Part 19
Kalpi is working in office busy with her projects when she feels a hand on her eyes. "Guess who?" Rahul utters.
K: Aww, the idiot's back! Rahul engulfs Kalpi in a bear hug which is witnessed by a jealous Raghav.
R POV: Why do you care...who she hugs. You have to get back at Kapoors. So, don't lose you focus but Kalpi is helping too..SO...She can't hug every random guy...ughh What is wrong with this girl and who the hell is this guy to hug her for so long...why is it bothering me so much...Cool...calm...God he, is still hugging her that's it I have to intervene...why isn't she breaking the hug...
Raghav walks into her cabin..."If you are done socializing at my expense, I would prefer if you return to your work. I pay you to work not mingle with nobody's who apparently can get through my guards!" Says Raghav solemnly.
K POV: Someone woke up on the wrong side of bed or got his pants twisted...I wonder If Ma knows if her Chintu is bipolar...Chintu...Where did the sweet, thank you saying, smiling Raghav thst dropped me home last night went? Kalpi, He is a FRIEND...that is it!
K: Sure Chintu, oops I guess you would not want the whole staff knowing your nickname. Kalpi says innocently but with a glint of mischief in her eyes.
R POV: Ah, your eyes I could be lost in them forever...so beautiful...so expressive...
Rahul: Kalpana...only you could have the nerve to speak to your boss in such a tone...Hi, I'm Rahul...Kalpi's better half...her best friend and a documentary filmmaker (hence can get anywhere).
Raghav felt his heart constrict when Rahul said Kalpi was his better half...like a part of his wanted to curl up in fetal position and cry out.
Raghav: Oh, best friends...I'm Raghav...her extraordinary boss...I bet you have heard about me.
Kalpi in a low voice but audible for Raghav to hear...Little shy on humbleness, aren't we zka?
Rahul(awkwardly not wanting Kalpi in trouble)...Ya, she says the best things about you. So how about being a great boss and letting her spend the rest of the day with her Dubai return friend?
Kalpi: I'm in this room too and would prefer if you both acknowledge that and stop calling me "Her". It makes me feel like your one day girls, Rahul. Besides, I have work to complete and I will be seeing you tonight at Ma's house...She invited you too and as usual I have to be your pager to remind you! Grow up will you?
Rahul reluctantly leaves, Raghav observes Kalpi's smile flattering down.
R: You could finish this work tomorrow...It is okay if you want to leave.
Kalpi is shocked with such a concerned response..."Thank you," with a smile "My lord, but I prefer to finish one task at hand and then move to next".
Raghav gives her a smile and leaves.
Meanwhile, Sammy and Pakhi have started to officially date each other; they are still taking it slow.
Dinner
Sammy, Paakhi, Rahul, Kalpi, Raghav and Gauri all enjoy a great dinner at Raghav's home. Raghav is shocked to see so many faces and smiles in his home. This was the first family dinner from the time he became an orphan. Kalpi understanding his thought covers his hands with hers. "Feeling blessed, I know the feeling and this is why we believe in God. He might be late but there. Enjoy each moment and live it to the fullest instead of wondering when it will vanish, free advice you see...My lord." Both share an eye lock...their eyes comforting and talking...No words necessary.
They are pulled to reality with Paakhi's loud voice urging the whole party to play charades. Sammy, Pakhi and Ma are in one team and Kalpi, Raghav and Rahul in second team.
Kalpi's team decide to give Sammy the movie, "Dil wale dulhaniya le gaye gain". Sammy tried to reenact with the train scene and bridal attire. Paakhi guesses the movie. Ma says "Dil wale to dulhan ley gaye". This causes both Paakhi and Sammy to blush.
Paakhi gives Rahul the movie, "Mujhse Dosti Karoge?" He tries to reenact the handshake and e mail writing". Kalpi guess the movie and receives a bear hug from Rahul causing Raghav to curl his fingers into fists. R POV: Can't this guy go 10 hours until engulfing her in another hug? PDA much!
Rahul then gives Paakhi the movie "Hum Apke Hain Kon", Paakhi reenacts the flower on posterior and Ma guess the movie.
