Kalpana was stacking books on the shelf.She was
a librarian.She loved books.As Kalpana put the
last book away,she headed towards the check in/
out counter.There was a pile of books to be
checked in.Kalpana took her seat behind the
counter and began scanning the books in.
"Excuse me" said a gentle masculine voice.
Kalpana looked up to see a man with warm brown
eyes.'He was handsome'thought Kalpana.The man
raised his eyebrows.Kalpana shook her thoughts
out of her mind and asked
"Yes,how may I help you?"
"By just saying yes"
"Excuse me"
"Will you go out for a coffee with me?"
"But I barely know you"
"My name is Raghav and I am 22 years old and
you look like you are 21 years old..Kalpana"
"How do you know my name"
Raghav gestured to her name tag.
"Oh"
"I'll take that as a yes" said Raghav
Kalpana smiled.Months passed with Raghav and
Kalpana frequently meeting each other.One day
Kalpana confessed she loved him and he told her
he loved her too.But a few weeks later,Raghav
began drifting away from her.He would
occasionally lie to her but she would sometimes
find out.One day Kalpana was walking home when
she saw Raghav with a couple of guys around the
same age.'But he told me he wasn't feeling
well'thought Kalpana.Kalpana walked up to him and
tapped his shoulder.Raghav turned around and
turned pale.
"Raghav?What are you doing here?"
"Who's Raghav? "asked a guy next to Raghav.Kalpana
pointed at Raghav.The guy continued "He's not
Raghav,his name is...
Raghav glared at him making him quiet and Kalpana
confused.Raghav took hold of Kalpana's arm and
took her far from the group.
"Kalpana,what are you doing here?"
"Raghav,this is the way I go home and what are
you doing here?And why was that guy saying
your real name wasn't Raghav?"
Raghav took a sigh and said
"My real name isn't Raghav"
"What?That means you lied to me"
"Yes.In fact you were just a past time for me"
"What?But I loved you"
"But I never did"
Tears brimmed at Kalpana's eyes at knowing his
real identity.
"I can't believe I fell in love with you.I should
have never fallen in love with you!I hate you!I
can't believe you took my love as a past time!I
hate you!"
She turned and ran home to let tears out.
Pakhi was Kalpana's best friend.She knew
Kalpana's love story from the beginning til the
end.She took care of Kalpana.
Present (After 2 Years)

"Come on Kalpi.It's going to be so much fun"
said Pakhi in a blue dress til her knees.
"I don't know Pakhi.I don't have a good feeling
about this" said Kalpana in a bright red sari.
"Of course you don't.I mean you are wearing a
sari plus you feel like this in every party we go
to.Now come on lets get a drink." said Pakhi
dragging her to the bar. "Two orange
juices" Pakhi ordered.The juices arrived and they
began to drink it."Oh Kalpi you know the last
few parties we have been to.Good thing we left
early"
"Why is that?"
"You know if we stayed even a bit longer at
those party then god knows what would've
happend.When we had left,Panther had came
with his gang?"
"Panther?"
"Panther.The world's biggest criminal.He has
never been caught.So Panther and his gang
came and everybody at the party was held at
gun point.Seems like they were looking for
someone"
"Was everyone safe.What if he comes here?We
shouldn't have come at all"
"Everybody was safe and come on just because
he was found on the last few parties we've been
to,doesn't mean he'll be everywhere.Anyways,I
am going to go to on the dance floor,you wanna
come?"
"I'll stay here"
"Okay"
Pakhi went to the dance floor and eventually
disappeared into the crowd.Kalpana finished her
orange juice and kept it aside.She got lost into
Panther's thoughts.Such a big criminal.Never
been caught.He and his gang had appeared at
the latest parties,she and Pakhi had been
too.Good thing she and Pakhi left before they
came.Kalpana sighed looking around.Suddenly
there was a sound of a gun shot.
"Everybody stay where you are and don't dare
move a muscle" yelled an oddly familiar
voice.Kalpana froze.Was it Panther.The criminal
Pakhi had been talking about.The men with the
guns began moving around looking closely at the
people's faces and comparing it with a
photograph they had.
"Looks like I have finally found you"
Kalpana turned around immediately to see
Raghav..no...whatever his real name was.
"What are you doing here?"
"It's a party.What do people do here?"
Kalpana rolled her eyes and saw the men were
still looking around.Kalpana slowly began to walk
away from him making sure the men didn't
notice her.
"Where do you think you are going?" he said
grabbing her wrist.
"Let me go" commanded Kalpana
"Or else?"
"Or else,I'll yell and those men will see"
"Here I'll help you" he said "Boys,I found her"
The men looked at him and Kalpana.They walked
up to them.Kalpana's heart began racing.She was
scared.
"Great then lets go Panther" said one of the men.
"Panther?"
Raghav..whatever his name was smirked."I am
Panther"
And everything went black.
