Next morning Kalpi woke up and smiled to herself while stretching her lazy bones! She looks around and finds Maya sleeping like a teenager with mouth open and hair all over her face.
Kalpi chuckles a bit and thinks to herself that no matter if you are rich or poor every human looks so innocent while sleeping and looking at Maya ma'am now who would think she is the sophisticated MD of a big Company!?
She clears off the hair strands on Maya's face and covers her with a sheet properly and leaves to freshen up!
She is feeling excited and all geared up. Tiny butterflies fluttering in her tummy she wonders now why am I so excited or nervous the main part of the presentation is already done with but ya today its the results! She remembered that she used to have the same feeling before every result of her school or college were announced or put up on the board!
Today's awards were no less than a result to her examination! All her hardwork and her time went into this so the Singhaniya Constructions better get an award!!! Then I can prove my credibility to the world! Just because I failed in my exams does not mean that I am incapable!
After she washed her face and brushed her teeth she walked into Maya's kitchen! It was huge and filled with all the necessary things! She was so impressed and thought that our house is as bif as this kitchen and we lived our entire life in it! Someday I am going to get a bigger house for my family and Aai and baba will be so happy!
She searches for milk and finds it in the refrigerator!
She gets everything she has been looking for and then makes 2 cups of coffee! While making Coffee she remembers her moments with Raghav when she fed him the breakfast, thinking if he had something to eat or is he busy working or talking into his phone!
She carries the coffee to the bedroom where Maya was sitting with eyes half closed and drooping head as if she was about to sleep again!
Maya Ma'am coffee at your bed! Please wake up its 8.30 AM already!!
Whaaa???? arree yaarrr!!!! Hmmm yawn!!! she scratches her hair and replies I want to sleep atleast till 11AM.
Kalpi:Come on Maya Ma'am please hv a coffee and see how will be ready to dance throughout the day! and she brings the cup closer to her nose! The coffee was strong just how she liked and she opened her eyes! Wow! Bed coffee!!!! Must hv been ages now! My mom used to pamper me like this Kalpi! God bless you!
She takes a sip and her eyes are wide open! Wow! Perfect! This is excellent! Kalpi you make amazing Coffee dear no wonder Raghav is all crazy about you! If I were a guy I wouldn't have lost a chance of falling in love with you! Sigh!
Kalpi laughed...OhKkk...errrmmm...Actually the last line is making me freak out!!!!
Maya laughs too and explains nahi yaar firtly you look great and then you are smart!!! and finally you can cook amazing food tell me one reason why are you single yet!!!!
Kalpi smiles ruefully looking at Maya...I can give you a list of reasons Ma'am but then I guess you already know why!
Maya was getting irritated with Kalpi referring her as Ma'am.
Call me di! My sister used to call me that before she...uh...mmm...
Just call me di! okay? Kalpi figured something was wrong and guessed that probably Maya was not ready to talk about it yet so she did not ask her anything and Maya was grateful and relieved that Kalpi didnt broach that topic that whole day!
Oh No said Maya today is 21 July right? Kalpi looked confused? Yes why? Oh dear its Raghav's birthday today! And look at me what an idiot I am I forgot to wish him! I am always the one to wish him the first every year! Just as she was about to call Raghav she gets a call on her phone! She gets busy talking when Kalpi feels embarassed! Its Raghav's birthday and she did not even know!!!
He could have said na...huh Khadoos akdu adiyal!!! oops no calling names on his b'day! I want to give him something but what?
Maya joins her and tells to get ready in half an hour as they need to leave for shopping Raghav's gift! She also informed her that no one was going to wish him as Sammy n Maya were planning a surprise in the evening!
She felt all the more excited, shy and nervous thinking oh so this what they called mixed feelings...
Both the girls were ready and met up with Sammy! Sammy strictly warned the girls not to wish him before he asks them to!
He informs them that the awards function will start at 4pm will go on till 6pm a break for an hour and then will start the dinner followed by the music and dance program.
So we will wish him in that one hour and celebrate it there!
The girls agreed in unison! They divided the work Sammy was to get the cake and card. Kalpana asked him to ensure he gets a chocolate cake. Sammy looks at her surprised and says well well look who's been secretly knowing about Raghav's favourite flavour, Mrs Singhania?!
