Why Shirina Singh doesn't speak to her co-actors

Shirina Singh, who plays Pakhi in Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, will soon turn into a violent, obsessive lover a la Shah Rukh Khan from Anjaam and Urmila Matondkar from Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.
Her unrequited love for Raghav will prompt her to harm herself and Kalpana (Rachana Parulekar). "I was not told about it, but I decided to do it as the track is very interesting. It's a drastic change from the sweet, innocent girl that I play," she says.

How did she prepare for the part? "Since it was sudden, I didn't get the chance to prepare. I just watched Urmila in Pyaar Tune... and SRK in Anjaam, to understand the nuances of the character. It's an overpowering character and that takes a toll on you. I have become quiet and restrict myself to a corner a few hours before the shoot. People have started getting irritated as I don't talk to anybody, but the point is, I don't want to be distracted. I don't even take any calls while shooting," she replies.
Will we see her slashing her wrist or breaking things on the show? "I have started throwing and breaking things. Only time will tell what more they would make me do."
