Chap 28:
Raghav wakes up remembering last night's events. He finds himself in children's room. He quickly gets up and comes to his room and finds Kalpana is getting ready in front of mirror. He wants to apologise to her for last night. Kalpana turns and looks at Raghav. Raghav tries to say something but Kalpana says that she had prepared everything for their plan and asked him not to go office today. Raghav again tries to apologise to her but she tries to move out of room. Raghva grabs her arm and asks her to listen him.
Raghav : If you are thinking that I am apologising to you because I think I did a mistake last night, you are wrong. I am apologising to you because you are not able to trust me even after two months of our marriage and somehow I am responsible for it. I am sorry that you are not yourself in front of me. I am missing strong feminist Kalpi who would have beaten her husband if he touched her without her permission. I am missing my Kalpi who would have been throwing things on me after she got to know that I was not too drunk last night and I remembered how she kissed me on my forehead when she thought that I was asleep.
Kalpana does not know what to say or how to react. His every word is so passionate. He is reminding her own old self who she forgets herself and what he said that he was awake when she kissed on his forehead. For a moment Kalpana gets shy but the very next moment, she speaks - You are mistaken. I have not kissed u. I was just helping you to lie down properly and maybe my lips touch your forehead. I was trying to help you thinking you were unconscious. For your information, you are quite heavy. You should start dieting.'
Saying so, Kalpana tries to free her arm from Raghav's hand but Raghav tightens his grip on her hand and dangerously comes closer to her and kisses on her forehead. Kalpana feels shy for a moment. She finds Raghav's gesture very sweet but the very next moment, she starts hating herself for liking his touch. She gathers all her strength and pushes Raghav and speaks - Stay away from me'.
She is about to go out of room when she hears Raghav's voice - This is my Kalpi. Thanks for giving me my kalpi back. And for your information, I am not fat.'
A smile appears on Kalpana's lips hearing Raghav's words. Kalpana comes to kitchen and realises what she had just done. She had kissed him, she told him fat, she got kissed by him, she pushed him and now she is laughing on his antiques. What is happening to her? She is being herself with him. In last two months, she just tried to fulfil her responsibility as a wife but she was never carefree like this with him but what is happening to her. She is behaving like a teenager or a newly wedded. She does not know but she is smiling and more surprisingly, reason of her smile is Raghav. Same Raghav who snatched her happiness few years back is becoming reason of her happiness.
Pakhi enters into kitchen and sees Kalpana smiling. Pakhi gets happy seeing Kalpana smiling and Kalpana notices Pakhi. She gives a sly smile to Pakhi and tells her that she packed the lunchbox of children and asks her is she prepared for their today's plan? Pakhi nods in yes but asks - will our plan work? Kalpana replies - I don't know. But we should try at least. May be our drama will open Prem's eyes and he will realise that he is wronging himself and jiya as well'. Pakhi - Thanks Kalpi for doing all these for my brother. Thank you.' Kalpana - No sorry and no thanks in friendship and I have my own selfish reasons for doing this. How can I let prem enjoy happy bachelor life? He has to live eventful married life and has to bear Jiya's every antics. Kalpana and Pakhi bursts into laughter. Indeed now they share a good bond with each other. Last two months mended their relationship as well.
Time is a great medicine. It heals every wound. But it could not mend broken relationships. Understanding and interaction are needed to mend relationships. And same happens with Kalpana and Pakhi. They have come closer to each other in last two months and start understanding each other. Now they are good friends but Kalpana is still cold towards Sammy.
Kalpana speaks : Pakhi, have you understood my plan. You handle prem and I will handle Jiya. Kanta tai has also agreed to my plan. I have also involved Dada in my plan. So that Prem and Jiya do not doubt. Now only one thing is left. I will do it. Please drop children to School. I will pick them from school in evening.'
Pakhi answers :' I have understood my part and I will pull it off. Don't worry about children. I am going to drop them. And all the best for your part.
Pakhi leaves from there and after breakfast, she leaves to drop children at home.
In raghav and Kalpana's room.
