Asha Negi speaks about #EMA n Replacement

Asha Negi is back! Well after the break she took post her winning the Nach Baliye trophy with real life baliye handsome actor Rithvik Dhanjani, the pretty actress who charmed her fans heart through her portrayal of Purvi on Zee TV longest running show Pavitra Rishta is back yet again with the same channel.Asha will be essaying the character of Kalpana in Ek Mutthi Aasman which madeRachana Parulkar a household name. In this exclusive interview withTheTellyTimes the charming and talented actress opens about her excitement of being back with the same channel, the challenges of portraying Kalpi and much more. So finally you are back onscreen after the much needed break you took post your Nach Baliye win, so how's the feeling now coming back onscreen with the same channel with which you were associated during Pavitra Rishta?

Zee has become a family to me now, it will always be an honour for me to work with Zee TV. I am completely excited to be back with the channel.

In some of the recent interviews you mentioned that you are just waiting for the right scripts and that you would prefer not to do typical saas bahu sagas, so what is it about EMA that made you say yes to this show?

I have waited for the right script as nothing could excite me so far, probably that is the reason that I didn't take up anything till now but when I heard the future script of EMA as Zee wants to revamp the show, I got quite excited as this one was very different from my character of Purvi also the add on was offcourse Zee TV itself.

You are replacing Rachana, who was immensely loved as Kalpi, so do you think this will be a challenge for you to step into the shoe of an already established actor?

Well while finalizing the show, I very well knew that it will definitely be a huge challenge Since I will be replacing an already established actress who is immensely loved by the audience so I was quite prepared for it.

Did you get a chance to have a word with Rachana Parulkar whom you are replacing on the show?

No, not yet but I would love to tell her that she is immensely loved by her fans who can do anything for her.

Lots of EMA fans are not happy with these recent developments so any thing you want to say to them?

I completely understand what they are feeling right now but this was completely on the channel and production house's hands, I just accepted the offer and if not me then there would have been some other actress doing this role.

What is Asha Negi bringing to the character of Kalpi?

This will be definitely different from whatever I have done in the past, it will be young and refreshing and I will try my best not to disappoint anyone

Any message you want to give to your fans who are happy to see you back?

Firstly I want to thank them for always being there in my happiness as well as in difficult times, also guiding me through their mails, messages and letters. I just want them to know that I can do anything for their happiness. I know many of you were upset that I am doing a replacement but you have to trust me here, I promise I will never let you down.

We completely understand the anger and disappointment of the dedicated fans of the show, but as Asha said if not her, there would have been some other actress. I really hope Zee executes the script as promised to Asha. Zee has a reputation of ruining good storyline and I hope this isn't repeated in EMA.

Asha knew what she was doing when she signed up for EMA and we are always there to support her.

I hope fans who are angry with this development understand that the replacement idea was channel/PH's call and if not Ashu, some one else would have taken up the role.
