Folks, my longest post on IF. This was on some other thread, wanted to share it here.

I wonder, as a leading GEC in India, doesnt the channel feel any sense of moral, social, ethical responsibility or obligation in the messages they directly or indirectly convey to viewers? Soaps influence viewers more than movies since we watch it at home daily. They become a bigger part of our lives unlike movies especially with all the time and emotional investment as a result of watching episodes repeatedly then discussing in detail on social media IMHO. We should know 😆

I have been very vocal on twitter about how every relationship rituals, religion, symbolism, sanctity of marriage and even fans sentiments have been mocked not just in EMA. This seems to be Zee mantra for every show. Shameful.

Understood this is a business and profits are what matters but does that mean they can show us anything in the name of entertainment or creative liberty? Logic and originality was never a strength of desi CVs since cable was born in India and especially after the K czarina's successful soap industry creations. But now we also have to deal with arrogance from the people associated with the show, who treat the very people due to whom they earn a living with complete disrespect and indifference. Add to that is when complete tracks are changed for the vested interests of a handful of people. I have seen this with other shows too BTW. The recent party video of the crew indicated too many things to be dismissed as mere rumor or speculation. All this along with current track has left the viewers extremely disappointed and frustrated. The powers that be are willfully adding to the anxiety instead of alleviating our apprehensions. What a pathetic state of affairs.

From the beginning when I started watching EMA, I had issues with Raghav's verbal abuse of Kalpi even though it was justified as his way from keeping her away from him. Arrey, if you have trouble keeping it in your pants why take it out on the girl? Anyway, that is the easy way out for our lazy desi creatives to show hot male resisting the female lead in several shows. Number of us looked beyond that and numerous bloopers for Ragna. Majority of us on this forum started watching EMA post Raghav's entry or post Alibaugh. Ragna was the reason people tuned in to watch EMA. The TRP increase months after its launch despite lack of promotion clearly indicates what brought in viewers.

CVs capitalized on fans sentiments and Ragna popularity for TRPs and then gave us Rakhi. They remember clearly the uproar after the Pakhi kissing Raghav dream sequence. I believe they were aware that fans would still bear Ragna separation or their marriage a later date but would not accept Pakhi marrying Raghav. Yet we got Rakhi shoved down our throats. Its a soap so drama toh banta hai but in this manner??? Unscrupulous and cold blooded. Now they are looking for reasons to keep Rakhi married. If Raghav could have a registered marriage in a few hours bypassing the processes involved, he can get an annulment ASAP too. And an educated woman stays married to Raghav knowing Ragna love each other. How is any of this fair on Pakhi?

They rushed through the Ragna romance to focus on this misery? The Bollywood actress tells us to appreciate the positivity in the show. SAY WHAT? For this rakhi marriage, tracks were rushed, poorly executed, the story and all characters severely compromised beyond redemption. The so called social base and theme sidelined for drama as Kalpi is repeatedly shown to suffer, struggle and loose everything that rightfully belongs to her to the 'naive lil Ms. Richie Rich' be it intentional or not. Where is positivity or hope in that? Why are we watching the show?

Positivity does not equal foolishness, Good does not equal stupidity. There is a difference between being hopeful and delusional. Pakhi and Kamla are the two worst supposed 'positive and innocent' characters written in any show ever. Increasingly viewers are not able to relate or empathize with them. Grey or flawed characters are always more interesting and realistic, viewers would have accepted if that is how Kamla or Pakhi were portrayed. Instead of acknowledging and rectifying the flaws, we are told to use the remote and change channels if we are unhappy. Arrey we are giving feedback because we love the darn show.

I think Raghav falling in love with her, his realization, his confession was too rushed. I would have loved to see him take his time to confess even if accidental, long for her while she proved her mettle and earned her promotion, respect in the office. Office scenes and romance itself are uncommon and would have been a treat to watch.
We got some amazing Ragna moments post his confession but especially since the park incident there were SO many missed opportunities for great story telling and high points for drama as you have mentioned in your post. But they messed up so they could show saas illtreating bahu as part of some brain dead revenge. 🤢

Edit - wanted to add, I have never felt so let down by a story and fictional characters.😳

Looks like raghav wont go as he's busy with gauri then like a fool kalpi goes to make sure that idiot doesnt do anything to himself.I guess he shows up late or is a no show.

Sammy is joining him in that group of wussies ...emotionally blackmailing kalpi telling her if anything happens to raghav you will be responsible?

Raghav its now ur turn to threaten gauri that u will do something to yourself.This serial has the worst set of mothers!!

Gauri is a vengeful power drunk lady that really needs to be a looney tune house.

Raghav will honour his mother's wishes but both of them ar stupid if they think kalpi will wait.Kalpana waited for u raghav...she freaking did!!

They want her to wait one year??Are they serious?she must put herself on a hold to wait for a man who didnt gave a rats ass about her and her family's feelings.

Its not about kalpi's love anymore.Her going to meet raghav is the biggest proof of that.Its about trusting raghav. Trust is lost and without trust in a relationship then love has no foundation.

How can kalpi wait on raghav when his promises and priorities changes just like how he changes his suits?

I dont even know what to rant about..
I am hating absolutely everything that is being shown save Kalpi
and prety soo. I will dislike her decision to wait for Raghav ( if she does)

the show personifies everything I consider as wrong and glorifies it
all to make Kamla and Pakhi the leads
I detest them

Guys there was a segment where Rag and Kalpi have a confrontation at the temply, with the bells ringing like mad!! It was aired yesterday, I cannot find the video anywhere

Nandy, indeed a long post!! And I have nothing to say😆 Other than they find pleasure in our frustrations and many of us gullible enough to go and rant to them despite their rude behavior!! We can say the show will suffer loses but unless people who are watching on TV backs us up, we will continue being fed #crapfest because it tells them we support your regressive state of mind!!

Yesh, RagNa were rushed and it was not needed, but when they gave you fame, brought attention to your show on a world-wide stage, then they deserve recognition for it, not abuses and insults!!

Anyways, its evident what they are doing! Making the audience hate Gauri, so Kamla can stand out and her sins can be overlooked!! But sorry leaving your child to drown cannot be overlooked and neither can you ditching her every step the way. BAS