Raghav : is this really necessary. Do I really have to wear these?
Kalpana : I am saying you last time . Wear it otherwise I am going to call samrat and involve him in my plan. I told you that you will not able to do it. But you are adamant.
Samrat's name does wonder and Raghav wears the wig and fake moustache. Raghav looks himself in the mirror and screams. Kalpana smiles.
Raghav : why are u smiling. I am looking like a joker. And look at my clothes. These are not ironed properly and look at the colour combination. It is disgusting. And wig and moustache have grey hair and what you have done with my face. I am looking like 50 year old man.
Kalpana : Why are u cribbing? You are already 41. Your real hair also start greying and you had agreed to play part of 50 year old man and for your kind information, you are not playing Mr. Raghav Singhania that you can wear your business suit. Middle class people wear this type of clothes only.
Raghav : Ok, I understand but what about this . Saying so, Raghav points to his big fake stomach.
Kalpana : Oh, it is just punishment for drinking in front of kids. Now let's go and I will be around you. So don't be afraid.
Raghav : I am not afraid.
Kalpana: yups. I can see that. You are sweating.
Raghav : Actually AC is not working.
Kalpana looks at the AC (which is on and obviously working): yeah you are right.
Raghav looks at on AC and in serious tone: Now, we should go.
Prem and Pakhi enter into one of restaurant of Pride hotel.
Pakhi : Bhaiya, Italian food of this restaurant is quite good and I promised Pakya that one day I will visit his hotel. Look at the decors, quite classy.
Prem : yeah. It is quite good. But you had promised Pakya, I did not. Why did you drag me here?
Pakhi : Bhai, you love Italian food. So, I thought to give you treat.
Prem : Ok..I understand. Now let's sit somewhere.
Pakhi and Prem sit and order their food. Suddenly Prem feels that he heard a known voice and he looks here and there. He sees Jiya is sitting with her mother and an old man in next table. Prem looks at Jiya's face and he can see that she is upset. He tries to hear the conversation between Jiya , Kanta tai and that old man. And his blood starts boiling hearing some extracts of their conversation. Kanta tai is planning Jiya's wedding with this old man. How can she do it? Jiya is quite young girl. Her life will be spoiled and he can't let this happen to his Jiya. He stands and moves toward Jiya's table. Pakhi calls him but he ignores. Pakhi smirks at her elder brother's condition.
Prem confronts Kanta tai- Aunty, how can you do this. How can jiya marry this old man?
Before Kanta Tai can answer, the man answers : this girl is lucky that I have agreed to marry her. Who will marry a divorcee and that too with a child?
Kalpana who is disguised as a waiter wants to throw coffee on Raghav as a person who knows him little would have guessed that this old man is Raghav. Thank god, People became blind and deaf in love. Otherwise his voice and his hand gestures are screaming his identification. Thank god, Prem is too angry and Jiya is too sad to notice anything.
Prem' anger reaches at its peak. How can anyone insult his JIya. He retorts: I am not asking you. I am talking with aunty.
Raghav speaks: Who the hell are you? How are you related to them that you can ask this? This girl is lucky that he is getting a person like me as her husband. I am owner of Singhan...er Singh General store.
Now Kalpana wants to strangle him for spoiling his plan. Prem and Jiya must have understood.
Prem : Just get lost from here. Jiya never marry you. Just leave before I beat you.
Raghav is about to leave when Kanta Tai speaks: Don't do this Prem baba. Who will marry my jiya. How will she leave her life alone? Don't spoil her life. Singhji is good. He is marrying my jiya for his 23 year old son and 21 year old daughter.
Kalpana just wants to give Oscar for Kanta tai's brilliant performance. How elegantly she handled the situation. 23 year old son and 21 year old daughter.
