Chapter 10

It's almost as if the world had stopped for a second. Here was Raghav, this guy Kalpana knew she felt a connection with and yet she was afraid. Afraid that one day he would leave and abandon her, just like the other one had. Why should she trust him? How could she trust some guy she had met barely three weeks ago?

"What exactly do you mean you've fallen in love with me?"- Kalpana asked her heart racing a million beats an hour.

"Well, honestly I don't really know what being in love feels like."- Raghav responded. "But if thinking about someone every day, wanting to spend time with them every day and just seeing that person smile can make me so happy, then yes, I've fallen in love with you!"

"Main kya karu Kalpi? Since the time I first saw you, you're all I think about. I keep replaying the time spent with you, over and over again in my head. Especially the day we spent at Marine Drive and Chowpatty. Main hi jaanta hoon ki maine khud ko tumhare saamne aane se kaise roka hai."- Raghav replied, stepping in closer towards Kalpana.

Kalpi felt the breath leave her. The faint smell of Raghav's cologne was enough to make her intoxicated. There was something about him. She knew it, he knew it. The only problem was, didn't Raghav have a girlfriend?

"What about Pakhi?"- Kalpana asked apprehensively, afraid of the answer she'd receive. As much as she liked Raghav, she knew nothing would happen if he was still with Pakhi. It just didn't feel right. At that moment nothing did. But then again when did love ever make any sense? Pyaar toh bas ho jaata hai.

"Pakhi? I broke up with her last week."- Raghav replied quietly. "Even when I was with her, you were all I could think of. I felt like I wasn't being fair with her or me so I ended our relationship."

Kalpana was honestly surprised at his reply. This was not what she had expected to hear. Not only was Raghav Singhania standing in front of her confessing his feelings, he had also broken up with his girlfriend, all for a simple girl like her.

"Raghav, I know it must have been really hard for you to break up with Pakhi but I need time."- Kalpana said softly. "This is too sudden for me and maybe we should take things slow? I can't deny that there is something there but we were just becoming friends. Yeh pyaar kahaan se aa gaya beech mein? Please don't rush me into anything."

Raghav looked her dejectedly. "I'm only confessing my feelings because I leave for a tournament tomorrow and I just had to tell you that I love you. I'll be back in 2 weeks, so please till then think about what I said. I meant it Kalpi."

Kalpana and Raghav stood there in complete silence for what seemed like eternity before Raghav turned around and left the apartment without uttering a single word as Kalpana watched him helplessly.

*2 weeks later*

Raghav stood outside Kalpana's apartment with a bouquet of roses. It had been two weeks since he had last seen and spoken to her. Every day he had controlled the urge to call and text her. He was getting desperate to know what she had to say. Whether she even had anything to say to him at all.

But he was back now. And all he could think about was spending the day with her. Talking to her. Watch her laugh. How much he had missed her laughter.

Raghav excitedly rang the doorbell unable to wait any longer. He could hear footsteps coming to open the door.

"You're back already?"- an unfamiliar face responded opening the door for Raghav. Raghav looked with utter confusion as the stranger who had opened the door was definitely not his Kalpi but some random guy.

"I'm sorry but who are you?"
