A Twisted Tale Part 14
Next morning
Raghav was getting ready for office. He was feeling cranky as he could not sleep well last night. His servant told him that Sammy had left early today.
Raghav's POV: (while looking into mirror) Of course he left early to pick up miss awesome!!! How can Sammy forget me for her, these two are making me insane now. Whatever Raghav you have a very important meeting today... rest is useless.
At Chawl
Kalpi decided to leave for office by herself.
Kalpi's POV: before Sammy comes I will leave by myself. He doesn't have to do this for me.
She came out of the chawl and saw Sammy standing beside his car. He was smiling as if was telling that I'm smarter than you, Kalpi was a little embarrassed now.
Sammy: (sheepish grin) leaving early????
Kalpi: (acting normal) I always leave early.
Sammy: Ohh I see (sarcastically), so you weren't planning to ditch my wonderful car
Kalpi: not in million years.
Sammy gave her don't start with me kind a look.
Kalpi: alright, I was. But you are 15 min early how come??
Sammy: (chuckled) could not w8 more to see your pretty face.
Kalpi scowled and said, "lets go".
office
Pakhi was feeling restless in her cubical. She was wanted to talk with Sammy before they (Raghav & Pakhi) had to leave for receiving clients. She saw Kalpi & Sammy entering the office together. They were laughing at some joke cracked by Sammy. Pakhi stood in front of them.
Pakhi: hi Kalpi, hi Sammy.
Kalpi & Sammy both were standing there with shocked expressions. Kalpi was the first to reply.
Kalpi: hey Pakhi wassup.
Pakhi: Nothing just a little nervous about the presentation, can you help me?
Kalpi: (feeling the tension between Pakhi and Sammy) you know I hv some work pending, but Sammy can help you, haina Sammy.
Kalpi started going towards her cubicle and Sammy gave her you wanna die kinda look.
Sammy: (sarcastically) of course, what am I here for?
Sammy without looking at Pakhi stepped inside her cubicle. He just wanted to pass this time like a blink.
Pakhi: Thank you.
Sammy: what's the problem?
Pakhi: I want to talk to you about Raghav.
Sammy: haa!! Then go talk to him directly, I have no time for you.
Pakhi: meri baat to suno Sammy I just wanna say so... she tried to touch his arm but he shirked away. A chip from her hand fell into the glass of water. Sammy was oblivious to the situation.
Sammy: Don't Sammy me now. I have nothing to say or listen alright! I don't think you have any problem here so I better leave you alone.
Just then Raghav entered the cubicle. At first he was a little confused seeing them arguing.
Raghav: (Pakhi) Come fast we need to go.
Pakhi: give me two minutes.
Raghav & Sammy left the cubicle.
Raghav: Sammy, are you sure you & Kalpi don't want to attend the meeting?
Sammy: yeah, bt don't worry everything is ready here. Have you met this guy (client) before?
Raghav: not exactly but have seen his pictures. Mr Rony Grewal, kafi tedha aadmi hai, he invested in our company few months back. He owes me some money so offered to invest in my plan. It's His & his wife's first visit to India that's why I'm going to receive them personally.
Sammy: I understand.
Meanwhile, Kalpi went to Pakhi to wish her luck. Pakhi was panicking.
Kalpi: what's wrong Pakhi??
Pakhi: (immediately holds her hand) Kalpi, presentation wala chip paani mei gir gaya. Sab spoil ho gaya. Raghav will kill me if this deal got cancelled. It's all because of my carelessness. I have to go to airport and I don't know how to fix it too soon... (Hysterically)
Kalpi: Relax Pakhi, we'll find some way out, calm down.
Pakhi: Not possible Kalpi, I have ruined everything.
Kalpi: (consoling her) just go with Raghav. I'll make it again ok!
Pakhi: (apprehensively) but Kalpi you have no idea about this plan, then how would you do it?
Kalpi: don't think about it, just go and pretend to be normal. Trust me.
Pakhi: (smiles) I do! Bye.
Pakhi and Raghav left for airport and Sammy was busy supervising the preparations. The chip was of no use now but Kalpi still decided to reorganise it (whatsoever matter was left).
Kalpi's POV: I have only one hour before they return. I have to fix it anyhow, can't even tell this to Sammy. Pakhi really needs to pull this off and I will help her every way possible. I'll have some time to brief her about it before the meeting.
She was working like a machine. She had no other thing in her mind except completing the plan. Time was flying but she was ahead of it. Finally she finishes it before time. She prepared brief notes about each slide, which would help Pakhi to understand it. Raghav & Pakhi returned with clients.
Sammy: Kalpi, clients are here!
Kalpi: Coming.
They went to welcome the clients. Raghav face was all red, he looked upset reason unknown to everyone. Rony Grewal was an Indian origin Scottish man in his mid 40s. His wife, in her late 20s or early 30s may be, was a beautiful girl with brown curly hairs. When Sammy saw her face he could only muttered "shit"!!! which could not go unnoticed. Raghav introduces them with Sammy & Kalpi. But Kalpi was all wondering about Raghav's expressions.
Kalpi: Sammy, what's that you are not telling me?
Sammy: Priya.
Kalpi: (confused) huh??
Sammy: She is Priya... & Raghav.
Kalpi: (as realisation dwell upon her) ohhh that Priya... the girl from college.
Sammy: yes, that's why he is upset.
Kalpi: hmmm, no wonder you didn't like her (chuckling)
Sammy: whattt???
