Part 18
Raghav drops Gauri at his home.
R: What I was your boss, then friend now driver? Could your highness escort herself towards front seat?
K(shocked): Umm...sure I mean yes sir.
Raghav rolls his eyes..."could you close your mouth, it is a disturbing sight.
R POV: Your lips look so edible apart...I wish I could just grab you and kiss you senselessly...Control...She is a friend... remember or you left your brain in the mansion and don't drool...But she is the reason I met my mother...how can I not but like her a bit...Keep telling your ego (LIKE)...we both know you feel way more than like her...shut up
Kalpi glares at him; "Only you could go to office after meeting your mother."
Raghav solemnly replies, "Thank you Kalpana. I...I don't know how to repay you...you gave me back the mother who I forgot...who I loathed and showed me how helpless and clueless she was too for all this time."
K: " I didn't do anything...and now we equals. You saved me from Samr...him and I brought a woman who you should cherish till the end of times. Ma is the best, you have to make sure she takes her medications on time. She is allergic to air fresheners and peanuts. She has to have her paper first thing in morning. And I repeat never argue with her in morning, she turns into grizzly bear."
R: You are very close to her... I mean to mom. How come you never told anyone about hostel?
K: It is past and it is mentioned what school I attended in my resume. Yes, she is half my heart. She was there when I felt no one was.
R: Do I get to hear your past story?
K: I thought you didn't like sob stories...something along the lines, "one should find solutions to their own problems" wiggled Kalpi's eyebrows...Just Kidding... Maybe someday...not today!
Both reach office and get busy in their world of commitments, presentations and meetings.
Lunch Time
Gauri tries to wonder how lonely and colorless Raghav's life must have been. She decided to freshen up and makes Bhindi for Raghav and Puranpoli for Kalpi.
Raghav and Kalpi are in car quiet, blushing and embarrassed. Each waiting for the other one to resume conversation again.
Flashback
Kalpi is intensely lost in her work and didn't realize Raghav had slipped in her office.
R POV: aww, she looks so cute with her nose scrunched up, focusing on work. Bet she doesn't even know I'm here. Let's scare her for being a smart mouth.
Raghav put his arms on the table trapping Kalpi in between and leans towards her ear. "It is lunch time and I can hear your stomach growling from here. So move and let's go home mom is waiting."
Kalpi is shocked and jumps at Raghav's presence.
K POV: What is he doing? Haven't he heard something about personal bubble. Zka kahi ka...my stomach isn't growling...maybe it is but he doesn't have to announce that...ughh...He is a friend or enemy...
Kalpi tries to move up but ends up bumping her head on Raghv's nose.
R: Ouch, can't you see...My perfect nose...
K: Well, you were hogging my personal space. Kalpi is rubbing his nose. "Sorry"
R: Not bad, say sorry while catching your ears.
K: WHAT...I mean it is your fault...She tries to move away but seeing cockroach she jumps and makes herself and Raghav land on sofa.
K: AAA, cockroach. Move it away, Please. Please.
R: You are scared of a roach...haha
K: Well then you move it. Mr. High and Mighty...I can withstand anything
R: I would but your see there is technical issue that you are hugging me so tightly that I am finding it very hard to breathe.
R POV: Raghav...shut up and enjoy her body pressed against you...It is not everyday...Thank you roach! You have lost it...
Kalpi feeling embarrassed that she indeed was clinging onto him very tightly. Raghav is about to kill the roach when Kalpi stops him.
K: Don't kill it...Just make it leave this room. Leave him outside the window. He might have a family to fend for.
Raghav is in awe so how subtle her heart is.
Present (At Raghav's Home)
Kalpi and Raghav are digging on food as if they were on hunger strike and Gauri is happy seeing them like this. Once they were done eating and admiring Gauri's cooking skills,
G: I recall my memory 100%. Chintu, Kalpi...I want you to hear all of it without interruptions okay?
Both nod their heads like kids when teacher says something.
G: You dad and I had some marital problems which I'm sure were caused by people responsible for his death. I loved your father very much Chintu and you. I remember I came home early that day and saw the man...claiming how can he do a deal with Vitthal. The man's ego was the reason of your father's demise. He injected a chemical in your father that would read as heart attack in post mortem. I screamed to stop him but he had his goons who came after me. As much as I wanted to take you and run away, I thought if I get to police; I would be able to save us both. The goons struck my head but police came before they could kill me. Next thing, I know I found Mrs. Feroz and moved to Panchgani without any recollection of this incident. The man responsible was no other than...(looking into Kalpi then Raghav's eyes)...Sahil Kapoor. I'm sure Neetu was his partner in crime.
Raghav hearing this is clutching his fist real hard and moves towards the door only to be held by Gauri's cries. Kalpi is consoling Gauri Ma..
R: I will kill them all. I will avenge our sorrows, dad's death. I'm going now.
G: No, no they will kill you...I just found you...they will take you away from me.
Kalpi takes a glass of water and pours it over Raghav's head. He glares at her.
R: What the Hell?
K(innocently): Sorry, I had to knock some sense in you and cold water replenishes anger. We agreed to listen without interruptions. For once, killing them would mean you in jail and you and mom would be apart again. This is not a way to take revenge. Firstly, you need guards around Ma and you. They don't know Ma is alive and we could use that to our advantage. Killing them is an easy death...they need to endure slow pain for stirring other's lives for their selfish greed. We have to plan each move carefully.
R: We...
K: Yes, we...they tried to mess mine, yours, aii's and now Ma's life...I vowed never to let any harm on Ma...and now they have to pay...Had they done this to me, I would have forgiven them but with Ma...my Ma...nope and Ma you said na...one should fight back the evil in people not the person...they are consumed by evilness...
Raghav and Ma are in awe but agree with Kalpi. Ma phones rings,
Ma: Rahul (in an enthusiastic voice)...How are you, son?
Kalpi rolls her eyes.
Rahul: Ma, I have been calling Kalpi. She isn't answering. Are you both alright? Guess what I'm returning back tomorrow!!!
Ma: Oh really, she didn't pick up. No we are fine... Here talk to Kalpi.
Kalpi is shaking her head in a no, as if to tell she had not had the chance to tell Rahul of events.
R POV: who is this Rahul. Why are Ma and Kalpi so friendly with him. They both are in awe of him, like he is a greek god or something.Now you are jealous of a guy...Pathetic.
K: Rahul!! You are returning. That is awesome!I can't wait for you to be back.
Gauri is watching Raghav fuming over Kalpi-Rahul conversation.
G: Ah so this ziddi, Khadoos and Akhroh...son of mine feels something for Kalpi. This shall be interesting.
Raghav: Mom, who is this guy? Is he trustworthy? Why are you acting as if he is your blood son.
Gauri hits Raghav's head slightly. "He is a great guy and stop being jealous." If you want something you should work towards it, you know." Hinting towards Kalpi.
" I don't know what you are talking about." Raghav replies.