Sammy gives Kalpi the movie "3 idiots"...Guys guess the number 3 but she doesn't know how to reenact. Raghav is seething since he hates to lose and in his own words is daring Kalpi to do something to win. Kalpi in stubbornness then grabs Raghav instinctively and is about to kiss him on the lips but points to the nose...They both then forget the game, people and focus on each other's eyes and lips. Their face is so close that one word from either would cause their lips to brush across each other.
K POV: God! He is so handsome...his lips look so tempting, his scent or cologne...OMG Kalpi...what is wrong with you...such a gutter mind...Cleanse your brain...you are turning into a dumb blonde...
R POV: Oh My...Kalpi...you look gorgeous...your lips so succulent, so pink...if only I brush my lips against yours how would they feel. Your eyes so naughtily daring me to kiss you and claim your lips until they turn red and swelled...
Rahul snaps them back into reality screaming 3 idiots. Gauri is happy seeing this interaction and felt like knocking Rahul with bat for interrupting. After all it isn't every day, she gets to see such intense real love story unraveling before her eyes.
G POV: Ah so my dear sherini and my baby chintu feel something for each other...I can bet and win that neither would take the first step unless I intervene...Stubborn kids (rolls her eyes)
Raghav's and Kalpi's breaths are hitched and they are blushing profusely. Kalpi then suggests it is getting late and they should call it the night.
Sammy and Paakhi leave together. Kalpi is about to leave with Rahul dropping her but Raghav interrupts.
Raghav: I can drop Kalpi home...I have to discuss some office stuff. You go ahead Rahul. Nice to meet you again.
Raghav POV: (Stay away from Kalpi...she is Mine...MINE!... Raghav stop saying all this in head and say it out loud...no way I have to focus on Revenge...no distractions...cold turkey..)
Kalpi is staring at Raghav with her eyes big as saucers.
K POV: He called me Kalpi... It sounded so surreal...I wish he could repeat it again and again...Office stuff but everything is done and ready...oh maybe he wants to talk about Kapoors.
Rahul: What ...Raghav, if I didn't know better; it would seem like you are intentionally not letting me and Kalpi spend time together.
K: Rahul, stop being a drama queen. It looks like those girls are finally getting to you with their germs.
Rahul hugs Ma and Kalpi and leaves. Kalpi too hugs Ma and tells her to take care.
Raghav POV: Here he goes again with a hug...After this revenge is over...I will make sure no man ever lays a hand on my Kalpi...my??? Focus!! I'm tired of fighting my inner self ughh.
Car
K: Nice code word...office for Kapoors. "says sarcastic Kalpi.
R: Coming from the girl who couldn't reenact a scene from 3 idiots. Nice...utters an equally sarcastic Raghav.
K: Okay, fighting won't do us any good. Let's concentrate on task on hand...We first have to spook Neetu first.
R: Finally, you are talking sense...what do you mean by spook?
K: Meaning we would hire someone to stalk her...know her routine...show her Ma's glimpse and spook her into telling this to Sahil Kapoor. Once we break their trust of crimes together we can get them to make a mistake and make them suffer emotionally and physically.
R: Isn't it a bit too filmy? Spooking them into confession.
K: It might be but they won't confess. This is to make them feel guilty. They must have some proof and until we don't find them we need this plan. It will be your word against them. As far as Pre...Prem is concerned; we can destroy him financially fair and square. His ego and false sense of money security is all that matters to him.
Raghav notices Kalpi hesitation on taking that bas***d's name. Raghav instinctively puts his hands on Kalpi's shoulder ensuring her that she is safe.
R: I'm sorry, I know you love and care for mom but why are you going to such lengths for helping us? I have always been surrounded by people who want to be around me for some reason, money, fame or stability. What will you gain from this?
K: Ma's happiness. Her redemption. She lived in woman's shelter home when she could afford 100s...She worked her whole life. She raised me. She was my pillar of strength now it is my turn and I won't turn shy. I leant from the best to face fears and knock them dead, no matter how scary they seem.
R POV: Heart of gold. Mom gave you a perfect nickname...an angel!
Raghav goes a bit further from chawl and breaks the car hard but his first priority is Kalpi's safety. He makes sure to place an arm protecting her from windshield.
K POV: He saved me before himself...that is so sweet of him...I mean Raghav...this is the second time I'm someone's first priority.
K: Thank you and good night...Smile more often, my Lord...It suits you more.
