Part 21updated: The phone convo! Njoi!
Raghav's heart was beating faster in the hope to hear her voice! Aah her voice did wonders to him. He felt soothed and relaxed whenever he heard! I wish to hear her call my name in her sweet voice, the phone was ringing! But she always called him 'Sir' which kinf of made their relation very formal! Raghav did not want anything professional or formal between them now! For him she was already his future wife!
No other woman had ever enjoyed the proximity to him like Kalpi did. Raghav who was always so revenge oriented, kept himself away from the feelings of love and interaction with women always. Not that he had less number drooling over him for his wealth, power and his looks! They were too shallow for him. No one could move him like Kalpi did! No one could stir up that emotion in him that Kalpi had managed to do! He felt so weak and vulnerable in front of her and yet felt so strong that he can face anything or anyone if she is with him. He wanted to open up in front of her. He wanted there to be no secrets between them. He wanted Kalpi!
The phone kept ringing and finally it was answered. Raghav smiled, and said in a very sexy, taunting and husky tone, so now you have got a perfect excuse for not coming to work isn't it? Before he could say something more he heard someone else say hello. This was surely not Kalpi. But the voice reminded him of somebody very dear to him. He stood rooted to the place and got transported to a lost world. On hearing no response from Raghav's side the person said, Hello beta, I know you have called for Kalpi but she in the bathroom now. And she will take some time. Should I ask her to call you back?
Raghav: hmmm? Kamla maa? Is that you?
It was Gauri. She had seen the phone ringing and saw Raghav's name flashing. She did not want Kamla to see it or pick it up so she answered Kalpi's phone with a smile.
When she heard Raghav she instantly knew that he was not just Kalpi's boss! Their relation was much on a personal level and much deeper than what they could see!
She smiled and had asked him If she could pass the message to Kalpi to call him back later.
On asking if Raghav was talking to Kamla maa. Gauri said, No I am not Kamla but ya you can call me maa! Raghav's heart stopped beating. He did feel like he was hearing his mother's voice and he suddenly felt the urge to go meet her and talk to her!
I am Kalpi's Atya! She said smiling. And I know you are dying to talk to her but wrong timing. You will have to wait.
Raghav: How is she now?
Gauri: Well physically she is doing much better but mentally...
Raghav: (panick in his voice)What mentally what mom? He was taken aback himself! Did he just call her mom? Why?
Gauri: Paused and felt uneasy as if she had been referred to Mom even before. Some blurred images of a small boy running around and yelling Mom come mom catch me!
She blurted Chintu beta!
Raghav: Almost dropped the phone in his hand! Chintuuu!!???? Is that what she called? That's my name. Mom used to call me Chintu! Is she really I mean how & when?
Gauri: Came back to the present and saw a small boy playing in the balcony running around. She called out to him. Beta be careful warna aap giroge! Go and play downstairs.
Raghav: Oh she is talking to some other kid in the chawl! Phew! How could I even think of it! My Mom in Kalpi's house? But they did say that...
Gauri: Haan beta mentally Kalpi is very disturbed I guess she has been waiting for your call since morning! She will be happy to hear that you called. Wait! Here she comes. Gauri saw Kalpi coming out of the bathroom. She called her out and gave her the phone and said now finally relax as ur boss has called. Kalpi blushed and took the phone in her hand and looked around for Kamla. She was nowhere to be seen.
Gauri told her I sent Kamla to buy bhindi my favourite vegetable. And winked. Now you can talk at home with full privacy I will go and sit down for a while. Nahi attu its ok said Kalpi.
Raghav: What's going on? I call Kalpi and I get to hear everything but her voice! He started to get frustrated.
Kalpi: Hello Sir!
Raghav: Closed his eyes and smiled. Now he could feel her next to him whispering in his ears, her sound like music to him. Hmmm Kalpi! Toh tumhe achha bahaana mil gaya mujhse dur rehne ka! (You have now got a perfect excuse to stay away from me.)
Kalpi: Kyun Sir?
Raghav: Who actually mujhe poochna tha ki who Mehta's ke liye banaayi presentation kahan hai? Where have you kept the presentation for the Mehta's?
Kalpi: Oh Sir I am so sorry I think I have left the CD in my table drawer, but it is locked. If you can send Sammy or Paakhi I will give you the key to my locker!
Raghav: Smiled, why can I not come and pick it up myself? By the way you have just hurt your leg and not your hands and fingers right? Then you can work from home as well.
Kalpi: How can I do that Sir? I do not have access to files here at home.
Raghav: Well you can access them online ok. I will make arrangements to send a laptop to you with a plug in WiFi.
Kalpi: ok Sir! Fine then. By the way how is it going in the office.
Raghav: Wanted to tell her that it is horrible mess here without her, but then did not want to trouble her so he lied to her saying everything is normal!
Kalpi: Ok then. Already disappointed that not once did he ask about her foot! Or show concern :/ Is there anything else to be done, Sir?
Raghav: guessed she was irritated by now and smiled a naught smile. He so loved to irritate her. He wished he could see her cute face now acting all angry. He nodded his head and said I hope you are feeling better now. By the way you almost embarrassed me yesterday.
Kalpi: Frowned! I am much better but why what did I do?
Raghav: Woh Vitthal uncle thought that hmmm. U know! You were all over me yesterday!
Kalpi: trying to remember hard. What do you mean all over you. I was tired but not drunk to not remember what I did!
Raghav: Laughed and said you looked so amazing yesterday that I was almost tempted to...
Kalpi: hands n legs were turning into jelly, colour rising on her cheeks and her breathing turned heavy, she blushed!
Bye Sir! And she disconnected the call. She held the phone close to her heart as if Raghav was inside the phone.
Gauri: Ho gayi baat? Now can I come and sit inside.
Kalpi: Attu stop teasing me aisa kuch nahi hai (nothing like that).
Gauri: I think your boss likes you a lot!
Kalpi wanted to hide her face somewhere. Attu you are getting naughtier by the day!
Gauri laughed and hugged Kalpi and kissed her forehead! Our Kalpi is so sweet that everyone will lose their hearts to her!
Kamla entered the room and saw Kalpi and Gauri hugging! She felt jealous.
Tai I bought ur bhindi! Will make the sabzi in the night! Ok?
Gauri nodded and said Thanks Kamla it was very sweet of you!
Kamla asked Kalpi how she felt and was about to go to her when Paakhi called her up. She picked up her phone and went outside! Kalpi felt ignored once again! Though it would not be wrong to say that she was getting used to it. But she felt worse than the previous time every time!