Kalpi keeps a hand on her hips and gives a straight look to Sam! He changed the topic immdtly!
There at the hotel room Raghav wakes up with a smile thinking today Kalpi will surely call him and wish him! He checks his phone! No missed calls no messages even Sam missing in the room!
Raghav darts in to the washroom to get fresh! He comes out all ready and keeps wondering why is it that even Maya did not wish him usually she manages to call him first every year and wish him no matter wherever she was and today she is here in Delhi ...oh!! He smiles and nods in his head! I am so sure she will come here and wish me!
The whole day passes Maya finds a gift for Raghav its an expensive cravat and a brooch studded with rubies on it! Kalpi looks on thinking what should she give as she has no money left for such expenses! She just wandered off the shops and then back to the place where Maya had asked her to meet!
They both head back to get ready to look gorgeous and ready to kill the crowd!
Maya looks at Kalpi and is unable to believe its the same Kalpi she knows! She lent her wonderfully beautiful stone studded long earrings and an bracelet that she thought would add to Kalpi's slender wrists. Kalpi felt a bit overdressed and was concious about her blouse! Maya di I feel I have not worn anything! Is it too revealing! Maya looks at her and says Yes!!! It does reveal your awesome tattoo on your back wow! I never knew you had a tatoo this pretty you should be flaunting it than hiding it!
Oh no di! Thats a big story my parents also dont know I have a tatoo there! I had got this done on the insistence of one of my friends in Panchagain boarding school!
Maya smiled and said it looks sexy! Kalpi winced at the ease with which Maya used that word! Frankly she did not want to look sexy but there was someone for whom she wanted to look good today!
Raghav was dejected that no one wished him today! Not even Sammy everytime he tried to remind Sammy of the date, he would either avoid it completely or get busy on his phone! He was in a very very foul mood now!
The girls had also got Raghav a bouquet!
On the other hand Prem was dreaming about Kalpana in his room and imagining how pretty she would look and will he be able to control himself this evening!.. Beep Bep his mobile alerts him of a message received he checks it and smiles to himself thinking it is from Kalpi!!!
He reads it and throws the mobile in anger with tears from his eyes he walks to the bathroom puts on the shower and sits on an inverted bucket in the bathtub! His eyes turning red with tears not stopping! He felt so helpless at the moment! He felt like killing Raghav!
Kalpi had messaged him that it was Raghav's b'day today and she was very excited and she had asked him if he thought it would be appropriate if she let Raghav know her true feelings for him. she had wanted Prem's opinion on her idea!
Prem could not bear all of this happening in front of his eyes! He was so jealous of Raghav right now! But why blame him! He and his mother's foolishness has made him see this day! How come he never realised his feelings for Kalpi to date? He sat under the shower for hours deciding not to go for the awards as he wont be able to see Kalpana with another man especially that Raghav Singhaniya!!!
Kalpi was waiting for a reply from Prem and she did not get any yet! Maybe I should talk to Prem before I say anything to Raghav!
Maya and Kalpi reached the conference hall on time to make a dashing entry where all heads turned to their direction making Kalpi concious as never had she been admiring looked upon by such a huge crowd! Maybe this is how movie stars and celebrities feel she chuckled and basked in the glory of the compliments and the beautifully lit Hall.
Unknowingly she was actually looking out for Prem rather than Raghav and hence missed Raghav when he came in front of her!
Raghav felt very very disappointed and humiliated as he had approached Kalpi with a smile and was about to compliment how great she looked!
He had been looking at the entrance right from the moment he reached there waiting in anticipation of a glance of his beloved angel! Though he was angry she did not wish him he thought maybe she did not know it was his birthday! As Maya and Sammy his best friends too had forgotten his b'day how could he expect Kalpi to remember?
The moment he saw his jaw dropped and he kept staring at her!
He lost the sense of time and surrounding and all he could feel was a strong desire to grab her in his arms. He did not blink even once and slowly he realised he was gaping at her he noticed many young men drooling at her and he frowned. He walked on to approach her before anyone else does!
And when Kalpi walked past him ignoring him (he never realised it was unintentional) he thought so finally success has gone into her head! Now she is ignoring me, so much attitude in this girl! Hmmmph! I will show her that she means nothing to me! After all, I am The Raghav Singhaniya!