Kalpi: (with frustration) I mean look at her she is constantly staring at Raghav.
Sammy: (shot up his eyebrow) Are you... jealous????
Kalpi: (sarcastically smiling) of course I'm. I thought she would be staring at me.
Sammy: (matching the tone) didn't know you swing other ways.
Kalpi: (in mock laugh) Hahaha, but m sure you know my hand swings both ways.
Sammy: ok, ok let's cease fire... " vak yudh viram"!
Kalpi: you should go to Raghav, I hv some important thing to take care of.
Sammy: yeah that would be better.
Kalpi went straight into Pakhi's cabin. She was about to burst into tears.
Pakhi: we have only half an hour left before the meeting, i'm dead for sure.
Kalpi: Shut up!! Now listen, everything is done. All you have to do is to show the slides. Here are some brief notes u have planty of time to go through it.
Pakhi: (still shivering) what if I messed up? What if they ask me questions? You'll be there in the meeting right?
Kalpi: ummm yeah I think so. Now let me explain you about the changes.
Pakhi: (happily hugged Kalpi, she was literally shaking her) You are the best Kalpi.
Kalpi: arrrgh (moving away from her in mock anger) I don't like it.
Pakhi: (pouting) I know but you are so sweet (pulling her cheeks)
Kalpi: stop it!! Go through our notes or I won't be attending the meeting. And nobody should get to know about this you get that!
Pakhi felt silent and Kalpi started telling her about the new plan.
A Few minutes later
Raghav & Sammy saw both the girls coming towards them. Raghav was looking normal now. Sammy had helped him getting calm down.
Raghav: (to Pakhi) let's go. You two are not coming right (while walking)?
Pakhi's face went pale hearing this. Raghav was walking ahead of them.
Sammy: of course we are n... oouch!!
Before Sammy could say no Kalpi pinched him in his arm. Raghav turned around to see what happened to him.
Raghav: what happened??
Sammy: aaa nothing just some red ant stung me
Kalpi gave her a killing look.
Raghav: ohhh they are dangerous (smirks)! BTW what were you saying?
Kalpi: we are attending the meeting. After all it's a very big plan so Sammy said we should know everything about it.
Kalpi was putting every single word very carefully. Pakhi was praying for Raghav buying this idea.
Raghav: That's very good... let's go now!
Everybody stepped inside the conference room. Clients were about to come.
Sammy: (whispering into Kalpi's ear) don't think you can get away without giving any explanation.
Raghav went to Pakhi and started telling her something but they both were looking at Sammy and Kalpi, who were still busy chatting. Raghav & Pakhi both felt a wave of jealousy seeing their closeness.
The meeting started and Pakhi gave the presentation with confidence. Raghav himself was impressed with the presentation but still kept looking at Kalpi. On the other side, Kalpi was only looking at Priya, who was checking Raghav out.
Kalpi's POV: She is hot, rich and tall but givs me some negative vibes.
Kalpi heard Rony asking Pakhi a question, but wasn't answering. Raghav & Sammy both looked tensed now. Rony was about to repeat his question but Kalpi jumped in and answere the question. He asked another question and Kalpi replied again. He looked satisfied. Kalpi wasn't expecting what came next. Priya asked her a question which took her off guard.
Priya: (in cold tone) Miss Kalpi are you habitual of answering every question??
Words weren't coming out of her mouth Sammy was to say something when Raghav interrupted.
Raghav: We are a team; she has every right to answer any question.
Sammy gave a smile looking at Priya frowning. Pakhi was also happy.
Rony: I'm impressed, you have a great team. We'll sign & discuss the terms later.
The meeting was over. The clients were gone but the F4s (vl use f4 for Raghav, Kalpi, Sammy & Pakhi together) were still in the conference room.
Raghav: Good job everyone!
Sammy: It went well, great job (looking at Pakhi)
F4 was coming out of the room. Raghav was the last one to come out. He was just behind Kalpi but with one big step he was in level with her.
Raghav: (leaning and whispering to Kalpi) The presentation was really awesome.
Kalpi stood still in her tracks. Raghav was still walking; he turned around only to give Kalpi a killing smile.
The day was going good. Everyone except Raghav was sitting in Pantry. Pakhi was hurt as Sammy wasn't paying attention to her. Kalpi decided to leave them alone for some time.
Sammy: I should go and ask Raghav to join us.
Kalpi stopped him from getting up from his seat.
Kalpi: I'll go.
With that she marched towards Raghav's office.
Meanwhile in Raghav's cabin
Priya entered the cabin. Raghav was busy turning papers.
Priya: Why turning papers when you mind is elsewhere Rags.
Raghav: (shocked and angry) what the hell are you doing here???
Priya: (seductively) comm'on Rags don't pretend as if we are strangers. I know you still got affected by my presence.
She was running her hands over his shirt. Raghav was way to furious and held her hands to push away, just then Kalpi entered. Raghav went blank, Kalpi was hell shocked but Priya was giving a shameless smile.
Kalpi: (nervously looking down) ohhh I'm sorry.
She without looking up turned back and stepped out of the office. Raghav pushed Priya away with force.
Raghav: (yelling) Get lost from here!
With that he came out of his cabin to look for Kalpi. He went to Pantry where Kalpi was sitting with Pakhi & Raghav. Kalpi was looking anywhere but Raghav and Raghav had no idea what should he do.
