Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav entered Singhania group of companies to report for the first day of her internship. At the reception she was given an identity card and shown the way to conference room. She went in and sat down on an empty seat in the first row, at a careful distance from Pakhi. The room is almost full with young beaming faces, must be interns like her she thought. Most of them are merrily talking to each other and seemed full of life, unlike her she sighed dryly

After a couple of minutes the room suddenly went silent and there was pin drop silence as Mr.Raghav Singhania entered the room. Dressed in Navy Blue three piece suit he is looking suave, debonair, sophisticated, and regal with sharp jaw line, aquiline nose, chiselled body, brooding face and killer smirk to make any woman swoon. His every move is screaming majesty and power...he is a perfect man every woman dreams to have a piece of him. Kalpi could hear faint sounds of Aww... from girls while almost all men in the room envied his looks and status. Mr.Singhania mumbled a good morning and surveyed the room with stern eyes.

"You," he suddenly pointed to Kalpana startling her, "You an intern, right?"

"Y... Yes Sir," she replied nervously.

"Why are you sitting there, don't you know first line is reserved for the employees of the company? He asked sternly

"I am sorry, Sir. I didn't know where I'm supposed to sit", she replied

"You should be?" he said sharply. Better keep yourselves updated, I hate excuses, he spoke in cold tone. Before he continued further blasting on etiquette she was saved by Sammy, who guided her to an empty chair in the last row.

"All right, so as you all probably know we have hired you for six months internship and after successful completion, based on the appraisal you'll be taken on Singhania's pay roll. During the internship you will work in various departments like designing, finance, marketing and construction closely working with the allotted supervisors. We'll make sure to give equal exposure and training to all the interns and expect zeal and dedication in return, he spoke sharply.

"Your real life starts with this internship and to see how prepared you are, we'll take a written test and real life allows no cheating so try not to cheat" he said and left the room signalling his assistants to distribute the question sheets

Raghav's staff watched on as the new interns struggled with the questions for the next one hour. They wrote answers on the white board and asked the interns to grade the papers of the person sitting next to them and the next ten minutes passed in blink as grading was done.

"Anybody has a paper with full marks i.e. 25 marks asked Raghav

Earning silence from the group, he continued 24? 23? 22?

"Sir!" someone got up and handed him the paper, "Whose is this? Ms. Kalpana V.Jadhav he looked at the group while Kalpi got up gingerly.

Raghav looked visibly surprised, but he didn't say anything. Just nodded and indicated her to sit down. Several people stood up at 15-18 as expected. He asked Sammy to guide them in completing the paper work and assign the duties before leaving the room. Except Sammy, entire room breathed a heavy sigh with his exit.

All the interns were guided to the HR department for paper work, certificate verification and rest of the formalities. Staff orientation, assigning the duties was done in the post lunch. To Kalpi's irritation and shock, she was assigned the desk next to Pakhi. Apart from Pakhi there is one more girl named Priya and rest are men. Priya congratulated Kalpi for her performance and praised for making an impression on the first day itself. Kalpi smiled nervously, she did not know what to say. Other interns were also made acquaintance with her. And the day passed pretty quickly.

When they were about to leave for their day a young lady in mid 20's came running to them calling for Kalpi.

"You are Ms.Jadhav, right?? She asked politely

"Yeah...may I know your good name please?" replied Kalpi.

"Oh sorry I wasn't there during staff orientation...I am Snigdha Choudary, P.A to Mr. Raghav Singhania...you can call me Snigdha" she said smiling. You have a beautiful name appreciated Kalpi and I prefer Kalpana if you are fine with it, she added. They instantly clicked with each other.

"Kalpana before I forgot to tell Mr.Khadoos err... our boss wants you to see him in his cabin", informed snigdha

"Hey why are calling him Khadoos, is he very strict to work with" asked Kalpi.

"Strict is too small word for him, he is a living terror" replied Snigdha.

"Don't get panic honey, I am preparing you for the future" she calmed Kalpi sensing her worry. "Really" asked Kalpi

"I don't want to frighten you but just keep all your senses open while dealing with Sir, he indeed got a very bad temper" she continued.

"You are too much Snigdha," Kalpi could not help feeling amused hearing about his description.

Although Kalpi had rubbished Snigdha's words, she felt terrorized while knocking the door remembering Raghav's arrogance and strict demeanour from her last interactions with him

"May I come in, Sir?"

"Yes" came a stern voice

"Good Evening Sir...I was informed to meet you in person"

"Yes. Please sit down Ms. Jadhav"

Raghav didn't think twice while sending his PA to call Kalpi, that time he just wanted to see her once. Now seeing her right in front of him in his own cabin, he struggled to make conversation and stayed silent. Kalpi panicked with his silence thinking that he called to blast her for the morning issue; indeed it was her mistake she thought to herself.

"Sir, I know it was my mistake to sit...he cut her words in a sharp tone, did I asked you to speak, Ms.Jadhav?? She nodded a silent No

"This is ridiculous, why should I call her for no reason" Raghav mumbled and sighed in exasperation

"Sir you said something", asked Kalpi

"You did good job Ms.Jadhav...I'm glad you haven't disappointed me at least for now" he said coldly.

Kalpi's heart which was busy doing a little somersault with his compliment sulked on his next words.

"I always thought toppers know everything but you did proved me wrong by skipping three questions in the test", he spoke mockingly

Kalpi has to pay extra effort to swallow the raising fury on his blatant insult.

"Of course Sir, topper's do know everything, so do I...but the questions I have skipped are related to field work which I am not accomplished with", she replied firmly.

"Why don't you test my competency after completion of internship before mocking my grades" she added soberly.

"Gosh... this girl seriously has attitude to kill", Raghav laughed mentally hearing her reply, thoroughly impressed though

"Interesting Ms.Jadhav, we'll see to it...all the best" he wished. Kalpi thanked him and left the room, sighing with relief.

"Get ready to face the terror honey", Snigdha said walking to Kalpi with some papers. "What does that mean" asked Kalpi in confusion.

"Today Sammy Sir has saved you from Khadoos but who will save you for the next six months", she said showing the papers...Kalpi, Pakhi and one male intern will be reporting to Raghav directly.

"Really? RS ke saath" Kalpi was genuinely excited. She has done good amount of research on him and the company and working directly under him is a fortune for the beginners

"oh my...I haven't seen anybody getting excited to face death on daily basis" exclaimed Snigdha

"Snigdha you know him better than me, he is best in the industry. Do you know what that means to work directly under him?? I'll will get the chance to learn so much from him that will help to shape my career" replied Kalpi

"If you are happy working with him, that's great but please take care" she said leaving

Though Kalpi was excited to work with the Khadoos deep down she felt uncomfortable remembering his merciless taunts and insults. He is just your mentor for the next six months if he got huge attitude you are no less, prove it to him Kalpi, she promised herself to be strong and work hard without giving any room for his insults.

Little did she knew everything between them is going change in the next couple of months !