Prem has gone mad in rage. This old man's son is only two year younger than his Jiya. No he can't let this happen. He speaks - Tell her to go aunty. I love Jiya and I will marry her'
Kalpana gets happy and sees Raghav (after removing his fake wig and moustache) congratulating dumbfounded Prem and Jiya. Prem realised everything and is about to leave when Jiya speaks - Premji, I am not involved in this plan. But I am feeling really happy that you love me too. But you don't have to marry me if you don't want. I can live my life alone because I will not marry anyone else other than you.' Saying so,Jiya is about to leave when Prem stops her and hugs her tightly.
At another corner, Kalpana speaks to raghav - What happens to Mr. Perfect actor raghav. Thank god, Prem and Jiya are little distracted. Otherwise, you would have been caught when you opened your mouth for the first time. I really wonder how you pulled your loving act on me few years back. You were just perfect actor'. Kalpana says all this laughingly.
Raghav is hurt. He is hurt beyond limits. She still thinks that it was all acts. He looks into her eyes and speaks - I was never a good actor. Hope you would have understood it.'Saying so, He leaves leaving behind a perplexed Kalpana and an equally surprised Pakya who have witnessed their conversation.
Kalpana did not want to hurt him with her words. She did not want to taunt him. But she said those words as she believes this from last 10 years. Raghav's love for her was always acting. First it was to avenge Trisha and now it is his penance and for Chahat. His acting has started again affecting her. She does not want to fall in trap again. She does not need any sympathy and pity that she was wronged. If these concern and care for her would have born out of his love, not for his penance. But she knows it is just his penance. Kalpana is standing still there and Raghav have left the place before.
Prem , Jiya and Pakhi are laughing on a comment of Prem, perfect family moment. Kalpana leaves from there. Pakya notices her sister. He can read her face very well and He has witnessed variety of emotions running on her face. Raghav's word again starts affecting her. But his words are so real and convincing. He himself could not help but feel bad for Raghav. No, he will not believe Raghav. He had believed him once and her sister have paid the price. How can he forget that he had seen Raghav and Kalpana in park and he had confronted Raghav but Raghav made him believe that there was nothing between them? He believed him and never asked Kalpana about it and her sister suffered. He never gathers courage to accept this truth in front of his sister. Still his words are fake. His words can't be genuine.
Raghav is sitting on the bench of park, same park where he took Kalpana for 1st date, where he met Hiya. He is upset. He is hurt. She does not trust him yet. She can't see love for her in his eyes. He started hoping that their relation will get a meaning seeing Kalpana's reaction at morning but she is just being friendly with him. He told her to be herself and she is doing that. There is no love in her gestures. Her love for him is dead or he himself crushed it. They are just being perfect husband and wife.
That night,Dinner at singhania mansion and yadav home was a silent affair.
Kalpana is sleeping peacefully with Hiya and Neel. Raghav is awake in his room and Pakya is pacing restlessly in his room much to Amrita's annoyance. Amrita gets irritated and asks Pakya reason of his worry. Pakya does not want to give stress to Amrita but he badly needs someone to share his guilt and worry and he confesses past and also tells her about Raghav's today's behaviour. He does not forget to mention that he felt bad for Raghav. But amrita does not seem surprised and speaks - When words are genuine, they do effect us.' Pakya looks at Amrita Surprisingly. Amrita speaks again - Raghav always loved Kalpana . Trisha was just his friend. It is just that sometimes we mistake friendship as love and love as friendship. Samrat and Riya had met Trisha's very good friend in USA and she told them that Trisha had realised Raghav's love for Kalpana before Raghav realised it himself.' Pakya looks questioningly at Amrita - why did not anyone of you tell this to me or Kalpana?' . Amrita - Because I forbid them. I don't want Kalpana to accept Raghav just because he loved her. I want her to accept Raghav if she still feels for her. Pakya - but how will she accept raghav if she does not know the truth. Raghav had hurt him badly'.
Amrita speaks - sometimes the person who had hurt us, only has the power to heal us. Raghav and Kalpana have to sort out their misunderstanding and differences themselves. Time has turned the table. 10 years back it was Kalpana who had realised her love but Raghav did not. Now, Raghav had realised his love, Kalpana did not. The day she will realise it and get to know the truth, their love will be stronger.
