Chap-17
It's morning.
Kalpana wakes up. She is getting married today. Marriage, a sacred bond which unites two people will ruin her life. Her dreams of happy life will be shattered with this marriage. She is going to marry a person who thinks she is responsible for his sister's death and her only fault is that she is the last person whom his Sister met before her accident. She have to live with Raghav whom she once loved, under same roof. why does she blame Sammy and Raghav when her own mother thinks that she is responsible for Trisha's death. She is hurt beyond limits. She had accepted the punishment for a crime which she never did to punish her mother. May be oneday her mother will realise her worth.
A lady comes into her room and informs her that she will help her to get ready for the marriage.
Kalpana just nods her head and the lady starts helping her to get ready.
In Trisha's room.
Sammy is standing in front of Trisha's Photo. he is talking with her photo.
Sammy : I am going to avenge u today. I will make Kalpana's life living hell. But why am I not happy. I lost u because of her. But why my heart is saying that I am doing wrong. Please help me Trisha. I want your soul to rest in peace.
suddenly he notices open door of Trisha's cup board. He opens it and stares the belongings of Trisha. Her Favorite orange dress, Her watch , her cute teddy and her Diary. He takes Trisha's diary and remembers how Trisha used to write her all secrets in the diary. while he is keeping the diary at its place, it falls from his hand and a letter comes out from it. He is shocked to see that it is addressed to him(To my dearest Bro) and the handwriting is of Trisha's.
He lifts the letter and starts reading it.
My dearest Bro,
You are world's best brother. I never missed our parents becoz u are always there for me. I want to thank u for all the things you have done for me. I love u bro.
I know I will not be there when u will read this. I am suffering from brain tumor. I had discovered this after u and raghav left for India. I don't have much time to live. I have cross checked with 3 or 4 specialists. But They all told me that My tumour is in advances stage and I can't survive. I don't have courage to say thistruth to u and Raghav . I can't see u both broken. I don't want u both to suffer with me everyday.
I have discovered one more truth after coming to India. I met Kalpana aka Raghav's Kalpi. we both heard this name numerous times from Raghav's mouth and I was always jealous of her. But Today I am not jealous of her Though I know Raghav loves her.
you will say how can this be true? Raghav loves u and he does not like Kalpana. She is no match for raghav etc etc.
But truth is I am Raghav's best friend, not his love. and his hatred toward Kalpana is his mask to keep her away from him. But he himself does not know it and Kalpana, she is only girl who can give reality checks to raghav. I tried to talk with her about Raghav but she started bashing him. I tried to defend Raghav but Raghav's doings were enough to shut me up and she proved to me that Raghav is a jerk and heartless person.I couldn't stop smiling thinking that The girl who resides in Raghav's heart is calling him heartless.
You must be wondering that how can I be happy after knowing Raghav's love for Kalpana. I can say that It is beauty of death which made me realise what I want from my life. I want to see you and raghav always happy. I have found raghav's happiness i.e. Kalpana. I don't know I would be able to convince her or not. but if I fails, u have to unite them.
You must be thinking that I just cares about Raghav. No bro, I have found out ur deepest secret also. Just go and tell Pakhi that You love her and tell raghav not to involve pakhi in his stupid revenge plan.
surprised again ? I always supported Raghav in his revenge and today I am saying his revenge stupid. Life is so short to waste in hatred. I realised this truth at the door of death.
Love u bro. I know I will come back in your life again but this time as your daughter.

Sammy is speechless after reading his sister's letter. He had misinterpreted Trisha's last words. He kisses his sister's last letter . tears are streaming down from his eyes.
In Raghav's room.
Raghav is restless. He just came in his room after meeting Kalpana. Kalpana is looking beautifull in her bridal attire . He had lost her best friend becoz of Kalpana but why the very thought that after today, he will lose every right on Kalpana is making him restless. And the madness and determination in her eyes is making him crazy. He remembers Trisha's words - ' Just listen to ur heart when u get confused and close your eyes, You will get the answers of ur question'.
Raghav puts his hand on chest and Closes his eyes. He sees the reflection of his heart. Yes He is in love with Kalpana. He wants to spend each moment of his life with her.
In Kamla bai's home.
Vittal has returned home and kamala has informed him everything. He is furious to know that Kamla slapped Kalpana.
