Alright guys, the forum has become a bit of a mess in the past few days. We feel that the situation calls for desperate measure. There are three things particularly we want to touch on - tell you guys where we stand and give you a chance to make suggestions and voice your opinions before the rules take effect.
1. The Creation Gallery: The fan wars, instigation and fights have become ridiculous in the creation gallery of all places! The gallery is only for showcasing and appreciating talent, not for talking about how much you love a particular actor(s) or chatting. It has got to the point that if the instigation and rivalry does not stop, we will be forced to make the creation gallery as a "no comments" post where any comment that is not specifically sharing a creation will be deleted and the consequence process started. So, what would you guys like to happen?! Can everyone put a stop to the chatting, instigation, sarcasm and barbed comments to the other fan group in the CG or should we just make it so no one can post ANY comments whatsoever, even about creations. Just so we are clear, we have some examples of things that are or are not acceptable in the CG:
Acceptable:
"Loved the stuff you made on actor XYZ"; "XYZ looks great in that signature", etc.
NOT Acceptable:
"Love how the CG is full of actor XYZ"; "I love XYZ"; "XYZ is so much better than ABC", etc.
2. The second issue of concern is the entire Virman vs Virika vs Jeeman vs (insert pairing here) fights. We are at a loss of what to do with this one, other than request you guys to agree to disagree and leave it at that. Also, please do stop dragging in the other fangroup/jodi that is not your favorite into every topic. Just stick to the topic and do not bring in the other jodi. Also, stop being overly sensitive to criticism directed towards your favorite actor - remember not everyone is going to like them! The only thing we can think of here is to start being stricter and closing the topic at the first post that someone makes that names the other jodi or tries to compare between then unless someone can suggest something better and will be fair to everyone. We've said it before and we'll say it again - we hate closing good discussion topics but if all are just going to turn into a fight, we will start closing them before any discussion actually starts at the first sign of sarcasm, instigation or comparison! This is fair warning and chance for everyone to speak up and/or alter their behavior regarding this constant baiting of the opposing fangroup.
3. The final issue that needs addressed is the recent rise in bashing. We are going to break this one down into three different points:
A) Actor, character bashing: Just don't do it! There is no excuse for it! Using sabeeha's catchy phrase, rePort, not reTort. Even if you bashed in retaliation, you will receive a warning. For character and actor bashing, there will be two warnings (either in a DT note or through PM) in the first and second offenses. The third offense will lead to a WL raise without any warning.
B) Member or fangroup bashing: These are real people who are directly reading these posts and are very affected by whatever you type. This is the worst kind of bashing. Be forewarned now, depending on the severity of the bashing and what was said, bashing a member or fangroup directly can lead to a direct WL raise without any warnings! We take it very seriously if you bash a fellow member and will NOT allow it on the forum in any regard.
C) DT bashing: Don't do it! If you have any complaints about us or feel that we are doing something unfair, there are numerous ways to tackle the issue instead of calling us names and/or bashing. Firstly, we are always open to suggestions and explaining any action we take, so PM us. But if you don't want to do that, you can PM the Star Plus CM, -Nadii- and/or the GM, *Shruti*. However, if you do choose to bash on the forum and/or through the RPs, then you will be given 1 warning PM and the second instance will lead to a WL raise without any warning.
Finally some examples of criticism vs bashing (if you need more to help differentiate between the two, let us know):
Criticism:
"XYZ did not act well today"; "I found ABC's portion boring"; "I though PQR's outfit did not look good on her"
Bashing:
"ABC is ugly"; "you are stupid"; "STU is the worst actor ever"
Finally, we have recently gotten a lot of accusations of being biased and not doing our jobs. While we have nothing to say about the biased issue since we will never please everyone and everyone has their own POV, we do want to say that we need your patience when it comes to handling problems. Fairy and I are both in the US - which means that we are sleeping (which is a normal human activity) when it is day in India. Therefore, there will always be a lag in our response, especially for issues that arise during the day in India. We do try to get to everything (and have done so) in less than 24 hours. Give us this much time in the very least. If issues are dragged for longer than this and we have not made our presence known, then your complaints will be valid. Before then, you cannot fault us for having a late response. People here are from numerous different timezones and we cannot cover it all!
So, do voice your opinions and tell us what you think on these rules. You have until August 26th to make any suggestions and/or bring up any other legitimate problem on the forum. We will take all your opinions into account when deciding on the best ways to tackle these issues.
