Ahhh what an eye opener... GET REAL ...👍🏼

here are the experts from the research ...

"Investigators from Albion College found that the more an individual believed in television portrayals of romance, the less likely they were to be committed to their relationships."

"In this study I found that people who believe the unrealistic portrayals on TV are actually less committed to their spouses and think their alternatives to their spouse are relatively attractive," said study author Jeremy Osborn, Ph.D."

makes complete sense guys.. there is a difference between REEL and REAL life 😃 so let's get REAL and think a show as break from otherwise hectic REAL life and not let the reel romance take over our real life

fan frenzies and fanaticism are a DELUSIONS of grandeur

''less committed to their spouses and think their alternatives to their spouse are relatively attractive'', Yes, but if I am not married toKushal, isn't it logical I feel attracted tohim more then my spouse, I mean who canbe hotter than Kushal, -I am not married, way too young...-

What you see on-screen is more than likely to be a much larger than life portrayal of the real world. Sure there are some touches of reality here and there but we're escapists. Do I not have enough reality to deal with in real life that I expect it in my favourite fictional shows too?

people not able to differentiate between on-screen or off-screen romance is being the reason for not able to meet expectancy and this is becoming the strained relation as per the article yaar

and you seem to be soo young .. for whom, differentiating REEL and REAL is really tough, blame it on age

Reemaji ... even i say "Real life is more dramatic than reel" .. people expect their spouse to be some one from a TV or Movie character.. and such expectancies will remain as ONE for ever ..

because REAL and REEL are parallel they NEVER MEET...

Well, I really don't know much about this whole cheating on spouse thing...I still have about 8-10 good years until I am somebody's spouse...but then honestly speaking, mature married people, don't really follow fictional stories, they watch for entertainment...and people who follow fictional romance stories are seldom married people..
so there's there's a very slight chance of both categories coming together.
Are there even enough people who are married and believe in fictional portrayals to conduct a research? I doubt that.

guys the article is based on the studies made in US, so it might not be applicable to Indian audience that the reel romance could lead to divorce😆

but there is some TRUTH and reality which also applies to Indian Audience.. for example.. you wish to have the sweetest of the MILs like Vanshika or Gayatri ...but we may not get one in real life .. the expectation is not met here and we might view things in a different angle

That's exactly what I was wondering.

Coz honestly speaking, english romantic shows are way different than Indian ones. And Indian circumstances and it's society are also quite different to their western counterparts. It wouldn't be right to evaluate Indian couples on the basis of a research conducted in the US, FOR couples in the US.

No, yaar, totally get it, people get high expectations from the
serials, as everything so perfect, and they seem to be made
for eachother, real life is not like that, there are limits, your
partner will not be able to do that everything... But the try, that
is what counts, knowing that he loves you, that's all. Just don't
aim high, there is no Virat.
Serials are just entertainment yaar, -addiction actually..-
Yeah, I shouldn't be so busy with this stuff, true, I am
too young to talk about love, these are just my ideas about
it -never ecperciened- though it seems like you have knowledge
about love in the real world.
