Rajnath was having the lame idea yesterday to organize everything for Arnab's b'day and then order to kill Dev parallelly. He thought he can patofy his bhabi by doing all this. How did he believe after Suchitra saw her son being taken away mercilessly and Rajnath not doing anything to help him she will still listen to him.

That lady has already lost her husband mostly a very young age. All she has now is her son. Rajnath wanted to kill him too. For what. For questioning what Shaurya did. Was it that Suchitra was always afraid and she kept a firm reign on Dev not to go for truth. Or was it her blind love for family. I feel it is a combination of both.

Has her new found courage to answer back Rajnath the way she did came because of Durga. But I was happy that she didn't listen to his half baked attempts to pacify her and told she will celebrate that in school and celebration at house will happen only when her son returns.

I agree with Raj on one thing. Goenka family has only one son, the other well I don't think he can be called a son. There are better choosy names for him.

And certainly the son who should rot in jail is not def not Dev , but Raj's own son Shaurya.

She accepted Rajnath's BS only as long as her son was safe. Once the safety net was withdrawn she realised all her years of putting up with Raj and others had been futile. Her bootlicking didn't make her gain favour.

Of course Goenkas are hypocrites. Killers themselves. Killer son. Yet called Dev a killer who deserved jail.

Durga might be one reason but betrayal despite years of loyalty is what hurt her most.

@Anu my point was is it for his safety Suchitra wanted Dev also to do bootlicking. I mean in the name of sanskaars her hold was firm on him.

But in the name of Nithya or whatever though slowly Dev did try to break free of bootlicking and that is what exactly landed him where he is.

He chose to question and in yesterday epi the way Mathur taunted Dev it is very obvious that even the servants knew how Raj and Sakshi treated Dev and Suchitra.

Mathur called Dev domestic dog and he and his mom grown on the bread crumbs thrown by Raj. It was an outright insult.

As Raj and Sakshi always expected Dev and Suchitra to bootlick them in the name of gratitude.

Unlike Shaurya , Dev has a "me" feeling about him. When he says he had bought the ring and jhumkas for Nithya he stresses on the fact with my own earnings. Shaurya simply throws his parents money on clubs and girls. Which I feel neither Raj nor Sakshi wanted to have in him.

I have no doubt that Suchitra did bootlicking for safety net for Dev.

She was even ready to escape to US for their safety.

Dev has never benefitted from that surname I guess. His achievements are of his own hardwork. Rather Goenka legacy was used to bully him to act in certain ways. Unlike Shaurya who just got powet but never any responsibility. So I understand his stressing that he was self made or trying to be self made.

I don't think Raj and Sakshi didn't want Shaurya to have that "I am a Goenka" ego. They themselves had it and used the tag to get things their way. But they wanted him to be clever and of "use" which he was not. I don't understand them honestly. They crib at not having a good waaris yet laugh when Shaurya manipulates! They probably want him to manage extremes the way they themselves do. Shaurya hasn't been able to maintain veneer like they have.

Shaurya needs constant protection and cover up while Dev can fend for himself and at least doesn't do things that need cover up. Constant defending of Shaurya drains them. They want him self reliant but in Goenka style. Do anything yet not get discovered.

Suchitra has seen real face of Rajnath now. she knew Sakshi was cunning, but never expressed for family. Shaurya she saw his real face on Durga's wedding night...
