Hi All.
Please keep in mind that Dev's character is meant to be dumbest as written by CV of the show
That's the reason Nitya is unable to tell Dev about her identity because she knows that he is mama's boy and will spill the bean about her identity to her sweet aunty, Sakshi.
They are deliberately showing him dumbest of all the characters in Ek Hasina Thi.
I guess he was introduced in the show as per tradition of a typical drama to have hero otherwise the story has no role for Dev other than creating more hurdles for Durga.

Why do protagonists have to be ultra dumb?
I agree he is there just to create troubles for both Durga and Goenkas.

I really like Dev for his unwavering loyalty to Nitya, but he makes me want to facepalm with his inability to draw logical conclusions/take necessary precautions/plan anything properly.

There was a line where Durga said to Dayal that Dev is really "seedha" and that she doesn't want him involved. I took "seedha" to be her polite way of saying "thick as two planks".

I know, right? It's like Indian serial makers think good people have to be thick because intelligence is a sign of evil or something.

Show's protagonist is Durga, antagonist is Sakshi!

Why did they need a male protagonist? Why not continue the show with a female protagonist?

Dev was NOT Needed at all! Show was doing fine without him!

Indian audiences expect them to be dumb I suppose!!!!🤢 🤢 🤢

My favourite show had a super intelligent heroine and hero and it got axed by the channel!!!!

This show has a very Smart villain in Shakshi.

A heroine that has come with a mission as Durga.

An Evil and obnoxious male as Shaurya.

Now we all have to admit we need to balance all this with a "Bumbling Fool " to create levity and so Dev Babu was given to us the audience as an irritant so we could make many post to keep the forum active.😆