Vittal : Kamla you proved me wrong. I thought you will realise the worth of our Kalpi. But you have snatched everything from her.
Kamla : She accepted her mistake,
Vittal(in disgust) : Wah kamla! You don't know our daughter. She can't be at fault.I know my Kalpana. She is my pride.
Saying so Vittal calls Pakya.
Vittal : Lets go pakya. I will not allow anyone to snatch my daughter's happiness.
Pakya : Yes Baba. I will kill them if they hurt my Kalpu.
Kamla : Vittal, I am also coming. I will plead to Raghav baba not to hurt her. I can't see her hurt. I love her as you do.
In Rahul's Home.
Rahul and samrat are pacing restlessly. Pakya had just informed them everything.Purba and Raina are also restless.
Purba : we should go there and stop them. they can't spoil kalpana's life.
Rahul : lets go. We will show them that they have messed with wrong people.
In Raghav's house:
Kalpana comes to the hall. She is looking gorgeous in Red bridal attire. She walks towards mandap lifelessly and sits there. She does not notice that no one is there.
Raghav comes and sees her sitting on the mandap.while he is stepping towards her, the door bell rings. Servant opens the door and he sees Kalpana's family and friends standing at the door. Before Raghav can say something,
Sammy comes there and asks them to come inside.
Sammy folds his hands in front of them and asks forgiveness for his behavior. He tells them everything. Kamla is feeling ashamed for not believing her daughter.
And Raghav, he is shattered and broken. He had given immense pain to Kalpana because of his stupid misunderstanding. He had played with her feelings, her emotions. He had hurt the people who are close to her. He is on the verge of destroying her life. He have to ask forgiveness from her.
Everyone starts bashing Sammy and raghav but the one person who is most affected by their torture is sitting on the mandap lifelessly. She is in such a trance that she is unaware of everything that is going on.
Vittal notices his daughter and runs toward her.he is hurt seeing her daughter like this. He knows how much his princes is hurt. he jerks Kalpana but she does not respond. He yells at her but she does not show a single sign of life.
Everyone is staring at father-daughter duo. Sammy and Raghav lower their head in shame. They do not have courage to see this devastated Kalpana. Kamla is praying for her daughter. Kalpana's friends and her Dada are hurt to see happy go lucky Kalpana like this. Pakya moves toward to Kalpana but samrat holds his hand.
Samrat : Dada, None but uncle can handle her in this situation.
Pakya : I can't see my Kalpu in pain.
Samrat : I know dada but let uncle handle her. He understands her well.
Vittal can't control himself any more and tears start flowing from his eyes.his tear drops on Kalpana's hand. The warmth and love of his father's tear awaken her from the trance. she lifts her eyes and sees the man who loves her most in the world, her baba and hugs him tightly.Tears are flowing from her eyes. Vittal Reassures her.
Vittal : Don't cry Kalpi. Ur baba is here. I don't allow anyone to hurt my daughter.
Kalpana (still crying) : Baba.
Vittal : Don't say anything.
Kalpana ( sobbing): My own aai does not trust me, Baba. How will I expect the persons who are not related to me believe me.
Kalpana's words pierced Raghav. Indeed he is none to Kalpana.
Vittal( affectionately) : But I believe you and you are my pride. Now lets go home.
Kalpana : I don't want to go home where my aai does not trust me.
Kamla is hurt to hear this. She realizes how much pain she had given to her daughter.She loves her daughter but she ends up hurting her always. she does not have courage to defend herself.
Vittal : But what about me. How will I live without my princess?
Kalpana hugs her baba tightly again.
Kalpana leaves Raghav's home with her family and friends.
Raghav is distraught. Kalpana's words that he is none to her are piercing his heart. Kalpana did not look back to him. She did not give him a chance to explain. Sammy is also hurt. becoz of their misundersatnding, they had hurt an innocent girl. He is also feeling bad seeing Raghav distraught.
In frustration,Raghav starts drinking.Sammy tries to refrain him but Raghav is not in mood to listen.
In Kalpana's home:
Vittal tells Kalpana's friends to leave her alone for sometime and they leaves from there. Vittal also tells Kamla, aaji and Pakya not to disturb her princess as she needs sometime to recover.
