed there and Mike who had not liked the way Vihaan had spoken to him yesterday about Kalpana then decided to rile Vihaan.

"Hey look at this gorgeous girl's video. Isn't it absolutely stunning?" he asked Vihaan thrusting the Ipad towards him.

Vihaan who was already livid, glanced at the screen found his temper rising. The video had been shot totally focusing on her body rather than her expressions. The whole video just made everything seem more sensuous by focusing on her bare waist, back and her breasts. Comments like "Hot stuff", "what a body", "gorgeous", "are all Indian girls so sexy" and some comments bordering on obscene made him angrier than ever.

Vihaan angrily went closer to Mike looked angrily into his face and commanded, "Delete the video, immediately. How dare you upload it without her permission?"

Mike felt threatened by Vihaan's demeanor, but did not want to give up so easily and he said, "Why should I? The performance was public and there were so many people watching it, so why is it so private now?"

Vihaan angrily said, "I said delete it, Mike".

Both Neel and Kalpi felt that things were getting out of hand. Neel went and restrained Mike while Kalpi clutched at Vihaan's sleeve and said, "Vihaan let it go. I don't want to create a scene. It is just a video. It does not matter"

Vihaan who had worked himself into in a fine temper turned on Kalpi and said, "Maybe you like being center of attention and you want everyone to see this"

Kalpi who was already upset with the video, suddenly felt her huge eyes fill with tears and she ran away from there and Vihaan who realized what a fool he had been followed her urgently.

He caught her in the corridor and said, "I am sorry, Kalpana. I did not mean to hurt you. I was so angry at Mike and I took my anger out on you. I could break his jaw."

In that split second he made another decision and told Kalpana, "We will be leaving here today itself. I will make arrangements for us to leave" He did not want Kalpana to spend a single moment in the company of this moron.
