Awesome Post Anu, as usual you have covered all points beautifully. 👏

Straying away from getting justice for Payal , I thought was their big mistake and the competition at the 8 pm slot was also another.

The uneven pace of the story without any background of the many characters was unsatisfactory.

Still seeing Simone Singh after a long time made me stick with the show and will miss her and her brilliant performance of Shakshi Goenka , for sure.

I started watching midway, by chance, during a brief visit to India and found it intriguing. But then lost interest after Dev's introduction, but after a gap stated to catch up online just to see how the Goenkas would be unmasked.

Can't say much about the timeslot because I don't know how that functions and what else is there, but in principle, I completely agree that given the content a later 10 or 10:30 timeframe would have been far more logical.

To me the biggest weakness was the choice of the actor playing Dev and the very weak development of that character. He was always off in his own world and was pretty slow and bumbling. I wish they had picked a much stronger actor and invested in developing his character, made him believable. With a weak Dev it was like a hole in the heart of the show. very puzzling why they did what they did! Couldn't they tell when they reviewed the epis themselves that it wasn't working?

Dayal was very good (as were the antagonists, particularly Simone who was near flawless), but I found it a little odd how they portrayed Dayal's conversations with Durga. He was fine, but Durga was always so aloof, almost cutting him off at times, there was no real from-the-heart-empathy on her part for him. She was consumed by her her own battles adn her own ego-- I will do x, I will do y..always I, I, I. While, in the same 2 years Dayal seemed to have developed such a beautiful bond with her and it showed. This may not be a big deal, and is a small point, but it was always jarring to me.

And finally the muddying of the theme of justice. I did not appreciate it descending into a saga of revenge.

Still, it began with so much promise.

oh, and I agree -- the marriage track was baffling. I couldn't fathom the point of that track. Why was it necessary? Why was Durga hell bent on entering the Goenka hhld as Shaurya's wife?? I found it weird, illogical (unless they thought they were going to ape Revenge, even then what was the point?).

I think it was a combination of bad time slot, unnecessary/ annoying D-N flashbacks, Dev's entry and D-D wedding track, slackening of the pace, ignoring Payal and real culprits and focusing on useless Dev and Durga-Sakshi ego wars!
But above all, its Star Plus's lack of commitment to any serial that goes against the grain, that offers something new and exciting to the viewers. The EHT makers would have continued the story if SP had not forced it to end too early.

I think its just the plot. You really can't drag and drag a show with ultimate revenge plot like all those saas bahu shows... Durga has to win at some point. The culprits have to be exposed and pay for their deeds at some point no matter how powerful they are and how cunning.

i think TRP wise the show z doing quite good.
even in my country i have noticd teenagers too like ths show(they dont feel the content though, its all shaurya n sakshi charm that they adore).
considering its a totally diff type of show i find the TRP really impressive.i never expected such TRP from indian aud for a non conventional show.

coming to points u mention i agree on each point but is not it still, inspite of all ths neg point, the best n most interesting show at present?!

They never executed expose properly.

And plot was for 1 year. It was never meant to drag.

Durga should have created more empathy in viewers and real tragedy would be evident through proper flashbacks of her parents and not just Dev.

Plus she must win by brain. Not just luck or chance.

SP is taking it off air despite its 1 year term. That means it did fall short somewhere.

If it was doing well then Star Plus would not have announced to end it before its stipulated 1 year term.

We personally might like this show but reality is reflecting something else. Star is not even willing to let it run for 3 more months and is ready to replace it with even a cooking contest!

The priorities of the show are all wrong.
Why does everyone have to bark about only Sakshi Goenka and target her when they are also criminals and the rape was committed by Shaurya?

In Revenge the female had directly wronged the lead's father. Hence targeting her was natural. But how does it matter here?

Durga still lying about her identity despite being with Dev is a foolish trope with no logic.

Also rape is wrong and deserves to be punished no matter who does it. Why we need whole build up of how bad Shaurya, his friends and family are? Had they not been as slimy as Goenkas then Durga's mission made no sense?

Characters behaved inconsistent. Rajnath was not aware of Arnab's will that he allowed Devga wedding? Sakshi was introduced as MD, what about her shares? Only Rajnath has shares from their side now whereas Arnab's son, wife and DIL all have shares? Why Sakshi got Durga married to Dev if she had no plan in place?

Why RajMa had been okay all these years and never blackmailed or tried to kill Sakshi? Or spy on her and get tape at once?

This show has thrown up more questions and loopholes than answers.

I also agree Durga is rather distant and cold with Dayal, never remembers her parents, rarely visits Payal and only thinks of Dev and Suchitra! And cries with them.

They left Durga's family to focus on making Dev the hero, left other rapists so that final credit went to Dev for punishing rapists and he got to hog show by avenging his father's death too.

Flashbacks are all about Dev and his relation with Nitya. I am sick and tired of such flashbacks. From Dev's POV its okay but what about Nitya ? She has no memories of her parents. Its only her BF she remembers all the time.
At times it looks like Dev is the victim in the show. Too much screen space to Nitya- Dev flashbacks.