Next Day Morning :
In Raghav's house :
Sammy comes to check Raghav and finds him unconscious in the bar. Sammy sprinkles water on Raghav's face and Raghav wakes up and Starts drinking again.
Sammy in anger : What are u doing with urself?
Raghav : I have lost everything, my bestfriend , my love, kamla ma everyone.
Sammy : Will drinking help you to get everyone back.
Raghav : No..but it will ease my pain.
Saying so, Raghav starts drinking again.
Sammy self thinks : It is waste of time to make him understand anything. I should talk to Kamla Ma and Kalpana. Their forgiveness may help Raghav to come out of it.
In Kalpana's home.
Kalpana wakes up and wishes her father Good Morning and assures him that she is alright.
Kalpana : Baba when u are with me, how can I be upset. I am alright baba.
Vittal hugs her daughter affectionately.
Pakya (in mock anger) : you people always forget me.
Kalpana : Dada, how can I forget u?
and hugs him.
Kalpana : From today, I will join you and samrat in your job.
Pakya (in surprise) : u are forgetting Kalpu, Me and samrat are jobless.We are searching for job.
Kalpana smiles : Searching job is toughest job,dada.
Vittal : Kalpi, take ur time . Please don't rush to any decision.
Kalpana reassures her baba: Baba, I can't change my past but I will not spoil my future for it. I am your strong girl.
Vittal : Ok, first have ur breakfast.
After Sometime
Knock on the door and Pakya opens the door to find Sammy standing there.
Pakya gets angry seeing him and asks him to get out but aaji interrupts him.
Aaji : You are forgetting Pakya that Raghav baba is owner of this chawl and Sammy is his partner.
The harsh reality that their house is not their own hits Pakya badly. He has no right to throw the person who hurt his sister badly, out of house. He just steps back.
Kalpana is sitting on the sofa and marking newspaper for jobs.
Sammy walks toward her and asks sorry for everything he and Raghav did to her.
Kalpana does not respond.
Sammy : Please Kalpana, forgive me and Raghav. Raghav is broken and distraught. He is drinking from night.
Kalpana calls out for her dada: Dada, ask kanta tai the name and no. of doctor whose medicine helped suraj uncle to get rid of his drinking problem and give it to Mr. raizada.
then she turns to Sammy: I can't help u more.
There is no glint of worry or hate in her eyes. she is so indifferent for the person whom she once loved madly,
and she indulges herself in paper once more.
Sammy turns to Kamla Ma.
Sammy (in worried voice) : I can understand Kalpana. She can't forgive us. But Raghav always considers you as his mother and only you can make him understand. raghav always told me that you have a big heart. Please come with me to help Raghav. I had lost my sister but I don't want to lose my friend.
Hearing Raghav's plight, Kamla can't control herself. She has always cared for Raghav. But she is afraid of
Vittal and Kalpana. she looks at Vittal and Kalpana.
Vittal is looking furiously at her but Kalpana tells : Baba, I don't want to be accused once again if anything happens to Mr. Singhania. If aai wants to go, let her go.
Kalpana's words hurt Sammy badly and he looks at her expressionless face.
Kalpana stands up and gives Sammy a packet :' Mr. raizada, These things are yours and Mr. Singhania's.
Sammy looks into the packet and sees the bridal attire, jewellery and to his disbelief, he sees an abacus and a pen.
Kamla leaves with Sammy to console Raghav.

I have dedicated this chapter to two wonderful relationship on earth. One is father - daughter and other is brother-sister.words can't describe the depth of vittal's sorrow when he sees her princess sitting lifelessly. I can't find exact words to express sammy's feelings after he read his sister's last letter, Pakya's feelings realizing he is living in a house which belongs to someone who had hurt her sister.
I want to share a story which I read somewhere.
A girl on her 11th birthday asks her father : What will u give me on my 15th birthday.her father tells her that her 15th birthday is far away.At the age of 14, the girl becomes seriously ill.
In hospital ,
She asks her father : I can't see my 15th birthday. what would have u given me on my 15th birthday if I would be alive?
Her father : You will definitely see ur 15th birthday.
The girl : I can't survive.
Her father : you will survive and I know it.
On her 15th birthday, the girl gets his father's letter : I have given u my heart as gift.
